I actually find it kind of interesting that this was a one-person answer, as it's the only game system I can think of that solely uses DVD discs for its games. Playstation 2 also has some games that are on CD discs (especially those released early in the PS2's life cycle), while Xbox 360 also has downloadable games. And PC has too many storage media to count. (Actually, I guess GameCube is also DVD only... is it?)

Minim’s round
#2. Yes, Spice Girls would have been an obvious non-US answer. Like already said by other people, there is no wrong answers in Family Feud, this is not a quiz. In rare cases there can be restrictions, like Mexico answer in my first round and question 8 of ccexplore’s round to make things clear.
#3. Having just watched John Carpenter’s classic Halloween…

Question 11 seemed a little overbalanced points-wise, although it would seem it didn't affect the final outcomes at all.

I know that this is just my opinion but I don’t care at all the non-standard scoring questions. Giving them lots of influence to the outcome is something I approve even less, but I know that there are people who like non-standard scoring questions, so it’s of course okay to have those in some (the most ) rounds. I see them just luck-based and mostly not interesting (a very rare exceptions are conga line and robot dance club questions).

Where is everyone? We only have six people who've submitted answers so far... T_T

Hard questions, like you now noticed from the amount of factual errors. I could answer only like 3/10 questions immediately and there were some questions I didn’t even understand reading them the first time, like #2. After searching for some information this round was pretty fun, though.

#5. My round jinxed. Weird that some people changed their answers to some non-top answer from my round, also what’s with CoD?

Very inaccurate - the PS2 is the only one that uses DVDs (and as mentioned, even it doesn't always use them, but they are it's "primary" media). PS1 uses only CD-ROM, while PS3 and PS4 only use either blu-ray or downloadable.

I haven't thought at all how Hamsters was an IRS outside of the Lemmings series, when I explained how a non-Lemmings IRS coined the term "IRS". This violates the single rule I've made up for the feud myself: Don't blatantly discuss possible answers ahead of resolution.

The past rounds had a good chunk of unexpected (for me at least) top answers. This is what makes a good feud, you're both reasonably sure of your answers, and still excited about the resolution.

The need to goolge information, I agree it's nice to keep it small.

It works like normal, except that each question has a prohibited answer (the ones listed with the questions). For example, if you were to answer "red" to question 1, you'd get 0 points, since "red" is the prohibited answer. Beyond that, you're still trying to get the most popular answer.

Especially with such a small variety, there are some further answers I would've considered equivalent (since they're of a similar standard to "sofa" and "couch" which you did consider equivalent):

"Whale" / "Blue whale"
"Modem" / "Router" - I know from a purely technical point of view they're different things, but in average conversation they're often considered interchangable. To be perfeclty honest, I'm not even 100% sure myself what differentiates the two.
"Sitcom" / "Comedy"


While it goes without saying that I don't call all the shots here (except maybe on my rounds), I'd like to suggest for future rounds as a guideline (not nessecerially a hard-and-fast rule), "If you need to explain why you didn't consider two answers equivalent, first reconsider whether you really shouldn't treat them as equivalent'.


However, nitpicking aside, that was definitely a very interest concept for a round, it's a shame more people didn't enter. Perhaps we should try that concept again, but maybe with a longer entry period?

These things have influenced the scoring, right.

(Wifi transmitter = Router = Modem), I recognize how average people won't tell them all apart. Should the knowledge of average people influence the outcome? We can use average people's definitions of things, or instead the opinion of slightly more caring people like Wiki authors and Q&A site answerers, or instead the opinion of experts.

(Blue Whale = Whale) would have made Akseli the single winner. When I entered this round, I thought about whether Blue Whale, or Whale, was better to put. The subclass rule is clear how they aren't equivalent.

Do you perceive a problem with definitions, or do you find the subclass rule an issue?

If you need to explain why you didn't consider two answers equivalent, first reconsider whether you really shouldn't treat them as equivalent.

This suggestion seems empty -- when the host explains a decision, they have made a nontrivial decision, and therefore have considered merging/not merging answers.  Do you suggest to treat more stuff equivalent in general?

Huh.  I guess I am a bit of a dinosaur then, as my cable modem and my WiFi router are two separate pieces of equipment.  Granted, they were obtained nearly 8-9 years ago so maybe things have changed.  Still, I have a hard time agreeing with treating the two as equivalent.  I mean, your average Joe probably thinks all tablets are iPads, I'm not sure that's good enough criteria for equivalence.

This is in direct conflict with the subclass rule:

When all As are Bs, but not all Bs are As, then A and B are different feud answers.

As asked above, do you suggest to soften this rule? It's been like this since 2013 though. Or do you suggest coarsening word definitions (router/modem)?

The problem with losing the subclass rule: Answering "thing" to each question is then guaranteed to match every other answer.
