You guys wanted this, so here it is!

SubLems is my levelpack containing 130 levels that use the original Lemmings and Oh no! More Lemmings! tilesets. The pack has a gentle difficulty curve. It starts pleasant and easy, but gets very hard at the end. As such, it is friendly to new players, but also has some levels to stump the experts as well.

What has changed for this version? A few levels have been moved around due to new NeoLemmix features such as walking bombing. Several levels had to be replaced due to the solutions not working in NeoLemmix. Also, a small handful of levels incorporate the new NeoLemmix skills, so look forward to that.

Download instructions:

There are separate downloads for the levels and music. Each level has its own music track, so I highly recommend getting the music, even if the download is a few megabytes. All of the music should be safe to use in Youtube videos too.

Download the levelpack here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/yh28vsa12m273t6/Sublems%20V2.2.nxp?dl=1

Download all of the music here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/tsifask8mu6nkyh/Sublems%20Music.zip?dl=1

Install instructions:

Simply put the .nxp file in the NeoLemmix folder, select it when you boot up NeoLemmix, and start playing!

If you downloaded the .zip file with all of the music, extract it all into the folder titled "music" (without the quotes) in the main NeoLemmix folder, and the music should automatically be played in the pack.

Have fun, and all feedback is appreciated! :D

Here are some sneak peaks at the various difficulties in SubLems:

Newbie

Are you new to Lemmings? Is this your first custom levelpack? Do you want a refresher on the basics of Lemmings? Do you want to get to know NeoLemmix? Do you want to appreciate architecture and/or great music? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you should play this difficulty. This has 10 tutorial levels that introduce you to the basic mechanics of Lemmings and SuperLemmini. Even if you are an expert, I still recommend you play this pack; it is really short, has great music, and at least one level returns in a later difficulty.

Just don't expect all of the levels to be walks in the park

Difficulty: early Fun

Sweet

The first of the main difficulties, which all have 20 levels! Sweet is a warm and inviting difficulty, which builds on what you learned in Newbie. You'll find beautiful architecture and music, as well as simple levels that can be easily solved. Sweet also rewards players for their intelligence; a smart player can use more advanced techniques to solve levels more quickly and easily than beginners. Also, don't expect all of the levels to be easy as pie; the levels get challenging at the end.

All aboard the SubLems express!

Difficulty: Fun-Tricky

Scary

Gone are the warm and inviting levels of Sweet; these levels are starting to get intimidating. Suddenly, environments are more hostile, traps are starting to pop-up, and tasks are getting more scarce. The levels may start as easy as Sweet, but they quickly climb in difficulty, which will give players much more challenge than the Sweet levels. This is also where you will start to encounter puzzle levels, which force you to find new ways of using these tasks. Get that brain working; you'll need to...

It looks peaceful, but that might change when you see the skill set...

Difficulty: Tricky-Taxing

Chaotic

As the name implies, this is where the levels start to get chaotic. Now, skills are even more limited, the release rates are high, more and more hatches need to be attended to, and now, time isn't always on your side. You'll encounter even harder puzzles now, and they only get harder from here on out. Think hard, and get used to hitting that pause button; it will become your best friend before this difficulty is over.

If you want to go through the fire and flames, you'd best do it quickly...

Difficulty: Taxing-Mayhem

Insane

This is where we separate the boys from the men and the girls from the women. No more punches are pulled; these levels are downright diabolical! Highly advanced tricks are needed for these levels, as well as speed, patience, and extreme intelligence. These levels will give even experts trouble, and novices have no chance, since Insane demands tricks even more advanced than those used in the official games!

I AM PIPE MONSTER! I WILL DESTROY YOUR LEMMINGS AND HOPE!

Difficulty: Mayhem-Sunsoft

Hellish

Welcome to Hell. Abandon all hope of leaving unscathed. This is where the game shows its true colors. All of the most diabolical and devious puzzles have been saved for last. Experts will tremble at the might of Hellish! Even the music is showing how tense the levels are now, and the environments are as crazy as the difficulty. Do try to finish, as the final level is quite spectacular. Prepare to be here for a while, possibly FOREVER!

You thought Lemmings' Ark was hard? Try beating it with only ONE miner!

Difficulty: WELL BEYOND SUNSOFT!!!

Retro

Bonus time! Savvy Lemmings players will get deja vu here, as this difficulty contains an extra 20 levels from Lemmings and Oh no! More Lemmings! with different skill assignments. This has its own difficulty curve, and while it starts easy, it becomes brutally difficult at the end.

Don't let nostalgia cloud your brain, you'll need the neurons.

Difficulty: Tricky-Sunsoft

QuoteStep 1: Put the file titled "SubLems.nxp" (without the quotes) into your NeoLemmix folder.

Step 2: Put the file titled "all.dat" (without the quotes) into the "styles" (without the quotes) folder in the NeoLemmix folder.

Rather than giving these instructions, you can build a copy of all.dat into the NXP. Just add it on the "Graphic Sets" tab. :)

Gronkling

Seeing as how I already saw these levels on youtube when I thought it would only be on Superlemmini I decided to instead see how many levels I could backroute/find alternate routes to.
Here's replays for most levels in Hellish! Apart from levels 7, 10, 14 & 15. I used the latest non-experimental release for these replays (V 1.43 I think)

Colorful Arty

Just updated the pack.

-Fixed a HUGE backroute on Hellish 6
-Added walls to Sweet 13 and Hellish 9 (in anticipation for edges becoming fatal)
-Fixed the lizard trap on Hellish 8 (now it can eat you)

Colorful Arty

Updated SubLems once again!

-It now runs on the new version of NeoLemmix (V 1.47)
-Improved Chaotic 16 by making it slightly larger (scenic effects only)
-Added more talismans

Colorful Arty

Alright, this has been updated to work on V 1.47n-D. This update fixes (hopefully) all of the weird trigger areas (such as the exit on Hellish 1) as well as moving a couple of levels around in the ranks. In addition, the levels using the 'all' tileset have been remade using the NeoLemmix graphic set mixing to cut down on load times and errors. Another update will come after Flopsy has finished his playthrough which will seal up the major backroutes he finds.

Fixed the latest update since apparently the new NeoLemmix update made Hellish 15 no longer possible. >:(

Hellish 15 is now a completely new level with new music.

Also, more talismans have been added, and they all work now. :p

I would recommend making a replay folder with solving replays to every level. After an update make a mass replay check with the new version and check if all replays are still solving. If a replay breaks you can quicky investigate that and check if the level overall is still solvable and just the replay needs reworking.
This way you can prevent impossible levels very effectively.

Colorful Arty

Funny thing about that, is I actually did have one of those, and it did not inform me that Hellish 1 was impossible when I updated to V1.47. Flopsy found that out the hard way. I don't really trust it anymore unfortunately.

Then some kind of error must have been made. Either wrong version of level or player must have been used for the check or the Flopsy playing side. This would be my guess, as I never had an incorrect call from the function (except one "could not find level" case) when I used the correct versions of replay, level and player.

namida

The way the replay checker is written, fasle positives should be impossible to trigger. False negatives (ie: the test reports a successful replay as "failed", or more likely as "undetermined") are perhaps a bit more likely, but should still be extremely rare.

Did you check the individual replay itself manually? It might be that the level isn't truly impossible, but just requires extreme precision - and the replay just so happens to get it right.

Colorful Arty

Maybe, but I do know that the exit trigger worked pre-update and post-update, the trigger area changed despite me not changing it

Was this with a converted-from-Lemmini graphic set, an included-with-NeoLemmix one, or a custom-but-made-for-NL one?
