Levels for other engines / Re: Lemmix Level Pack Topic
« on: Today at 01:25:35 am »
Here is my new Lemmix level, called "The Crystal Coves".

I have tested the level in both vanilla Lemmix and Custlemmix. In vanilla Lemmix it works flawlessly , but in Custlemmix the water and the owws appear a little misplaced. I will try to fix this issue the following days ,by releasing a fixed version for Custlemmix. Also the replay for vanilla Lemmix doesn't work properly in Custlemmix and vice versa. That's why I have posted here replays for both vanilla Lemmix and Custlemmix .

I have tested the level on "custom lemmings" viewing style.

Also both the replays are viewable on  "custom lemmings" viewing style.

The unreachable heights is magic. I knew the glitch existed but never saw that working. Added to my collection!
As well as the reachable heights.

Thank you for your comments!

I had the idea for "Unrechable Heights" back in 2013 (including the name of the level), but i made the level in 2017. The end result was great! The level works really well (exactly how I wanted it), and on top of that, aside of the glitch , it uses also two of my favourite non-glitch tricks (I really like non-builder levels)!

Here is the Lemmix version of my level "Reachable Heights".

"Reachable Heights" is a modification of my previous Lemmix level "Unreachable Heights" , and it is a non-glitch level . The original level ("Unreachable Heights") was a non-bulder level that used a glitch , but also it used some non-glitch tricks too. So I made a modified version that uses these non-glitch tricks I mentioned . In order to do it, I added builders to the original level, removed the two climbers , reduced the amount of other skills a little, and upped the save requirement by 1 .

I have tested the level on "custom lemmings" viewing style.

I have also attached the replay of the solution. It is viewable on custom lemmings viewing style.

In this post I will put the link for my first Neolemmix level ( Reachable Heights )

Hi! Now that my second level for Neolemmix is ready I've decided to create this thread. I will not make any levelpack ( I will always post only single levels ) ,so everything I will make for Neolemmix will be in this thread . In this post I will post my second Neolemmix level , and in the following posts , I will put links for my first Neolemmix level and a "Lemmix to Neolemmix" conversion I have made in the past ( I have posted both in the "Random level sharing" topic ).

My second Neolemmix level is called "Shadows in the sky"

I have attached in this post both the level , and the replay of the solution of the level.

The music track for this level is "The moria labyrinth" by D Lusion .
Link fot the track : ( http://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_by_moduleid&query=80874 )

EDIT: Removed all the one-way wall to make the look of the level cleaner.

Lemmings Main / Re: A Tribute To The Forsaken SuperLemming (1991-1991)
« on: March 23, 2020, 12:40:47 am »
Briefly resurrected some years later by the Lemmings community as an optional gimmick in NeoLemmix 1.43, the SuperLemming enjoyed something of an unofficial return to glory, only to be further rejected, maligned and eventually removed from the game with no hope of ever returning.

Superlemming did not make it's first appearance in the custom level scene in Neolemmix 1.43 . It had appeared before on Custlemm and Lemmix , back when the custom levels scene , was just beginning ( and before Neolemmix existed ).

For example the level I mentioned in my post was a Custlemm level (and had been posted in the database in 2008)

But the fact is that in any program it had appeared , it was very underused. Very very few custom levels used it . It never gained traction in the custom levels scene.

Hi! I bump this thread again , to post a level that I had modified from the Lemmix version of Revenge of the Lemmings v1 , some years ago . The level is "All that a Basher can Do" by Dodochacalo . The level was in the beta the Lemmix version of RotL , but It was about to be replaced , because in order to be solved , it required a Lemmini-only glitch (unfortunately we never had a final version of RotL for Lemmix . It only remained in beta) .

My modifications here , make the level possible to be solved , without the use of that Lemmini-only glitch. It is a non-glitch level now , but also it's intended solution is close to the original one.

One thing to know , is that the level has 4 hidden traps ( at the two open spaces in the left of the level ) . I Tried  to make them visible , but unfortunately I couldn't , because in that case , their trigger areas would end being completely inside the terrain.

I have also attached the replay of the solution . Level has been tested on "Dos original lemmings" viewing style , and the replay is viewable  on "Dos original lemmings" viewing style.

For next step I will try to implement the feature that the new player EricLang develops , for MP3 support , for both this level and my own level (Unreachable Heights)

First of all , I  really like talismans of any kind !  Imo , talismans is one of the best features Neolemmix introduced .

Talismans are practically challenge solutions , but for custom levels .

And which are the most popular challenges that you can find in gaming ? Speedruns ( and scoreruns too ) . There is a reason why shows like AGDQ are so popular worldwide .

The most viewed challenge solution for lemmings on youtube is Lord Tom's TAS . Also at the past Gronkling had made some really impressive TAS videos here , and the people on the Lemmings Speedrunning thread , are making great job there . I personally had made at the past , a thread highliting some TAS creators that weren't that known by the community before , and I found their TAS videos very impressve !

So my opinion about speedrun based talismans ? Go for it ! Make as many as you wish !

Things like these should not be discouraged at all . Also the challenges board should have also dedicated threads for speed records imo.

General Discussion / Re: The general football thread

Hi Swerdis! It's very nice that you follow a team from the lower leagues of your country! I often watch matches from 3 clubs from the lower leagues of my country ,  but the main reason is that I have some connection with the places they belong ( and all three share the same name with the places they belong , they are practically the local clubs of these towns ) . First one is Kallithea .
Kallithea is a suburb of Athens , and it is the place where I live. Second one is Kalamata . Kalamata is the town my mother has been born , it's a town in southern Peloponnese and we also own a house in a small village near it. Third one is Petralona . Petralona is a  neighbor suburb of Athens ( you can easily go there from my home by feet ) . Also  a very popular football journalist of my country , supports them ( he lives there too ) , and he often analyses their matches .

As for what you are saying about the Champions League having always the same teams performing well , that is correct , and the main reason are the insane costs that you need to pay in the transfer market , to have lots of world class players on your team. Also the huge revenue that the teams which participate in Champions League enjoy , can create large disparities in their national leagues , compared to the teams that they don't have that privilence . That is not so visible in the large countries with popular leagues ( like Germany , England or Spain ) , because they broadcast their leagues to many other countries and they get a lot of revenue , that helps them imo to balance things out a little bit.

For example here in Greece , if you have subscribed to the tv stations me and my father have subscribed , you can easily watch many of the Bundesliga matches . And if you miss a match , you have even the option to watch it later or one of the following days " on demand" on your tablet.

Smaller counties with smaller leagues that also have one of their teams participating in the Champions League , have the potential for larger disparity problems imo . For example for many of the previous years , Olympiakos here in Greece had a very large edge compared to their main competitors ( like AEK or PAOK ) , but at the last 2-3 years they have lost that edge , mainly due to the bad habit the president of the club has , to sell lots of the good players of the club .
