Just a quick update: there will be no video uploaded this Monday (June 3, 2019). Sorry for the inconvenience :)

@SQron your Rule 1 level is now solved :) I managed to finish the solution Arty started on stream today. I consider this solution a joint operation... heh :P

Finally started the contest levels

But I have only solved 6 levels and have 2 attempt replays so far though :XD:

Colorful Arty

Legend of Fantasy Castle! - Very beautiful level! It seems that this level is open-ended but hopefully my solution is interesting enough ;)

Storming the City at Night - This one was also amazing. This one felt open-ended but the skillset was a lot more restrictive than I thought at first. Loved the use of the rain object and the music in this level as well.

nin10doadict

Dive On In - I had to re-add the water updraft object on my side to make the level work because I got an error. Also a nice level that uses that updraft. I may have done something unintended as I had some skills left over though, but I think I got the main idea. Nice use of the Wave Man track here as well.

<3 - Cute level. I think I may have backrouted it but I still like the look of the level with the tileset you used.

IchoTolot

Shadows of Ourselves - I made a lot of serious attempts on this level but no luck yet. I have an attempt replay that fails by only one skill. Regardless, very nice level and nice use of the tileset.

Catacomb of Sorrow - I haven't attempted this one yet. Will soon!

Proxima

Here Be Dragons - Very nice level here. It was a fun puzzle to solve trying to figure out how to get through the tricky terrain with the limited skillset. Nice.

SQron

Running Through Castles - Beautiful level! I haven't been able to make any good progress on it yet but I have a feeling it's going to take me a while. Heh :S Very nice regardless and love the music.

Less Than Ten Pints - Another interesting looking level. Despite the low save requirement I can't figure this one out yet. Also love the music in this one.

Crane

Blood Born - Seems that the backroute-proofing worked because I am still not sure how to solve this one yet.

Are you kidding me? - This one as well although I did manage to get an attempt replay to show off the main idea I'm going for. Still a nice level and love the title.

The Tomato Watcher

Wish Away The Wells - Nice level. I like the way the well terrain was used. Also the skillset was not super punishing but still had to be used very wisely. Good work.

I agree that the Lemmings and Lix Fangame is a good place to at least start but as mentioned it hasn't been updated in a long while. I'm going to try to slowly start updating it soon and hopefully try to make some kind of list for what needs to be updated as well. In the meantime I think you can also check the Levels for v10 or older as another good starting place.

Quote from: namidaSounds good. These should, in my opinion, be added to the styles download, and used by the respective styles' themes - does anyone disagree (ie: would prefer to keep the L1 lemming sprites in the respective L2 styles)?

Alright so since it's been more or less a week and no one has rejected this proposal during that time then I think it's safe to say that we can proceed with this. I'll go ahead and send all the L2 sprites later on today when I get home :)

As a reminder they will be the following as these are merely recolors of the L1 sprites to match the palette of their respective L2 look:
- L2 Shadow
- L2 Highland
- L2 Beach

So for those of you who are not aware I have finally started getting back into making YouTube videos (with a new mic) and I thought it wouldn't hurt to advertise it. I'm trying to keep a concrete schedule of uploading a video every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for now until further notice.

Current and Upcoming YouTube LP Projects:

- Mega Man Rock Force (Starts June 24th): Another 8-bit NES Mega Man fan game.

- Sonic 3 & Knuckles: The final game in the Genesis Sonic trilogy. I already finished the first two and attempted a blind run of the third game before my break. Fantastic game... but I really wasn't enjoying recording it blind, so I decided to just do a non-blind run to finish the trilogy off nicely.

- Mega Man Unlimited Perfect Runs (Every Friday if possible / Playlist): Beating as many levels as possible with no damage and buster only. Inspired by Roahm Mythril's Perfect Runs of the official games.

Very Far Into The Future Projects:

- Lemmings Destination Creator Commentary

Completed Projects:

- Mega Man Unlimited (Playlist)

General Discussion / Re: Dreams
May 28, 2019, 01:48:13 AM
Had some interesting dreams recently worth talking about.

A while back I had a dream where I was in an uncertain location that I want to say was a miniature golf course. I don't remember actually playing any games and I was with someone but I don't remember who they were. The only thing I remember was being thirsty. Very thirsty, and I wasn't going to get a chance to get a refreshing drink of water for a long while. However, I did notice a facet sticking out of one of the walls that ran across the second floor of the golf course. There was also a somewhat rusty cup attached to a chain that was attached to the same wall. I decided to grab that cup, fill it with water from the facet, and drink (but please keep in mind that I would NEVER do that in real life no matter how thirsty I was :P). The water felt warm but it was drinkable for the first few seconds. Suddenly a horrible taste overwhelmed me. It was from the water and it was just plain disgusting. In fact, it was so disgusting that when I woke up I still had that horrible taste in my mouth. Believe it or not, it didn't go away until I had lunch that same day.

So fast forward to last night and something similar happened. This time I was at a party. It seemed somewhat fancy but not too fancy at the same time. I was sitting at a large table with people that I never saw the face of and we were waiting for dinner. Before the main course there was a tray placed in the center with some finger food. One of them was something that looked like a stick (like an actual small branch from a small tree) with either the logo of the person hosting the party or the name of that person. I took a bite and yet again that overwhelming disgust returned to me. This time the taste only lasted a little bit after waking up and not until mid-day.

Sooo... yeah. I'm thinking the second dream might have actually been caused by my brain remembering the first dream and trying to make sense of that stimuli by incorporating it into that other dream. This has actually happened several times in other dreams where I seem to remember a previous dream in another dream and they end up sharing that similar "plot".

Made a little bit more progress on this pack.

Spoiler

Mini Mayhem - Finally figure this one out... and it's amazing  I did read the hint for this level but I was already thinking along the same lines. All I had to do was figure out where the blocker actually went and everything else slowly fell into place.

Snow Place Like Home - Still can't figure this one out despite the hint.

Mastery of Malice - Not 100% sure if this one is intended but still a good level.

Are they actual sprites from L2 (with additions for the NL-specific skills, of course) - or at least close to their color scheme - or are they just "here's some lemming sprites that work well with that style"? If it's the former, I suggest we look at integrating them into the NL download. Otherwise, they should be made part of a custom style (at which point they could, in that form, be added to the download). I can say now that I do not want custom lemming sprites for my styles, so the Machine ones would need to be added to a custom style if they're to make it in.

The custom sprites for L2 Shadow and Highland were meant to match the sprites from the original L2 game exactly (it seems that L2 Beach is also meant to do this) so I think it would be safe and possible to integrate them into the NL download. I'll get to work on updating them with the Shimmier if there are no objections :)

And that my friend... is intended

"A Quiet Place" V5! ;)

Getting very close now but some stuff is still wrong.
#162
A big congratulations tan x dx on your win!

Also congrats to namida for 2nd place and kieranmillar for his 3rd place level.

Manged to finally start this pack  So far this pack is definitely the high difficulty it promised with very, very good levels. Even some first rank levels took me a while to solve (and some not even yet).

Spoiler

Keep Your Lemmings Close - Nice level with lots of well placed misdirection paths you can fall for.

Lemming Rotation Club - I might have backrouted this one.

Easier Back In The Day... - Took me a while to spot this one and I love the little joke with the title because of instant drops into the exit back in the day :P

Blitzoff - This was an excellent level. Once I finally realized that I couldn't actually contain the crowd the solution fell into place.

Twisted Track - This was my other favorite from this rank. This time it was when I realized that I actually couldn't build straight to the top of the twisted tracks of the level the solution fell into place.

Started From The Bottom... - Not sure if this solution was intended but the little trick of smoothing out the rock face for a climber to go up ahead brought back Lemmings Plus I memories where I did the same thing to solve Cavern Of Chills.

"Mini Mayhem" and "Snow Place Like Home" are the ones that I haven't been able to solve yet.

That's quite a story grams88! I also think it's important to try something new once in a while to step out of your comfort zone. I think it's too easy to think about everything that could go wrong when you try something out of your comfort zone and it stops the person from trying and sometimes they try it, have a bad experience, and it affects their ability to try something new again in the future. Despite that I think it's always good to prepare for the worst so you can focus on the best which you did by emailing the people about their safety record.

All tilesets in this list have now been converted, so this topic will now be unstickied and locked.
