Just wanted to announce that I now have this game also and as I'm taking a break from Lemmings at the moment, I will be pooling some creativity into this game. I owned Super Mario Maker on the Wii U and 3DS and I did not really utilise the level creation tools in those properly.
I did coin this idea before as well but I deleted the topic due to lack of interest. Is anyone interested in getting together online and playing some of the Switch's finest games at the moment? I'd be up for anything with multiplayer that I own (MK8, Splatoon2, Mario Maker - multiplayer on this?). I already have some people on my friends list on here so there are a few of us with Switchs now.
Feedback on already posted levels.
Arty's Chomp Pendulums!
A very interesting theme here, some of the areas were much easier than others, it was made a lot easier when I realised that spin jumps actually make this level super cheap, still had to time those jumps when I utilised it though. I really disliked the last part of the level before the axe, I felt there were too many chain chomps there, I actually did not use the platform and instead had to damage boost onto the axe in the end which I'm sure you would have disapproved of. I did like this overall but SMBU style is by far my least favourite style of level so you had a disadvantage here from the outset.
Nessy's Lookback Mansion
Yikes, this is very much like watching ryukahr on Super Expert levels when I played this, it was brutal after the 2nd checkpoint. I'm not saying I hated this level though, it was a very nice challenge and it slowly built up and got way harder. The Boom Boom fight was very unexpected as well, it's a good job I'm very good at beating him in regular SMB3. Beautiful level here, I'd love to see more like this. The SMB3 theme is very underused throughout the Mario Maker community as well so props for using it, I think it's a very undervalued style.
Granted, SM3DW is also a good style which is introduced in this game but SMB3 is still best in my opinion. SMB and SMW are okish and SMBU is the worst (to be fair, I never liked the wall jumps or that technique which keeps you in the air a little longer)
