mobius' videos/streams
« on: November 04, 2016, 02:24:12 AM »
Turns out my last post in the "Lems on youtube" page won't work--I'll be away from most of the afternoon on Saturday. So I may not have an opportunity this weekend. Does Sunday morning work for anybody? (Probably not, but I ask just in case)

But for whenever my next stream may be, I put a poll to see what games people would like to see.

Sunday works for me! If you do a NeoLemmix pack, I'd recommend any of the ones I myself have played on my channel (especially SubLems), but I've heard all of the Lemmings Plus series is good, plus Zemmings Vol 1 (but I may stream that eventually) or any of GigaLems' packs would be good.

There's also Reverse Lemmings, but that pack is kind of meh.

I might get to stream in about 1 and a half hours [12:30 Eastern time]

Lemmings is currently winning so I'll guess I'll do something along those lines.

it'll be on youtube same as before, if you'd like to get on skype as well that'd be awesome.

I didn't stream yesterday for anyone unaware; so you didn't miss anything.
But it's looking like I'll get a more stable time to stream tomorrow, Monday around 2:30 PM Eastern time; that's 5 or 6ish in Europe, earlier in Western US And Canada.

I'll probably be speedrunning Antichamber, then do some random lemmings levels. Antichamber will either go quickly or I'll get stumped and have to give up.

mmm, well if there's not many here to watch well depending on who's here to watch may dictate what I decide to play. If nobody's around I might not stream at all. I'll just wait and see what happens tomorrow...

Sadly it doesn't look like I'll be streaming in the near future. But I'm keeping this topic open  because I'll certainty get time again eventually.

I changed the poll. Don't worry I remembered the votes from the previous poll; Lemmings and Pokemon got the most votes.

If I get to stream again, I'll probably be doing a speedrun of Antichamber then some Lemmings stuff if I have time. Unless my mind changes by then.

Watching Simon and Icho play Nepsters pack makes me want to try this sort of thing again.

I *may* get time to stream this Saturday, in the afternoon (EST). If I do, I'll be streaming pokemon Sapphire, randomized nuzlocke. I might mention something on Discord about this. Although it seems interest in this has died down lately.

Next week I have a four day weekend so I'd like to try to stream then, most likely (if at all) on the Friday or Monday.
I'll probably do a pokemon thing and then requests if there's time. (request for a game that is, requests by people who show up to watch).

for any unaware and interested I've done several more episodes of Marble Drop. I've also started LPing pokemon sapphire randomized nuzlocke; which will be uploaded (first 2 episodes) in a day or so. The game is off to a crazy start!

Oh man, I remember Marble Drop. I still have my disc for it but don't have a computer that can play it. Or maybe I do but don't know how to make it work.
Also where is your YouTube channel? Without a link I doubt I'll find it...

<GigaLem> To be honest i just wish we could be more active for when streams are involved
<mobius`> yeah people seemed to have lost interest in streaming atm
<mobius`> the past couple of times I annoucned I had time to stream nobody seemed interested

I don't care when you merely have time -- I care when you stream a game matching my narrow interests. I watched your Lix community pack attacks, but I wouldn't watch Pokemon. Watching and chatting in other people's streams is a serious commitment, it binds several hours.

You want involvement explicitly from the Lemmings comunity, that needs planning, early announcements, and sticking to the plan. How many Lemmings forumers does Arty pull?

I don't announce Jazz runs in #lix anymore. Akseli, geoo, and Proxima watch the record on youtube, but wouldn't watch every attempt. I rely on twitch followers and sticking to the same time of day. I still get 3-4 viewers on average, but some prefer to lurk, I have a dead chat about 1 in 3 streams. I don't mind!

How many Lemmings forumers does Arty pull?

It really depends on what I stream. Lemmings streams definitely attract the most people, usually around 6 or 7 people, while other streams like my last Undertale one get closer to 3 or 5 people.

I'm having an annoying problem:
I use NCH video pad editor to edit my videos and put them on youtube (I like it for the most part, simple to use, free and FAR better than the free windows video editor) but when I upload on youtube my videos are coming across quieter than they sound in videopad. I don't understand why. Could it be options on youtube I'm not seeing;
or in video pad, but my volume appears to be turned up to 100% and I haven't yet found an option to turn it up further (I don't really want this anyway I can do that with other programs, and it doesn't explain why it's getting quieter on youtube)

What do you guys use to edit?

Haha, I still use Windows Movie Maker for my videos. I really want to get a better one for free, as it sometimes crashes for no reason and has very few editing options. I would love some suggestions too.

thinking of streaming tomorrow night (thursday) around 7:30 (Eastern US time).

I'll probably be playing a lemmings pack (one of the ones released recently) and maybe some pokemon as well or a surprise. I'd really like for some to join in voice chat (with discord as that's what we're currently used to), even if it's just one person I feel more comfortable that way.

probably, again depending on who shows up. Not sure about it however. But this weekend looks pretty good; whether I do or don't tomorrow night; I probably will again possibly Friday Saturday or Sunday. I'll post more details later.

if I do Thursday I'll probably continue with Lemmings Migration; we were having fun with it. Maybe later I'll do more pokemon if people are down with that or something else.

And this time I will MAKE SURE my damn voice actually is recording on twitch :XD::XD::XD::XD:

Maybe after the stream I will play a little lix multi player. If we can get a big group. The stream will probably last an hour or two

I have to reschedule this; Saturday's not going to work. Sunday at 9:30 AM (Oct 8) is the only other time this weekend; not sure if this is really ideal, not sure I'll wake up in time or feel like doing it then but if people can show up I will.

okay; I apologize for posting so much and ended up not streaming at all. This day was a total debacle. I shouldn't have bothered trying to stream after I realized I couldn't in the morning like I originally planned. I hope this hasn't bothered anybody too much. It really ticks me off. >:(

I'm sticking to my plans for tomorrow though. I will try to wake up early and around 9:20 (Eastern Time) I will begin streaming. I'll be free the whole morning so I can stream multiple things or do what people want; depending on who shows up. I'll play the levels of the people who are watching first.

9:20 Eastern US time is lunchtime/afternoon for Europe.

I'll make it if I can I will, but I may be driving home at that time if I go home over the weekend.

I think tomorrow night I will also be available and do a stream then, may still do another one on Friday but if we get a crowd I might play lix instead.

I'm thinking of doing either: continuing my randomized Pokemon run or playing NepsterLix

Oh, Pokeymanz sound interesting to me.

However, if I am to watch the stream, my Internet connection is a limit here: I've had this problem during Nessy's stream recently and he lowered the output video resolution in OBS to what was displayed on Twitch.tv as 616p (I don't know what software you like to use), and it helped - I only had about 0.5 seconds of stream lost in ~10 second intervals. Pokemon isn't a hi-res game so not much should be lost (I personally am used to watching videos in potato quality for the sake of smooth flow of it).
Though, of course I'm just the one viewer here.

It's been a long time since I streamed or made videos. I'm expecting that within a couple of months (not exactly sure when, but not sooner than that) my schedule will finally get away from this craziness. I will be able to stream whenever I want and for how long I want.

So I put up a new poll. You may vote for more than 1 option. If you'd like to see all of these or more than 1; specify which you'd rather see first.

I still will probably try to stream contest levels when that happens, and maybe an occasional levelpack, but that's not my priority since I'm not great at solving Lemmings levels and my interest in that has really waned recently. Except for new and unique games like L2 which is in the poll.

Also I didn't include streaming multiplayer games we play like Lix, UCH or Switch games that I plan to get (like Splatoon or maybe Smash) because usually other people stream those when I play. But if anyone really wants to see that you can mention it.
[after thinking about this I will likely do all of these at some point (except for Breath of the Wild which I'm already playing so it won't be a blind run, but I may also do the sequel that comes out if I get that)

-------
I also would like to get one of the Jackbox games to host and play more of those more often, but which one should I get?

If you're going to get a Jackbox pack, GET 3. It's by far the best (and the one we usually play). It has TKO and Quiplash (my two favorites), as well as Guesspionage (which can be fun) and Trivia Murder Party (which many people love). It also has Fakin' it, but that can't be played unless everyone is physically in the same room.

The Jackbox stuff which was posted in this topic has been moved to another topic now

https://www.lemmingsforums.net/index.php?topic=4500.new;topicseen#new

Anyway, back on topic

I would very much enjoy you to perhaps stream Mario Maker, I enjoy Mario Maker content on YouTube. Also any Lemmings/Lix content is also nice, we all seem to enjoy team solving levels on stream nowadays.

I also voted for Pokémon randomiser, that was fun when you had that save file which has Pokémon named after forum members :P

For clarity: I will likely do all of these at some point but based on the poll I'll do what's voted for first.

So Mario Marker it is! Note that I am not nearly as good at the game as someone like Ryukar or grandpoobear so it will be more like a 'Let's fail'. :P But I still have had a lot of fun with the game so far. I'll likely do either Endless challenge or 'hot courses'. I'll do multiplayer if my lag improves.

I still want to do more Pokemon randomization at some point, but sadly that save file you mention was lost :'( . I may do that over/again though.

I still may get Jackbox at some point mainly because I have another group of friends I want to try it with.

This Saturday (two days from now) I plan to stream Super Mario Maker 2 at or around 17:30 UTC. Let me know on discord if you can make it/plan to watch or have any requests or what have you. I may stream other things as well depending on how SMM2 goes.

For future reference; what time(s) are preferable by everyone? What's the best day/times for me  to stream for you?

(I realize everyone will probably give a different answer but it's nice to know anyways)
