Lemmings Main / Lemmings for Mobile Phones
June 07, 2018, 12:14:16 PM
Hi, it's me again!

In the amazing Lemmings The Ports book, I found out that apparently two Lemmings games have been released for mobile phones:

I looked online, and I was actually able to find Lemmings Return! The resolution for the game is over twice as large as the resolution of my phone's screen, and I can't seem to change it anywhere. That is a bit unfortunate, as it makes it rather tedious to navigate the menus - you need to try out every option, as you can't read what you've got selected. However, the game itself works fine! Of course the playing field is extremely narrow on such a low resolution screen, but it works.

This is cool! I'll probably play it when I don't have anything else to do, as I am wondering about the levels. The book says there are 30 levels, divided into three ratings. I can only play levels from the first rating, though, so I guess you need to unlock the rest. I expect all levels to be rather easy, but who knows, there might actually be some puzzles in here. In any case, all levels seem to be original, and designed with the original pieces. They are put together poorly, though, none of the levels look good.

But another thing: I've only been able to find this game, and I can't find any mention of there being another Lemmings game for phones, except in the book. The book's probably right, but if the writer reads this: where did you find this information? I'd like to play this game, if it still exists. :)

Lemmings Main / The Lemmings The Ports Book
January 27, 2018, 03:54:11 PM
Hello, I just found out about this book.
There is a topic about it here, but I didn't want to bump it: https://www.lemmingsforums.net/index.php?topic=1863.0
I can't find it anywhere online; it seems the webstore that sold it is gone completely. Does anyone know if there is any way to get this book? I think I'd really like it!

Hi, it's me again!

Today, after hours of work and a year since I started writing, I have published Operatio Ovis.
It's a story in (perhaps slightly faulty :P) Latin, about a long-lasting fantasy/roleplay some friends and me had in 3rd grade of secondary education.
I really felt like sharing it here, for some reason, and I don't see a reason not to, so here I am! ;)
I have also put a lot of effort into making the Dutch and English translations as good as they can be: so if you don't know Latin or get stuck somewhere (I might've made some passages a little unclear, especially by having to make up words in some spots. :P), you can reference the English version! :)

Here it is!

Fan Corner / Music from DOS Lemmings, on piano :)
May 09, 2017, 03:34:18 PM
Hey!
You might've seen the first one of these before: it's been on YouTube since late August.
Today, I uploaded another cover, though: Rainbow Islands! So unless you're subscribed to me, you probably haven't seen that one yet. ;)

Anyway: I thought I should share these here some time, as there's a designated area for it. :)

Lemmings Main / Has the DOS Lemmings Logo been ripped?
August 29, 2016, 09:55:23 AM
Hey!
The past 30 minutes or so I've been busy getting the DOS Lemmings Logo separate from the background using paint.net. It's a lot of work!
But I just realised there might be a possibility of the graphic already having been acquired.
Would anyone know?

I was looking for something else and didn't find it, but this was a welcome find too!

Non-Lemmings Gaming / Re-Volt
July 12, 2016, 09:14:15 AM
Hi, it's me again!

Today I resumed my YouTube series, 607 plays revolt, and I realised I have never made a topic about Re-Volt on here.
Do any of you know it? Hopefully you do!
I'd really advise to try it if you like racing games like Mario Kart (it's not very similar to Mario Kart, though, so if you don't like Mario Kart you should try it too!).
I once wrote a review of it on another forum here: https://empireminecraft.com/threads/retro-games.54846/page-3#post-1006388 Please read it, I spent quite some time writing it ;)
What do you think? :)

I had a lot of fun creating this, and I'm happy with how it turned out :D

I just wanted to share this with you guys: I finally uploaded my favourite Atari ST soundtrack, and one of my favourite soundtracks period. In good quality

Hi, it's me again!

Do you have specific favourites from the soundtrack of the original Lemmings? I mean, I like the whole soundtrack (although How Much is that Doggie in the Window is one I like quite a bit less than the others, honestly), but there are some I'd have rather than others. I'm not counting the special graphics stages, here.

My two favourites are probably Twang and Pachelbel's Canon. Choosing a third one would be very hard, though... it could be any of these, I think:
Keep Your Hair On, Mr. Lemming, Rainbow Islands, Smile If You Love Lemmings.

Lemmings Main / 607 plays Lemmings 1 and ONML
February 21, 2016, 05:47:01 PM
Descriptive title, right? ;)
Anyway, even though some people told me to make a new topic every time I had something to ask or something, I'm making this topic to share whatever I want to share in one, nice, topic. This will only be used for the original Lemmings and perhaps ONML discussion, though.
Anyway, I just got Lemmings working again, which went very smoothly, found my passwords again, which went very smoothly too, and beat Taxing 25 (Follow the Leader), and even that went very smoothly! I remember being stuck on that one for some time last time I played this game.
I noticed I got 100% of the Lemmings saved, while the requirement is 90%. Are they just being unnecessarily lenient or is there an intended solution I'm missing, that only saves 90%?

Help & Guides / Mouse jittery?
February 21, 2016, 05:33:36 PM
Hello!
I copied over my Lemmings and DOSBox files, to play Lemmings on my new, Windows 10 pc. But now the mouse movement seems to be much less smooth.
Does anyone else recognise this problem?
I can't make very precise movements as easily now, and it just feels less smooth.

Lemmings Main / Looking for a picture of a Lemming
November 12, 2015, 09:23:57 AM
Hello, I was looking for a picture of which I'm not sure it exists, but perhaps you know something close.
It should be a drawing of a Lemming, you know, somewhat like this one (http://geekandsundry.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/lemmings-e1434250880751.jpg), but in a more neutral or happy pose.
I'd like to put it in the corner of a cosmetic bag.
I'm not a fan of the bird-like design of PSVita's Lemmings, I'd like to be able to find some of the older artwork, but I don't know how to search for it. (after all, Googling Lemmings will get me real Lemmings)

Non-Lemmings Gaming / 607's Club Tournament
October 18, 2015, 09:49:51 AM
So... this was started on YouTube and brought to two forums, but I figured I could share it here too, perhaps some people would like to play! :)
I'm holding a tournament for people to compete in the online, free to play game avalanche!. You don't have to have played the game before, just try it! Everyone who gets a minimum of 22ft will get something, and getting 22ft isn't very hard.
I could explain everything here, but I think a video would be more convenient.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqIAMaZ95kU
So here you go!

If you don't know about CP (folk.simpsite.nl/cp), it's not really a problem. Even if you wouldn't know what to do with it (there are quite some cool things, though, you can let me compose something for you, for example) you can still compete for the fun of it.
And it's a nice game!

Also, if it wasn't clear: try to get as many people to join as possible! After all, you'll get 5 CP for every person under you (including yourself), so the more people join, the more CP you can potentially get, right?
I just hope it won't get too crazy and I'll have to be busy for months fulfilling the requests :lix-gasp: If that'd happen, I'd be quite happy too, though, because that'd mean this got popular! :D

Any questions can be asked either here or in the YouTube comments.
Have fun, and good luck!

Hi, it's me again!
I made this topic so I don't need to start a new topic every time I have a question.
This time I'd like to know: when do you think newcomers learn to reverse a Lemming's direction using a builder to build into the ground? At what rating levels? And should it be incorporated into another puzzle, or in a tutorial-style level? I can't recall where the original Lemmings learnt it, as I originally learnt the trick from ONML.

Edit Simon: Thread title.

Level Design / Do you mind floating terrain?
June 17, 2015, 05:33:37 PM
Hi, it's me again!

Would you try to prevent things like that, or would you not care?
I myself don't really care, games often have floating stuff. But the original Lemmings seems to be quite realistic on that regard, actually. So that made me wonder: do you also not mind placing terrain in mid-air, or would you rather create some support beams or something under it?

Level Design / Looking for custom music to use.
June 12, 2015, 07:32:47 PM
Hi, it's me again!

I was wondering what custom music other people used. In my pack I use Amiga music, from all Lemmings games, a couple other games and a few themes taken from the internet composed by fans. But I feel not all really fit Lemmings, so I might want to replace some. So I'd like to hear if anyone of you used custom music that fits in a bit with Amiga Lemmings.

Lemmings Main / Lemmings Paintball
April 25, 2015, 11:34:42 AM
Hi, it's me again!
I own Lemmings Paintball and got started with it a couple of times, but I never really understood it.
Anyone here who thoroughly played it? Did you like it?

Lemmings Main / DOS or NeoLemmix?
April 24, 2015, 03:01:14 PM
Hi, it's me again!
Nowadays, levels often go like this:
I figure out the solution in 5 minutes.
I spend 25 more minutes to execute it without having to start over due to one little mistake or bad luck.

I'm starting to think it'd be better to continue playing in NeoLemmix, so I can rewind and do things frame per frame. That also seems a little odd, though... because well, all those fails and things are still part of the game, and I feel like they should happen, because it's also about precision and agility instead of only the puzzle.

What do you think?
