I like the examples from reply #13 more than the examples from reply #12.

I think the author line should be dark blue like the pack and position, to not stand out as much. It's as relevant as the pack and position.

Pack name is nice for livestreaming. People will see excerpts without stream metadata (stream title). Good to orient viewers.

Re long pack names: When you have to trim long pack and position because of long directory names, cut from the left. Or cut from the center. Don't cut from the right. People tend to be happy with the position.

Spacing is a concern for later. Now, if author is missing, there is gap. I don't mind the gap much.

Agreed. If not the same shade (i.e. blue), we can find some other darker shade for this line.

Agreed. At present, the line can be 48 characters max, and then the pack name is omitted.

Maybe keeping the pack name but dropping characters from the center of the string could work...?

So:

SOME RIDICULOUSLY LONG PACK NAME - SOME RIDICULOUSLY LONG GROUP NAME 20

Would become:

SOME RIDICULOUSLY LONG P ... OUSLY LONG GROUP NAME 20

Maybe it's best just to omit the pack name?

The gap is fine as it doesn't appear in the middle of the block, it just elongates the space between the level title and the top visible line of the block.

OK... here's an example of what the Preview screen looks like with:

'Title' and 'Author' in GREEN
'Pack title - Group #' in BLUE
'Save N of N' in GREEN
'N Zombies, N Neutrals' (if present, not shown) in TEAL
'Release Rate / Spawn Interval' in BLUE
'Time Limit' in YELLOW

Honestly, I now think this looks a bit bland.

Note that it's now possible for users (and pack authors) to set their own Preview screen colors. Here are the possible basic colors (we can do all shades in-between, of course):

# EXAMPLE_COLOURS
# 0.300 = PINK
# 0.350 = RED
# 0.450 = ORANGE
# 0.550 = YELLOW
# 0.750 = GREEN
# 0.900 = TEAL
# 0     = BLUE (DEFAULT)
# 0.100 = INDIGO
# 0.250 = VIOLET

I have not read the whole thread precisely, still giving my 2 cents. Feel free to discard post if those have already been discussed about.

Previous screen displays, in this order :

Level name, green

Pack name, rank, position, green.

Author name, green or blue. I think it just make more sense to have author not between level and pack name : you give all infos on the level and its position, then you give credits to its author.

Save n of N of now, green

Do not display RR information. After all this is purely a level solving element, only required when you start thinking how to solve, so not needed here.
One can also say that if you show RR here, then you should also show the skillset, which you definitely do not want at this point.

Time limit yellow if present, infinite time green if not.

Save One level pack : do you have what it takes to save one Lemming ?
16 levels of medium-hard difficulty.
