Granted, but the contact lenses are nowhere near your prescription so all you see is a blurry mess.

I wish I worked at a company with better management.

Lemmings Main / Re: Sad Puppy Lemmings (2017, mobile)

I decided to try Sad Puppy's Lemmings and have been playing it for a week.  If you want a classic lemmings puzzle experience this won't even come close.  However if you just want to take a quick mental jog and save a few lemmings on a break at work then this Lemmings game will do just that.

I think the gameplay of the individual levels is pretty good considering that you are playing on a 3 inch touchscreen with your fingers.  However, ads and monetization are almost everywhere outside of the levels themselves.

I can see the potential that this Lemmings has to be a good game but like almost every game you can get on your smartphone it just had to be monetized.

Granted.  You can now successfully complete any project on the second of the month, but that day is the only day of the month you will be able to finish anything.  I hope you don't have more than 12 projects in a year to do.

I wish I did not keep typing the letter 'm' whenever I want to type a comma.

Non-Lemmings Gaming / Re: What video game(s) are you playing at the moment?

I have two relatively new games occupying my gaming time for the last few months.
First game is West of Loathing.  A short description is the game is a comedy western rpg.  An insta-buy for me since I am a long time player of the online rpg Kingdom of Loathing.
The other game is Opus Magnum.  This one is a puzzle game with an alchemy theme to it.  The best new puzzle game this year in my opinion.

I won! :lem-mindblown: Yay!  Really good set of questions, most questions had multiple 'obvious' answers so guessing was tricky.  I actually thought of people in my family that fit the questions and answered accordingly; for example, one of my cousins is a RN so I answered Nurse for question 10.

I would like to host the next game.  I can have set ready tomorrow.

Yay, the new project begins!

I have one level idea right now, attached.  I will almost certainly come up with more ideas.

General Discussion / Re: Post some good recipes here!
« on: November 16, 2017, 05:00:23 am »
I actually do a variation on Colorful Arty's chicken recipe. The biggest difference is tortellini.

2-3 boneless chicken breasts
1 full jar of salsa
1 bag of frozen tortellini
seasoning to taste

Start with the chicken and half the salsa.  Cook in the crockpot until the chicken is almost done.  Shred the chicken and add the rest of the salsa, the tortellini, and seasonings.  Continue cooking until the tortellini and chicken are fully cooked.  Serve with shredded cheese.

NeoLemmix Main / Re: NeoLemmix - Quo vadis?
« on: November 12, 2017, 03:05:13 pm »
I have been following all the design discussions, but not commenting on them much.  To me Lemmings has always been about using skills to navigate the terrain.  In a lot of the culling discussions the items being culled were secondary to that vision, so I had no problems seeing things like splat pads and radiation removed.

It feels to me that when namida was in charge of development he added anything he could implement.  That is not a bad thing but the result is a lot of 'random' features.  Now that Nepster is in charge he wants to try to keep Lemmings to fit a certain vision, and as a result many of the secondary things namida added and are in the current build no longer fit with the vision.  That is what is spurring so many culling discussions, and I think for the long term health of the game it is a good thing.  We take the hit all at once and when the new formats version is out we will have a clean base to add upon.  In his last post Nepster states that currently NeoLemmix is unbalanced and I agree with that sentiment.

I suspect my idea of what NeoLemmix should be like is actually much closer to Nepster's vision than namida's.  But regardless of what my vision is I want NeoLemmix to be a healthy, well polished game.  To do that we need to figure out what is essential and what is not, and if that means some semi-popular things need to be cut then we just need to do it and move on.
