Because the root words of "sword" contained Ws or Us. Sweord, Swerdan.

Good one, namida, by the way.

You can change the screen colour type on the 3000. It's in the preferences menu. You can switch between a brighter screen and a duller screen that is easier to read.

Lemmings Main / Re: Lemmings PSP/PS2 Music - Listen Here!

Yeah. And while the old music is great and everything, something would be hugely offputting about those fabulous redesigned graphics and ... "How Much Is That Doggy In The Window?" - no, it just doesn't bond.

Help & Guides / Re: Compiling L++ - need some help
« on: November 19, 2010, 06:35:56 AM »
Not sure which I'm trying. It's whatever's on the Lemmings File Archive mirror. I can compile it, but it segfaults when trying to run the main app. lppserv runs fine, though.

I have noticed a few details that Mac OS X didn't like, so I've changed them and made notes. (e.g. compiling in 32-bit mode only makes things a HELLUVA lot easier)

I think you really have to play the game with the music to like it. When you're playing, it all just makes sense. The music is just a backdrop, not something at the forefront.
And it really fits with the redesigned styles.

It's really nice.
But you have to have played it. Imagining it doesn't work.

Help & Guides / Compiling L++ - need some help
« on: November 19, 2010, 12:10:47 AM »
Ahoy there,

I'd just like to know if anybody has had success compiling the L++ source code on any platform.

I'm trying to build a version for Mac OS X so that I can play.

I'm guessing that I need libenet-1.2.2 or lower (libenet-1.3.0 seems to be incompatible with L++), but I'm not sure which version of Allegro.

I tried Allegro 4.4, that didn't quite work. I might give 4.2 a shot later on.

Any tips?

Giga, you've only proven again that you think you're the only person whose opinion counts.

As it happens, I'm still working on my remake of Lemmings 1. It's coming along very slowly, mind you. I was wondering if I should spin it off into a Lemmings 2 clone, but just emulating numero uno is taking enough time.

Yeah, probably. Oh well, nothing wrong with a thread bump. It's dead around here lately. We need something amazing to happen in the world of Lemmings.

Come on, Sony. Where's our Lemmings 2: The Tribes remake?

(And how about porting Lemmings PSP to 3DS? (It'd be great. Nice widescreen top screen for the game action, nice touch screen for selecting tools (in addition to shoulder buttons, of course) - I'm not remotely interested in another iteration of the PSP built into an Android phone, I want some licensed versions damnit!)

Giga, are you asking to be banned? Because you've been warned several times for the incessant posting of topics without a topic.

That appears to be so. I'm going one by one with a DOSBox video capture. It captures nicely enough.

And QuickTime Player can export a video to an image sequence, so that'll be useful.

Hey,

Does anyone have the separate sprites for the Classic tribe Lemming out of
All New World of Lemmings? It'd be much appreciated.

If they're already up somewhere, my Google-fu is failing me.

That's easy.

1: Hold down the Fn key while you press the Function key.
On an aluminium keyboard, that's above the Delete key.
On a MacBook keyboard, that's second from left at the bottom.

2: OR you can disable special keys in System Preferences > Keyboard.
Untick "Use all F1, F2, etc., as special keys" and then you won't need to use Fn.

Hmm, I'll see if I can rectify that. They may be up there, but hidden from view. I'm not sure. I don't really like how YouTube profiles work anymore. Maybe I'll create a playlist.
