Hello all,

Those green checks you get when clearing levels/ranks/packs, I love to collect and see them.
But I lost them all, dont know how. My auto replays are still here though, in their dedicated folders.

So question : what did I do to lose the green checks, and how can I get them back ?
Also side-question : what is the difference between green check and orange check ?

Thanks for any help.

Save One level pack : do you have what it takes to save one Lemming ?

There are various reasons, that the green checks on cleared levels/packs may disappear , as far as I know.

One of these is if you change your username on the Neolemmix settings. Another may be  ( if I'm correct ) if you use the "clear records" option, on the level select menu . There is also a dedicated file on the settings folder (userdata.nxsv) , where the catalogue of the levels you have completed and other stuff like max savings are stored. If that file will get deleted, these green checks will most probably disappear.

Fortunately it is very easy to restore these green checks. You need to run a mass replay check on the levels and packs you have completed and they will be restored.

Orange check on a level means that you have a newer version of the level now , compared to the version you had when you completed the level. That may be due to a large change like a backroute fix , or even due to small changes , like a small visual change for example.
If these changes don't affect your solution, then running your replay or doing a mass replay check will make it become green again.

Thank you for detailed explanations Turrican.

I think green checks were lost because of the Clear Records button, used unwillingly. It is worth noting that the Mass Replay Check is in the advanced level selection option, have to toggle them in the options if it does not appear.

Now I could get my checks back, all good.

I'm opening this question again : my green checks keep disappearing regularly, for apparently no reason.

As Turrican explained above, I did not (for sure) used the "clear records" button, nor changed any settings or deleted any files userdata.nxsv in my installation. However all my green checks still disappear regularly, like once every 2-3 weeks.

Of course I can restore them with Mass Replay Checks, but this takes some time and I am not even sure which pack I need to run the replay on. I also noticed that the Mass Replay Check may not validate each level (some of them appear as failed), but when I run the replay manually, it validates. This is not the biggest trouble though.

Finally it may be worth noting that I run the game on Ubuntu via Wine. Any idea on why my green checks disappear now ? I love to see them, reminds me that I can actually clear levels and helps me move forward to the next.

Are you using CE or NL 12.14? Please note that no further updates will be made to NL 12.14 - However, since this involves user data loss, namida may wish to make an exception in this case (although this can't be guaranteed).

In the event that this issue isn't resolved in NL 12.14, I'd recommend giving CE (Community Edition) a try. There is now a Show/Hide button in the Level Select menu which shows/hides the Advanced Options tab (so, no need to change the settings). This will at least make it a bit quicker to get to the Mass Replay Check (now called "Replay Manager").

Also, CE's Replay Manager allows you to append the result of each check to the replay's filename, making it much quicker to find replays that haven't passed validation for whatever reason. This should at least help to streamline the process a bit.

Regarding the checkmarks being lost: next time it happens (in either version, NL or CE), please check the following immediately:

1) Is the settings\userdata.nxsv file present?
2) Is the settings\userdata.nxsv file populated with your level progress data?
3) At the top of the settings\settings.ini file, what are the values for "LastVersion=" and "UserName="?

This should help to narrow down exactly what the issue is. Best guess is that the userdata.nxsv file isn't being read from in certain circumstances, but if the data itself is being wiped that's a pretty big problem that we could do with fixing.
