I agree. I like my table WITHOUT the stupid DOS thing. ><img src=" title="Angry" class="smiley" /> How many people have DOS in the whole wide world? I know, about 10 or so. This is not going to be a popular fangame and I don't want to play it if DOS is required. I know some people have Windows 7 (especially Mr Kiwi) and their DOS have a somewhat awkward colour palette. I don't know if this is sorted out, but please, think of a more modern software like Java please.

Uh, guys? This is the LEVEL SUBMISSIONS thread. We have a general fangame discussion thread for this sort of thing...

Obviously it would be best if we could make a game that works for everyone. The question is whether we have the patience (or even the ability) to get it going. We really do need to figure out exactly what we want to achieve here - the sooner, the better.

I have drawn up a plan for improving my earlier levels so they can be included in the fangame. At the moment it looks like I will have about 45 levels to submit in total - whether I'll have time to actually do all this is another matter :-\. Many of these levels will be quick to get up to standard though, now that I know what to do.

Thanks. I'm surprised how well it turned out, myself. :D

Now can you solve it? ;)

Bear in mind that the Lemmix version doesn't actually use DOS.

OK, since you're not asking for a limit, I'm putting in ALL my levels in the fangame. I know some of my levels suck so bad, but that is the case.

When did I say there would be no limit?  I just said I don't know how many there would be.

And by saying we'd have to use DOS, I meant so those of us who don't use Windows can play the fangame.  Remember, Lemmix is Windows only.

Whoops, I missed your point about the "Windows hacking DOS for those who don't have Lemmix" bit. I might not be reading posts carefully enough.

Sorry, I know this is a level Submissions thread, but I've already submitted mine.

Making a new pack.  In it, every level will have one hidden backroute put there on purpose.

For this level (I haven't gotten to the decoration yet), here's the intentional backroute hint:

Quote from: Spoiler
Go the wrong way through the one way rock.  Uses no glitches.

Don't forget spoiler code should you reveal the solution!  The level is attached.

I think one of my recent levels from the "Level Design Game" thread could work in your E.L.F.  The level from this post.

If you plan on doing repeat levels like Lemmings (unlike ONML) in ELF, the easier version of the level would have the following stats:

title: "Every Which Way"
time limit: 5 minutes
RR: 99
number of lemmings: 16
number to save: 8
skills: 8 of each

It would be a level that fits in a "Fun" or "Tame"-like difficulty range.

Then the later, harder version of the level would have the following stats:

title: "Detour"
time limit: 2 minutes
RR: 99
number of lemmings: 16
number to save: 10 or 11
skills: 1 of each

That level would fit in, oh I dunno, "Taxing" or "Wild" maybe?  Or a middle/late "Tricky"/"Crazy" perhaps.

Anyway, when the decision has been made to include my level, let me know and I'll do some final minor cleaning up of the graphics.  Mainly related to the placement of those "spinning framethrower" objects I think.  I could also add in some more decorative stuff.

That's a really good idea! and I did say earlier that I like levels simplified.

I said a while ago that I wouldn't be making many levels because of other stuff going on...

That doesn't mean I'm not making any levels at all ;)

Here is the first level (other than my 05 pack) that I would like to submit to the fangame. It's a completely revamped version of "Singular Squish" from my 01 pack. I recently discovered that the original version has a horrific backroute, and worse, it couldn't be eliminated without making the level look terrible. So I swapped the builders for miners. The result? Same level (effectively), same solution, but no backroute. I hope...

Another remake for the fangame. This time, it's "Bumpy Ride" from my 2nd pack. I have removed the hole in the terrain and replaced it with something much nicer-looking, and added decoration around the level. Again, the puzzle is fundamentally the same.

Well, you can make that.  You'll probably want to switch it to 80 lemmings, though, because unless DOS Lemmings can be hacked to support 100, there will be a level that will only work on Windows.  I'm still trying to figure out how to get into the Amiga Lemmings files...  I'd like to edit that version quite a lot.

OK, here's another level to put in the fangame, I might want to put this in to replace one of my poorer levels in one of my sets. The level is called "Here come the quintuplets" and it has no builders! 8)

By the way, this is more about sharing creations with levels rather than just a discussion, I might ask a moderator to move this topic to somewhere else.
