@Swerdis

Congratulations on solving all of Lemmings Plus IV! :thumbsup: Like all of the other packs I've played before you, I absolutely enjoyed following along on all of your videos and journey and quest from start to finish to beat all of the pack :) There was never any doubt in my mind that you be able to accomplish that feat, and you finally have today, the day after Halloween :laugh:

@namida

I have solved all of your Lemmings Plus VII levels that you ended up completing and released :thumbsup:  My replays are attached.

Also link to my playlist video solutions which contains both mine and videos of your intended solutions: Kaywhyn's Playlist of Lemmings Plus VII Solutions

There was one replay of yours I needed to fix, which was Hall of Damnation

While some of these are clearly backroutes, most of these were much harder than I thought. For example, All For One, Bad Ideas, Shuffle, The Forgotten Zone, and The Lemming Gambit were the hardest ones for me. At the same time, after seeing your solutions to the last two, it appears that I made my solutions much harder than needed! :laugh: Dungeon of Defright is kind of harder than it needs to be as well, though probably a nicer alternative to the intended :P

Believe it or not, Magician's Tomb was the last level I solved, but only because I thought there was going to be a lot of fiddliness involved, when in actuality there isn't. I had the overall general gist of the solution down fast, but I thought executing it would be really difficult. Luckily it isn't, just some really clever usage of the skills given.

Even then, I still enjoyed the levels you ended up completing for what would had been Lemmings Plus VII. I especially like the Organic set the most out of the other two styles, including the music! :thumbsup:

@namida

Since you've done it for all of your packs, would it be possible for you to list the LPVII music sources and add them to the second post of the topic under the "Music Sources" heading? In particular, I'm still not sure where crypt1 and dungeon1 come from. All the others I had some help in identifying, but for completeness let's list them for all 9 tracks :)

edit: It has been done. Thanks namida! :thumbsup:

Lemmings Plus I, Wimpy rank lvl "Only One Place To Go". Badge requires you to complete using only 2 skills total. Any advice on how to do it ?

Spoiler
The two skills in question are the basher and the digger. That's how I've always done it at least.

Thanks for the advice. I was kind of sure about it : need to get both lemmings batch out of thier cages after all. So I guess this is a problem of using them at the correct time and place, and maybe setting RR when needed.
I'll give it more tries...

[EDIT] ok got it. This is indeed dig and bash, correct time and correct place. One loss possible.

I was playing Quest From Kieran and got kind of overburned by the difficulty there.

Then kaywhyn gave this nice list of packs sorted by difficulty in the QFK thread, and I felt like taking a break with packs considered easier may be a good thing. And what a break that was ! I cleared all of Lemmings Plus I, including the talismans.

Even though this has been done a lot of times already I'm attaching my replays. Most of the time if a level appears twice it is because the second replay is the talisman. Sorry but some level do appear twice for no reason.

Giving some quick thoughts on particular levels :

* Danger 17 : Perfectionnism I think I backrouted here, using a pixel precise use of diggers at the beginning to save the two lemmings coming from leftmost entrance. Intended solution is way more natural.

* Psycho 16 : Crosswork Honestly not very fun. I had to turn RR to 99 to get enough lemmings in the mess and built kind of random until it worked. Not very satisfied with the solution, and I cannot see another one.

* No Salvation series Fun fact : my 10yo kid played this level the first time it appeared. He found what I thought was a weird solution, but it turned out his solution worked up to the 4th iteration of No Salvation ! Many thanks to him.

* Psycho 29 : No Salvation V I had to change from the kid solution obviously and got something involving a mid-air bomber to clear the step too high in the staircase. Not sure this is intended seeing how I have 20 seconds left on the 60 seconds timer at the end ?

* Medi 25 : Wall of Wisdom, talisman Save 64 lemmings to get it. I was over confident here, did not realize until the results screen that one needs 17 diggers to eat the whole wall, and that 80-17=63 < 64. Arf. Took me a long more time to figure out how to save one digger, and finally understood that the "digger cancels digger" trick only work if second digger is close to the first digger by one pixel at most. Anyone can confirm this ?
I'm also wondering what happens if second digger is at a correct position to cancel first, but happens to start digging on an exact frame where first digger steps down one pixel. Cancel or no cancel ? I could not produce this situation yet to test.

* Psycho 28 : To the End, talisman Requires to clear using only Dig and Bash. Thnigs went kind of smoothly with Dig cancels Dig as above, until the arrow wall. Could not get through it until I randomly left the first digger dig further down, and feel like I had tremendous luck to have second lemming step on the arrow wall at the correct timing to be able to initiate the Dig-Bash thingie high enough to clear the width of the wall.

Nice, glad to hear you're finding the list helpful, though really the credit goes to the user who sent me that list ;) Also, congrats on solving all of LPI! :thumbsup:

Nah, the pack list is in the Holiday Lemmings 2024 topic, not QFK :P

Yup, that's how the digger cancelling another digger works, by digging 1 pixel on either side of the first one, or right on top of the first digger.

QuoteI'm also wondering what happens if second digger is at a correct position to cancel first, but happens to start digging on an exact frame where first digger steps down one pixel. Cancel or no cancel ? I could not produce this situation yet to test.

In this case, the second digger immediately gets cancelled because the terrain he was going to remove if he had dug was already removed by the first digger. Thus, the second digger falls and gets cancelled, not the first digger. Meaning, in this case you don't see the second Lemming do the digger animation at all and instead he transitions into a faller right away. That being said, digger cancelling does not work for all Lemmings ports or works differently depending on the port. For example, this is what makes it possible to complete the WAFD (We All Fall Down) levels with only two diggers in NL, but if I'm not mistaken, the 2 digger solution on Dos is impossible. Instead, I believe it takes a minimum of 3 diggers to complete IIRC?

3 for Fun, 5 for Tricky, 7 for Taxing, 9 for Mayhem. Because no cancelling is possible, the best solution on DOS is to crowd the lemmings as tightly as possible into each digger's pit, so you need 1 digger per 9 lemmings (rounded up).
