OK, I'll put both in; but I'm still going to use my ones on my levels
Done.

Thank you! :D

And yes, that was the joke..... since that, out of all my levels, uses by far the least space, I thought I'd put it into a *huge* level. However, to appease Shvegait a little, I've also made a prequel, "Goblin City", that uses quite a bit more of the terrain. (I didn't plan it that way; I just realised after I'd created the layout that it allowed the possibility.)

Quote from: ccexplore (not logged in)  link=1125677419/0#14 date=1125874489Cheapo uses a full-color mini-map and as far as I know no one has complained.  (Well, maybe not yet.  Watch now as Mindless/Ahribar/Jazzem proves me wrong.)
Well, it's made (slightly) harder work for me as a style designer, since I've had to choose a colour for the dotted border showing what corresponds to the visible screen area on each style, trying to make it look good against the terrain colour. :P

But I admit that tiny complaint is hugely outweighed by the nicer appearance of the colour mini-map when the style is done.

Thank you!

Quote from: geoo89  link=1125768276/45#47 date=1125856410Well, for the exits, I don't like the ones for the Classic/Colums and the Crystal style. I really prefer the original for those.
OK, I'll put both in; but I'm still going to use my ones on my levels :P

QuoteI general, I hope the music gets ready as soon as possible since I want to use your styles
I'll send you ccexplore's e-mail address then, so you can help to nag him! God knows I've made little enough progress on my own........

Damn they really do look nice. B) Ahribar, does your "original graphics" look more like the Win95 one or the DOS one?

Um....... I haven't seen either so I can't tell you :P Here's a screenshot of a whole level in one of my styles, if it will help you compare: http://www.geocities.com/zarathustra47/Teaser.gif

I can put more screenshots up if you like, just tell me what you want!

Wow, I didn't realise this would generate so much controversy :D

I've uploaded the exits I used for the five Lemmings 1 styles so you can have a look: http://www.geocities.com/zarathustra47/exits.gif

If you really don't like them..... I guess I could make a poll and ask other people whether they prefer the originals.

Why? It's not hard. Oh, I admit, it looks really forbidding, but once you settle down to play it, after a bit of trial and error to work out where to start the bombers, it's a lot easier than several of the levels before it.

And it's all bomber timing and no puzzle, so a solution page wouldn't really help much :P

I thought Cheapo's Blue/Crystal style was decent though, and maybe also the Columns style.  I have to agree I'm not too enthusiastic about its Pink style.
I also thought they were OK until it became possible for me to design levels with the original graphics..... though the Columns style is perhaps the least crap. One thing I do like, though, is the exits (except of course the Fire one); in my new styles I've combined the design of the Cheapo exits with the colouring of the originals to get the perfect combination :D

Quote from: JM  link=1114567084/420#427 date=1125764234I didn't look at the solution page to complete the level. I completed it before I found out about Lemmings on the internet.

Fine.

I beat all 220 levels of both games without looking at a solution page, so there! :P

Cheapo ugly?  :???:

The graphics in the default styles are pretty ugly, which is why I've bothered to make styles using the originals.

I'm not sure whether you mean without looking at the solution page or without using the particular solution shown on the page; but in either case, I didn't either :P

OK; I'll save the other styles for when the final versions are ready, but since you've used the pre-release versions of Pink and Blue, I've put those two up in a zip file: http://www.geocities.com/zarathustra47/Michael.zip

Anyone who doesn't have both these styles can get them there! (The download is about 2MB...... don't say I didn't warn you!)

Incidentally, would you like the Repton style now? I wasn't planning on releasing it until I'd done six levels (I've done four), but the style itself is complete.

Quote from: guest  link=1114567084/405#416 date=1125638409In fact, the only real challenge is containing and releasing the crowd, and that's not hard at all. [Sorry about all that, I just didn't like the level.]
Hmm.... since I can't play the level I don't know, but wouldn't the "Time to get up" solution work? Or would there not be enough builders?

QuoteBy the way, "The Lemming Tower of Pizza" is a great title for a level
Hey, thanks! :D
