When I started playing the game last December, I did screenshots of each level before any lemmings come out.  I forgot exactly why but I think partly so it's possible to examine a level at times when I don't want to actually fire up the game (especially at that point before GP's patch, so it's unplayable on Win7).  To account for the cylindrical nature, I always captured 4 screenshots per level.

Of course, I stopped playing after the 8th column and haven't gotten a chance to go back into it yet, so even if I found a good place to post the screenshots to, it won't cover many of the later levels anyway.

oh cool  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/smiley.gif" alt=":)" title="Smiley" class="smiley" /> That's nice. If you'd upload that I'd take it for my own reference as well. That would come in handy. You can put all the pics in or just one. I don't know which would be best, try and see. Maybe we could paste them together into one long horizontal pic. I looked online btw and didn't find much by the way of good quality pics.
Don't worry about after column 8, I can take pics of those if/when we ever get that far. I have a decent screen cap program now.

Reviews / Level Review--Lemmings Revolution
September 19, 2012, 01:54:12 AM
review thread for Lemmings Revolution.
Why let the reviewing end! I picked Revolution because it's a game I love and I can't review L2 or any of the others. (I could review paintball but that appears to have bad beef here. Not a single thread of discussion about that game! http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/shocked.gif" alt=":o" title="Shocked" class="smiley" /> I'll have to fix that eventually.)
Go from 4-5 to 4-6 etc.
Rules follow the same as the other reviews. (Except don't count on me to strictly enforce them. I'm easy).

I'm starting out with level 4-4 because all the levels before that are tutorial levels. If anybody really wants to review those levels you can of course. I personally think they're mostly boring (even for tutorial levels)
I don't know where to get pictures other than from the game itself. You couldn't see the whole level from that however.
Thanks to finlay for use of his spreadsheet for much of the level information.
I'd kind of like to talk about general things about the game itself as well when they come up so feel free to do that. There's a lot of things that bother me. (Despite this being my favorite Lemmings game).

4-4 Seafood Sarnie

Lemmings: 25
Save: 20
RR: <50 [< means RR can only go down, > means it can only go up. If otherwise not mentioned the RR is totally changable]
time: 10 minutes

skills: 20 bombers 20 blockers 20 builders, 20 bashers

good:  A good beginner level with a crab. I like the crab, I don't really know why.  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/laugh.gif" alt=":D" title="Laugh" class="smiley" />

bad: the laser gate is right by the entrance making it pretty pointless. Unless (as I'm guessing) it was just more tutorial stuff to show off what it does. Kind of an odd skill set for a beginner level.

Final Version of Tick Toxic  I'll guarantee this is unbackroutable!
Difficulty is still about a late taxing map (going from a lemmings1 level point of view)
Thanks for pre-testing the early version again Proxima.
Rubix

I played this level, here is a replay. I'm afraid it may be a backroute since I saved 29/30. However, the extra I saved was simply by exact-to-wall building. (I like that phrase, can I coin that?  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/laugh.gif" alt=":D" title="Laugh" class="smiley" />) But I didn't look at anyone else solutions so Idk.

Still, I really liked this level, It was challenging.  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/smiley.gif" alt=":)" title="Smiley" class="smiley" />

Level Design / Re: need help
September 14, 2012, 12:00:14 AM
at first I thought you meant you were recreating all the unique levels from the PSP to Lemini.

This is nice, but what I only care about really is seeing the unique levels, in any graphic set really, as long as it works or resembles the PSP level in some way.
I'd help you do that if I could see a picture/stats of the unique levels. (I don't have the PSP) However I don't have the extra graphics for lemini. I can only make levels using Lemmix and the Custlem styles or whatever. which I don't mind

I'm having a little trouble because I can't figure out how to access ATI Tray Tools, or if I even have it. I have ATI and I have the catalyst Center (never used it until now). All I can do so far is "enable system tray menu" which is not the same as what you're using. At least--It doesn't have any options like your's has.

You appear to  be using Windows XP or earlier. I have 7. Can you enable the ATI tray tools from inside the Catalyst center? Should I look in the program folders of ATI suffs?

So you're saying you tested this on a Genesis emulator and the music selects at random? Strange.

What was your solution?
Quote

mine was:
almost same as part 1 except let two lemmings go on beyond the first crevice. One mines to turn around then mines into the longer crevice and bashes to free the others before falling.
This is one of the backroutes I'm guessing. I didn't even get to look into the left part of the level and see what else was going on. On youtube somebody has what he claims are the two main solutions that are probably intended. His name is LemminsMaster

I was frankly a little disappointed. I have to sort of agree with Insane Steve I think it was, who said he thought part 1 was harder. If only because part 2 is so similar and now I've already learned the tricks involved so it's not a big deal.

and also, probably been discussed before but what's with the title? Clam's Fall and DIE! sounds a lot better.
More Japanese/translation issues or just culture differences?

---
After playing the Genesis levels I have to give a big hand of applause to the creators of this version. Very well done despite numerous sad backroutes. Some of the decoration is ingenuous and required a lot of work. Also great job in using the underused graphic styles. Except one minor complaint: the third 'slicer' trap of the Crystal set was never used was it?
All in all it greatly expanded on the original game.

Some of the choices made however are just plain strange. Like some of the titles. and the music.
Some of the levels are really out of place in the difficulty ratings. Some seem just pointless. There are a few that look sort of interesting but have such simple solutions you have to wonder if it's really a backroute or just some kind of weird level idea gone wrong or something  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/huh.gif" alt="???" title="Huh?" class="smiley" />

And why remake some of the ONML levels when they were making their own? Why not remake all of ONML? Since they made so many originals why not makes two separate games or another game? They must've bet on seeing how the game would do and apparently it didn't do well enough to make more sequels etc..  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" class="smiley" /> Of course Sega is known for doing things that don't make any sense at all so...
I know "Sega" didn't create this game but Sega is ultimately in charge of saying "make another lemmings game" or not.

Nope, it's neither of these either (and I don't even see the possible connections to my clue anymore http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/huh.gif" alt="???" title="Huh?" class="smiley" />).

I think my clue is far less obscure than some of the previous ones, but perhaps a little different in style.

King of the castle is kind of like an inverted pachinko machine: Lemmings come out on bottom and "fall" back and forth up to the top. But rainbow island is much better, ignoring where the entrance and exit are that is.
Your clue was not as obscure and yet it seems people had a harder time with it http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/huh.gif" alt="???" title="Huh?" class="smiley" />

Okay. But earlier you all said I should not number my levels and just keep the same title.
I'll do the rest later

it's mayhem 18, two different worlds. They bash through the steel straight on to the exit, it's not near the top of the level.

just so you know; I didn't really test this level on a Genesis emulator. I said that only because:
There was a video I wanted to show you that demonstrates that there definitely is a difference in steel mechanics. Now I can't find it. But in the video the player is able to bash through steel by simply doing some weird combination of building/bashing. No blockers or trigger areas were used as far as I can tell. If anything however, it indicates the steel is possibly even more glitchy. In any case, it doesn't matter; as you said it's clearly possible even with the steel glitches just a little harder.

moving right along...

Genesis, Sunsoft level 28: The gate trap Lemmings

http://www.neolemmix.com/levelimg/extra/0328.png" alt="" class="bbc_img" />

Lemmings: 100
100% to be saved
Time: 5 minutes
Release rate: 70

Skills: 1 floater, 1 bombers, 1 blockers, 6 builders, 5 bashers, 2 diggers

Good: I like the design a lot. As usual the decoration is really nice/well thought up putting blocks together to make them look bigger.
The solution(s) are neat, and effective use of one-way-walls.

Bad: There are too many solutions making it too easy for its position in the game. Though the arrows say 'only on terrain' in Lemmix for some reason in Lemini they don't display right. They remain on screen when you bash through the terrain.

only 2 levels remain! (and I wooped both of them already  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/smiley.gif" alt=":)" title="Smiley" class="smiley" />)
