Hey everyone, and happy new year!
I'm thrilled to announce a sequel to my 'Lemmings Faithful' style pack:

Let's Go - More Faithful!

Like Lemmings Faithful, this pack uses a limited colour palette in the style of the original / ohno styles.
(For a more detailed explanation on this, see the Lemmings Faithful post: https://www.lemmingsforums.net/index.php?topic=6713.0)

However, while my previous pack was all about mimicking the original styles as closely as possible, this new pack takes things in a slightly different direction. Here, I've attempted to push my skills to the limit and see how much I can accomplish while still adhering to the palette restrictions.
The new styles have a more 'adventure-y' feel to them, as I drew inspiration from other sources, not just the original lemmings games.

The new styles are:
Jade - A tranquil, east Asian themed style. This is a naturalistic style, with mountainous rocks and moss, as well as bamboo and cherry blossom.
Spoiler

Lush - A dense, tropical jungle, filled with tangled vines and giant flowers. Loosely inspired by the 'Lush' season from 'Don't Starve: Hamlet', where this style derives its name.
Spoiler

Hoard - The volcanic hoard of a dragon, filled to the brim with gold and treasure. Loosely inspired by 'bastion remnants' from 'Minecraft', as well as the underworld from 'Terraria'. Credit to WillLem for suggesting a gold themed style several months ago!
Spoiler

Brass - A steampunk-inspired nautical base - lots of machinery, hydraulics, pipes and cogs. This style has a heavy emphasis on water, and the ocean depths.
Spoiler

Grotto - Ancient magical ruins, with bioluminescent flora and fauna. Inspired by the 'Submachine' series, as well as the 'glowing mushroom biome' from 'Terraria'.

To accompany this, I've also updated the 'Lemmings Faithful' showcase pack to include two new ranks featuring the new tilesets. Like the previous ranks, the levels are intended to be quite easy, but have some tricky talismans for more advanced players. Be sure to check it out!

Making these styles was an absolute joy, and I hope you enjoy them!

Let me know what you think, or if there are any issues!

EDIT - Version 2: fixed 'Lush' style's steel not having .NXMT files, and therefore being destructible

EDIT - Version 3: major changes for the pipes in dex_brass - several of the 'pipe_45_bend' pieces (and their steel varients) had a major graphical error, and have since been replaced (see the below changelog for a full list of all the affected terrain pieces).
Special thanks to Mindless for letting me know about this error, and for providing a fix - very much appreciate your help .

(Also updated the dragon exits in dex_hoard to have lower digits when set to a limited amount - this is just a aesthetic change and should have no effect on gameplay)

IMPORTANT - Please delete the old version of 'dex_brass' and download the above fixed version to prevent duplicates of terrain - (the editor will automatically rename the relevant pieces upon saving a level)

If there are any issues or problems with the above changes, please let me know immediately, and I will try to fix them as soon as possible. Thank you!

Hey everyone!
I'm pleased to present my new level pack, 'Lemmings Faithful' - another collaboration with my brother, tan x dx!

You'll need to first download its accompanying style pack here:

https://www.lemmingsforums.net/index.php?topic=6713.0

As I explain in that thread, the gimmick behind these new styles is that they are designed to mimic the style of the original/ohno colour palettes as closely as possible.

This level pack is meant to show off the terrain pieces and objects of the 5 new styles that I created.

There are twenty levels in total, divided into two ranks.
The first rank is very easy - suitable for beginners.
The second rank is slightly harder, but still relatively easy.
The levels have multiple solutions and aren't intended to have any specific solution as the 'correct' one.

If you're a more advanced player looking for a challenge, each level also has an accompanying talisman, some of which are very difficult to obtain!

Here are some screenshots:

UPDATE - Two new ranks!
To showcase the release of my latest style pack "Let's Go - More Faithful", my brother and I have done two more ranks for this pack.
The new ranks, ('Safe' and 'Treacherous') follow the exact same formula as the first two ranks. (I.e., an easy rank and a slightly harder rank, with each level having a challenging talisman).

You'll need to download the new styles if you haven't done so already:
https://www.lemmingsforums.net/index.php?topic=7026.0

Here are some more screenshots of the new ranks:

UPDATE - updated the 'Brass' levels in safe/treacherous rank to use the updated terrain and remove deprecated pieces. Please make sure you have the relevant update for brass style downloaded before downloading this update!

Hey everyone!
I'm so excited to announce my latest style pack, 'Lemmings Faithful'!

As its name suggests, the gimmick behind these five new styles is that they are trying to be as faithful as possible to the original and ohno styles. This basically means that these styles have a very strict and rigid colour palette, following the same rules as the classic styles as closely as possible, whilst still being visually and thematically distinct.
To clarify, all of these styles:
-Have terrain pieces which use a shared palette of 8 colours maximum.
-Have objects which use those 8 colours, as well as the 'fixed' default colours, much like the classical styles.
-Each RGB colour value used is divisible by 16, resulting in a much more limited selection of possible colours.

(Namida elaborates on this much more in this thread: https://www.lemmingsforums.net/index.php?topic=6686.new;topicseen#new)

The new styles are:

Autumn - Heavily inspired by the 'orig_dirt' style, as well as 'ohno_rock', this is a naturalistic style - a garden during autumn, or a field ready for harvest - with bright golden foliage.
Spoiler

Circuit - A technological style, similar to 'ohno_brick' and 'ohno_bubble', this one features a lot of green motherboards, wires and batteries.
Spoiler

Mosaic - This one is inspired by 'orig_dirt' and 'orig_pillar' - the ancient ruins of a lost civilisation, with a heavy emphasis on water and blue tiles.
Spoiler

Palace - This borrows elements from 'orig_pillar' and 'orig_marble', although it has a much different colour palette! It's rich and palacial, with white marble and gilded mahogany.
Spoiler

Rust - This one's the most similar to 'orig_crystal', in that its palette is all mainly one colour, allowing for more detailed shading. It also has pieces similar to 'ohno_bubble'. It's not quite a junkyard, not quite a sewer and not quite a shantytown!
Spoiler

I've had a bunch of ups and downs when making these styles - at one point I had to completely remake each colour palette from scratch after I mistakenly used too many colours. That was a huge upset, but it definitely taught a lot about reducing a colour palette. Overall, this was a really fun challenge, and I'm really proud of how they all turned out - I feel as though these styles are my best work. I've had a blast making these, and I hope you enjoy using them too!

Be sure to also check out the accompanying level pack, meant to show off each style. The levels are quite easy, but have some very difficult talismans for more experienced players who want a challenge!

Update - version 3.2
Spoiler

Hey everyone!

I'm pleased to announce a small update for the Lemmings Faithful styles.

The above download link has been updated to the new version.

I've added several new objects:

+Skill adders (Palace)
+Skill removers (Palace)
+Neutral adders (Palace)
+Neutral removers (Palace)
+Portals (Each world has its own coloured portal)
+An extra trap for circuit world

Spoiler

The skill adders and removers are adjustable - the height and hitbox can be adjusted.

Currently, the skill adder's height cannot be adjusted, as this resulted in graphical errors with the skill mask icon.
UPDATE - added a shorter version of the skill adder with a much smaller hitbox.

To avoid duplicates, the skill/neutral adders/removers are found in the 'Palace' theme.

Update - version 4
Massive update to the 'circuit' style - added a whole bunch of new terrain pieces, including more wire/cable varieties, braided wires, ribbon wires, computer chip components, diodes, segmented displays, computer fans and more!

The above download link has been updated to the new version.

Special thanks to GigaLem for a bunch of suggestions, and to tan x dx for suggesting the segmented displays!

NeoLemmix Levels / Level pack: LemRunner (2021)
April 09, 2021, 06:56:59 PM
Hello all!

A collaboration between my older brother (tan x dx) and I. This one is based off of an old isometric platformer called LodeRunner 2.

Just like in that game, you must collect all the gold to open the exit!

Make sure you have the latest version of the LemRunner styles!

There are 55 levels in total, split between 5 worlds. Both the levels and the worlds increase in difficulty; if you get stuck on one level, try starting a different world!

You'll need to download the corresponding style packs in order to play this. You can get the styles here:

NeoLemmix Styles / LemRunner Style Packs
April 09, 2021, 06:54:35 PM
Hello all!

I'm 92Dexter11. I am tan x dx's younger brother, and the creator of several lemmings styles, notably the Renaissance Lemmings and Chalkboard Lemmings.
https://www.lemmingsforums.net/index.php?topic=4214.0
https://www.lemmingsforums.net/index.php?topic=4237.0

I'm not as big a Lemmings fan as my brother (although I did play it a bunch when I was growing up), hence why I haven't made an account until now,
I love making graphical content for video games as a hobby, so when my brother suggested that I make some things for the Lemmings forums, I jumped at the opportunity.

Me and my brother agreed that it would be a lot easier if I made my own account to publish my level styles, rather than awkwardly using his account as a proxy, so hello!

Enough about me, let's talk about the new styles.
I've made 5 new style packs for you to use! (well, technically 6, but one of the style packs just contains generic multi-purpose stuff).

They're based off of one of my favourite games of all time, LodeRunner 2.

Background info about the LodeRunner series:
LodeRunner was a platformer ported to various different consoles and systems (much like Lemmings!), in LodeRunner, the game revolves around collecting gold to open an exit while avoiding deadly monks.

LodeRunner2 is a 3D isometric remake of the original game.
I think the worlds in LR2 are so bizarre, creative and intriguing that I wanted to create a Lemmings-based tribute to it.

LodeRunner2 screenshots for comparison:

Each world comes with its own set of music tracks, consisting of quieter ambient tunes and noises. If this is not to your liking, feel free to swap them out to something else.
Also included in the pack are custom completion/failure jingles! Again, if these don't interest you, then feel free to disable them in the NeoLemmix options menu.

I absolutely adore LodeRunner 2's aesthetics, and I thought that they would translate really well into NeoLemmix. It was somewhat tricky to de-make a 3d isometric game into a 2d platformer, but I think I did it justice, and kept the overall feel of the original game.

Get the style packs here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/iwlv37vpzu0lxz6/LemRunnerStylesV5-2.zip?dl=1

My brother and I have also created some puzzles to go along with it! At 50 levels in total, it's our biggest level pack so far. We really spent a long time making it and we hope you'll enjoy the levels as much as we enjoyed making them!

Link to the Level pack:
https://www.lemmingsforums.net/index.php?topic=5536.0

I'll post the solutions pack later on, after you've all had a chance to play it (and, inevitably, find a ton of backroutes that we overlooked!)

Let us know what you think!
