Are you ready? Enjoy 40 levels with five new graphic styles! Below are the two ranks in this level pack, 20 levels each:

Painless (Easy to Medium)
Nuisance (Medium to Hard)

NeoLemmix Player is required to play this level pack. There is room for more levels, perhaps an even harder rank will added sometime in the future. Keep that in mind as a good possibility.

Firstly, congratulations on your release, @Mobiethian - it's a very nice pack! Thanks for allowing me to playtest :) I won't attach all of my replays as you've seen most of them already, but I did find that you'd updated a couple of levels in the Nuisance rank to the point where my previous replays no longer worked; namely When the Whistles Blow and The Aquatic Ruins. I'll attach replays for my new solutions to these levels. On the latter, gotta say great job to you and @kaywhyn - this is an excellent level, one of my favourites of the pack, actually! Cutting down on the number of builders has made it really quite tricky. To my mind, the hardest level of the pack though is @Armani's The Chosen One, another favourite of mine as it showcases a couple of neat mechanisms/tricks that I hadn't seen before. Overall, a very nice-looking pack (great use of some lovely tilesets), with a ton of enjoyable challenges. Look forward to your next one!

First, congratulations on the release!

I have one question regarding the downloads:
Are the custom sound effects optional and overwrite the standard ones?  ???
If they are indeed replacements for the standard ones I would place a hint in the first post to backup the files you going to overwrite so you have the option to switch back.

Thanks IchoTolot I would suggest this and I let Guigui know as well a little while ago. Perhaps a player can make a backup copy of the original sounds - if you wish to use the custom sounds. Then overwrite them from the backup when you need the originals back. :) I hope that makes sense. I usually have a copy of NeoLemmix in each level pack. It's a habit and it works great. I hope this helps! 8-)

In answer to your question about it being optional, it is. They don't need to be used at all actually.

Thanks for the clarification about custom sound FX.

As for custom music, I encounter an issue where I download HQ Music.rar file but then I cannot unrar it. I think this has to do with my Linux system that does not handle .rar files correctly.

Anyone kind enough to compress the music in another format like .zip for me to be able to access it ?

Save One level pack : do you have what it takes to save one Lemming ?
16 levels of medium-hard difficulty.

Hey Guigui  :) You can just install p7zip for Linux for free - that can extract RAR files.

Hi Mobiethian!

Congrats on your new level pack, these levels are incredible!

I managed to complete every level, although I think some of my solutions for the later levels may be backroutes (see attached replays)

Spoiler
The 'Prepare' rank was quite easy and very enjoyable, the levels are beautifully decorated and often reminded me of levels from the original lemmings game. As an added challenge, I tried to save 100% on each of these levels, which was also very fun.

My favourites from this rank are probably "Tree Trunk Labyrinth", "A Sacred Vault", "Down in the Root Cellar", "A Little Flower Walk", and "Valley of the Mushrooms". The latter three especially were quite fun since they were quite tricky to save every Lemming. I also really like the designs of "Construction Function", "The Steel City" and "Caught in Liminal Space".

I found the 'Nuisance' rank to be much harder, some of the later levels really got me thinking. My favourite is "The Chosen One". I think it's really great level to end out on due to its high difficulty. Solving this one felt really rewarding, since it forces you to think critically and piece together the solution based on the odd skill selection and save requirement. "Mesmerizing", "Hoppin' On the Groove Line", "In the Rear with the Gear", "Glow in the Dark Pool" "Deep Chasm of Coinage" and "Terrarium" were also really fun, although I wasn't able to get the talisman for the latter.

By far the hardest for me was "Mirror World", it took me hours to solve, and I'm fairly certain my solution is a backroute, but I'm at a loss for ideas on how to proceed otherwise. "Down the Rabbit Hole" was also a really tricky level that I think I backrouted.

Also, just FYI, in the level "When the Whistles Blow" the steam on the far right side of the level doesn't kill the lemmings - it needs to be 1 pixel lower so they don't walk under it.

Overall, this pack was really fun to play through and I feel honoured that it uses my tilesets. Thank you so much!

Currently playing this pack and having a really good time.
I'm quite close to the end but I have mainly The Chosen One and Lemming Free Sugar Aid left to overcome.

For now I'd like to talk about the level Mirror World, spoiler needed I guess.

Spoiler
I could clear it with what looks like a backroute since I spare the shimmier skill. Then I looked at Dexter's solution who also states he has a backroute. His is quite similar to mine, except I use heavier timing things to make the left bunch of Lemmings turn around in time before splatting from the digger pit on the right side. Joining my solution if anyone is interested.

Looking at Dexter's solution I also noticed that he makes a pionner use the reversed exit with a shimmier skill, good job!
This never occured to me because the Clear Physics Mode shows me that the exit trigger is actually floating in the air, so seemingly not reachable from where Dexter reaches it. I'm joining a CPM screenshot where you can see the exit trigger floating in the air, and Dexter's lemming exiting while not going over this trigger.
So questions : is this a bug in the display ? Do all of you see the exit trigger floating in the air or is it just me ?

Armani

Thank you very much for playing our pack!  I'll attach my own solutions to my levels, including the talisman solutions, so you can compare them with yours if you want! I also updated one of my level. :forehead: (Down the Rabbit Hole)

@Dexter
Spoiler
Mesmerizing
Intended!

Mirror World
There's a minor difference between my solution and yours, but yours is perfectly acceptable too. ;)

In the Rear with the Gear
Intended!

Down the Rabbit Hole
This one I may call a backroute. :(

Terrarium
Acceptable solution! I'll attach my talisman solution below!

The Chosen One
Perfect solution! Yeah, the skillset is a bit unusual. When I made the level, I first chose several skills and limited myself to using only those, and then tried to find interesting interactions between skill types that don't normally interact much. :santa:

@Guigui
Spoiler
Mirror World
I'd consider both your solution and Dexter's acceptable. ;)  The main idea I had in mind for this level was figuring out how to make a splatform with two builders so that the crowds from both sides can land safely. I'll attach my solution below.

The trigger areas of exits(and most other objects) have fixed relative positions. Because of that, rotating/flipping/inverting them can sometimes make the trigger areas look visually odd. That's why people usually avoid things like inverted traps or water except for aesthetic purposes, at least not in ways where the unusual trigger areas affect the solution. :XD:

That said, if someone asked me "Should a shimmiering lemming be able to use an exit attached to the ceiling he's shimmiering along?" my answer would be yes becuase it looks so natural! And in the same way, a shimmiering lemming can press a button attached to the ceiling. ;)

The Chosen One
Good luck with this level! Let me know if you'd like a hint. 8-)
My upcoming NeoLemmix level pack: In-development topic 8-)

My NeoLemmix level packs(in chronological order):
  Lemmings Uncharted
  Xmas Lemmings 2021
  Lemmings Halloween 2023
Holiday Lemmings 2024 - a collaboration pack with Mobiethian :D

Guigui

Thank you for your answer to my interrogation on The Mirror World Armani :

Spoiler
I totally agree with you : it makes perfect sense that a shimmier can access a reversed exit like it happens here.
What lead me to think that it was not possible here, is that in CPM the exit trigger appears floating in the air, and not buried in the ground (well, ceiling in this case) like it usually does.
But then again this makes sense with the way the engine works : the feet of the Lemmings (precisely the red star under them visible in CPM) touches the trigger area when shimmiering, so all good !

I'm almost done with the pack now : only the talisman on Terrarium is not achieved : I can save 43, but not 44 yet.

I could also clear The Chosen One without help, so pretty glad about it. I confirm this level uses unusual skills, and yet more unusual interactions between them! Gotta remember the NL Introduction Pack, advanced training to know some of them.

My route through The Chosen One was quite long and fulfilling. It unfolded like this
Spoiler
1) Figure out how to push all those buttons. As I remember from a level in contest 33 by Icho, you have to build some of your own shimmiable ceilings here. Also use the slider correctly.

2) Seeing the strict save requirement of 18/20, and the 2 stoners available, realize that I need to save this button pusher ; save The Chosen One himself !
This was the hardest part for me as all my attempts before that used the single digger elsewhere to either contain/free the crowd or make a way. So I had to spare that digger to save the Chosen One and this is where 3) comes into place.

3) Release the climbers correctly at the beginning to contain/free the crowd correctly w/o using the digger and stacker. This was not that hard actually.

4) Have a heartattack when ready to finally dig-save the Chosen One with the other climber at the end : digging in a diagonal floor leaves that little pixel triangle that prevents climbers from climbing  :XD:
Then I spent 15 more minutes trying to find another place to extract the Chosen One from down here, no success. Then I saw this extra stacker and understood the unbelievable combo : stacker + climber + digger = save The Chosen One

5) Have a last rush of tension when I saw that evil Armani put a flip down there, instead of a boring non climbable wall, so that the Chosen One has a limited amount of survival time before falling to its doom.
Fortunately my digger finished its pit some 20 frames before the Chosen One came back, and they could all go together to the exit. Oh Wow !

Thank you for the ride Mobiethian and Armani, I had a very good time with the pack.
