A NEW Style of Lemmings 2:the tribes
« on: August 04, 2009, 11:59:52 PM »
Good idea huh?
A remake of lemmings 2
with every tribe
beach
egypt
outdoor
classic
highland
canival
polar
space
mideval
shadow
sports
plus a bonus tribe(Oh No)
the oh no tribe is a brick style tribe
instead of 10 level per tribe It's 4 ratings and 40 levels per tribe 10 per rating

:disagree: Is this what you were planning to do? None of us have the time to do stuff like this. We would prefer to get the fangame out of the way. Plus, there is nothing to download. You should have put it under Lemmings discussion unless the download is available.

That would be fine with me as long as you wait for the current fangame to be done.  It would help the community A LOT.

Hey, we can do this as soon as GuyPerfect's editor is done!  Can't wait.

The "Oh No" tribe has gotta be the most unoriginal idea I've ever heard.  Surely we are capable of more creativity than that!  (Well, maybe one of us isn't......)

It's still all theoretical since GuyPerfect's editor at this point only lets us make new levels for existing tribes, not creating whole new tribes altogether, but it would be fun to discuss what kind of new tribes there could be if it were possible to make them.  And please, not just copies of graphics sets from Lemmings 1 ONML and Xmas Lemmings, but something truly new.

How about the Waffle Tribe? <- That would probably be hilarious.

Um, we can read fine you know.  ><img src=" title="Angry" class="smiley" />  I just think copycatting a graphics set from Lemmings 1 games doesn't count as a Tribe.  A Tribe is supposed to be more than just the graphics set you know.  The Lemmings from different tribes also look a little different and behave a little different too (eg. attractor music, exit animations, etc.)  There's a lot more to talk about if you don't limit yourself to Lemmings 1 graphics sets.

And as for new Lemmings 2 levels, you can create as many as you like once GuyPerfect releases his Lemmings 2 level editor out to the world.  The titles are a good start no doubt, but aren't you tired of talking about levels that don't exist yet, rather than trying to make some yourself?  You don't even have to wait for the Lemmings 2 editor if you're sticking with Lemmings 1 graphics, you could just make a Lemmings 1 level with LemEdit or Lemmix as a start.  If you need computer help in setting up LemEdit or Lemmix, you can post on the Help forum.

Bother to do what? Demand other people develop your ideas for you?

Well that's it.  I shall go back to ignoring all of Giga's posts from now on since he has proven time and again that he is incapable of contributing anything of substance to the forums.  If that's how he behaves in real life it's no wonder that "in real life too nobody uses or likes my ideas".  I'm afraid it's beyond my abilities to interact constructively with this kind of personality, maybe the rest of you will have better luck.

Do you guys have to pick on Giga so much?  I think he's getting better than he was at first on making readable posts.  Give him a little credit.  And this isn't a bad idea at all.

This has nothing to do with readability of his posts.  If anything, it would've been easier to just outright ignore him if his posts were completely unreadable.

I think it's natural that when you present your ideas to others, you may get criticism about it.  So far we've been pretty constructive when we do give critical feedback on Giga's ideas.  However, invariably he ignores all criticisms, and act like he doesn't even read it at all.  And he seems to expect other people to only stick to his narrow, half-baked so-called "ideas" of things rather the let the thread evolved in additional directions from the feedback of other people.

And you'd think that if he's so excited by his own ideas, he would actually take the slightest bit of effort to try to develop them further, but so far we haven't even seen as much as a crude sketching of a level or other such things he calls his ideas.  How are we expected to get excited by his ideas if he himself hardly acts like he's excited and motiviated by his own ideas?

If JRR Tolkien were to write Lord of the Rings the way Giga behaves, all we would ever get is the title "Lord of the Rings", with no indications whatsoever what it might be about--for all we know it might be about a wrestler, or maybe the rich founder of a telephone company or something.  It wouldn't be that unreasonable to expect Tolkien to at least give us a brief description of Middle Earth would it?

We are not robots that respond to every single post with "omg that is the gr8test thing I've ever heard".  If that's the only kind of response that works with Giga, I'm afraid he's going to need some counceling to get himself through to adulthood as life is only going to get more challenging.

Pretty smart with what you said there, but I wonder, how would there be a way to avoid showing other people's posts? Messages I know they work out fine.

I like this idea. I'd love to play a remake of Lemmings 2.
