Contests / Re: Level of the Year: 2023!

I simply didn't see it in the list since it wasn't in the expected position!  My fault.

Good luck everybody!

The current nominations list I don't think contains all of the nominated levels... does it?

I think it's easier if I list my levels that are eligible from Lemmings Cranium:

- Cute 13: "The Needs of the Few" (repeat of Curious 24)
- Cute 20: "Tia Na Nog" (repeat of Chaos 22)
- Curious 10: "One Step Back"
- Curious 12: "Just Try It!"
- Curious 24: "Mincemeat"
- Curious 26: "Virtue?"
- Cunning 4: "Supersaturation"
- Cunning 12: "Around the Block"
- Cunning 16: "Just a Little Closer..."
- Cunning 19: "Shim-Shimminy, Shim-Shimminy"
- Cunning 22: "Water Hammer"
- Cunning 25: "The Ziggurat"
- Chaos 4: "Containment"
- Chaos 7: "Don't Bother!"
- Chaos 12: "Chilly Disposition"
- Chaos 13: "Cliffside Hostel"
- Chaos 14: "There's One Small Problem..."
- Chaos 17: "Divisive Action"
- Chaos 21: "Think Fast!"
- Chaos 22: "Hallowed Ground"
- Chaos 24: "Halls of Reflection"

NeoLemmix Main / Re: Future of NeoLemmix development
« on: March 06, 2024, 04:07:59 PM »
One thing I would like to do one day is get NeoLemmix working on the Raspberry Pi.

It is a bit of an undertaking though because besides porting the source code over to the Free Pascal Compiler, I'll probably need to make some AArch64-specific assembly language improvements to the GraphicEx library, if their maintainers would permit.  The Bass library, despite being closed-source, does have an AArch64 binary available.

Granted I'm only suggesting this because I frequently contribute to the Free Pascal Compiler, and recently have been focusing on improving the generated code for the AArch64 implementation.

Okay, version 1.06 contained a critical bug in that Cunning 17 was impossible to complete (at least intentionally) because I was experimenting with something that somehow did not get reverted.  So 1.07 has now been released (see first post), a bit earlier than I had hoped, but it also allowed me to insert the correct version of Curious 17 as well (it was meant to have a backroute patched in 1.06, but had uploaded the unpatched version).

EVERYONE I recommend you download 1.07 as soon as possible because of the glitched Cunning 17 in 1.06

Hmmm, may be tricky to determine in places since a few levels went through early prototypes before being finalised.  I guess it's up to IchoTolot's discretion as to whether a level is eligible or not when it's voted for.

Thank you for your feedback kaywhyn.  Your playthrough has been incredibly insightful and I'm glad you enjoyed playing it.  I made some changes and rearrangements and now version 1.06 has been released (see first post for the download link).

NeoLemmix Main / Re: First Note: DonĀ“T Make it

Please don't speak for me, MASTER-88.  I may get frustrated when levels of mine get broken, but not angry at the solver, and I would certainly not kill them.

Lemmings Cranium is designed for NeoLemmix and I think all the levels use well-established mechanics and try to avoid those that are questionable (e.g. a blocker stopping a basher mid-stroke in such a way that the blocker is also released). More than anything, I try for my levels to be fair.

Level Design / Re: Best way avoid make backroutes?
« on: October 07, 2023, 03:20:52 PM »
One thing I learnt from Armani is that levels that make use of Builders are much more likely to be backrouted because of how powerful the tool is, so levels that rely on Builder tricks generally can't rely on much else.

Oh whoops, yes that time limit reduction applies to Stonecrest Bay.

Thank you so much for the help MASTER-88, and I'm glad I inspired you!  Version 1.05 has been released!  Find the updated links and downloads on the first post (the music ZIP has had some missing files added - let me know if I forgot any).

So a couple of Chaos levels are currently broken and I'm trying to think how to patch or redesign them.  It's a little frustrating, but that's the nature of things sometimes.

13
You've done nothing wrong - relax!

14
Oh yeah, spoilers above!

There isn't room for your genius trick on SUNSOFT Swindle in the pack unfortunately, unless another level gets completely broken and has to be replaced.  But I am saving the idea for something in the future maybe.

Still patching other levels though.
