Oh I did not notice I Am A.T. had a talisman in Redux.
Now that I saw the actual level again, I am not that confident : forgot the pit near the end of the wall, and you just dont have enough digger to dig-cancel through the whole wall pixel by pixel...
Execution must be hard for sure.

Thank you for dig cancel dig explanations kaywhyn and Proxima. Now for sure I'll clear We All Fall Down's faster.
Certainly this might make it possible to save 100% on I Am A.T., this level caused me the most nightmares back in the Genesis days.

edit by kaywhyn: I've went ahead and split this post and all the other ones after it from the Lemmings Plus Series topic and merged them with the Lemmings Redux topic in order to do some tidying up, since they kind of weren't discussing Lemmings Plus anyway

Making very slow progress in this pack, and am proud of it !

Once again an almost alternate solution for Hard But Still Fun 13 : Spiral Staircase

Looks quite like the intended solution posted by Kieran, except that I had to struggled a lot to obtain this group of 3-not-too-far-away lemmings to build the second part of the bridge.

Actually I like my solution better than the intended, much more stressfull with those, litterally, pixel and frame precise placements. Also, look at this builder getting turned 4 times in a row by two blockers. Now this is a Spiral Staircase  8-)

I was playing Quest From Kieran and got kind of overburned by the difficulty there.

Then kaywhyn gave this nice list of packs sorted by difficulty in the QFK thread, and I felt like taking a break with packs considered easier may be a good thing. And what a break that was ! I cleared all of Lemmings Plus I, including the talismans.

Even though this has been done a lot of times already I'm attaching my replays. Most of the time if a level appears twice it is because the second replay is the talisman. Sorry but some level do appear twice for no reason.

Giving some quick thoughts on particular levels :

* Danger 17 : Perfectionnism I think I backrouted here, using a pixel precise use of diggers at the beginning to save the two lemmings coming from leftmost entrance. Intended solution is way more natural.

* Psycho 16 : Crosswork Honestly not very fun. I had to turn RR to 99 to get enough lemmings in the mess and built kind of random until it worked. Not very satisfied with the solution, and I cannot see another one.

* No Salvation series Fun fact : my 10yo kid played this level the first time it appeared. He found what I thought was a weird solution, but it turned out his solution worked up to the 4th iteration of No Salvation ! Many thanks to him.

* Psycho 29 : No Salvation V I had to change from the kid solution obviously and got something involving a mid-air bomber to clear the step too high in the staircase. Not sure this is intended seeing how I have 20 seconds left on the 60 seconds timer at the end ?

* Medi 25 : Wall of Wisdom, talisman Save 64 lemmings to get it. I was over confident here, did not realize until the results screen that one needs 17 diggers to eat the whole wall, and that 80-17=63 < 64. Arf. Took me a long more time to figure out how to save one digger, and finally understood that the "digger cancels digger" trick only work if second digger is close to the first digger by one pixel at most. Anyone can confirm this ?
I'm also wondering what happens if second digger is at a correct position to cancel first, but happens to start digging on an exact frame where first digger steps down one pixel. Cancel or no cancel ? I could not produce this situation yet to test.


* Psycho 28 : To the End, talisman Requires to clear using only Dig and Bash. Thnigs went kind of smoothly with Dig cancels Dig as above, until the arrow wall. Could not get through it until I randomly left the first digger dig further down, and feel like I had tremendous luck to have second lemming step on the arrow wall at the correct timing to be able to initiate the Dig-Bash thingie high enough to clear the width of the wall.

Many thanks for the list kaywhyn, definitely a great help to swin in the ocean of levels packs. I must say I'm a bit overwhelmed by NL stuff that I just discovered about a month ago, so much to do with users-created content ! So this list is a nice guide.

Also Mobiethian do not worry about making not-hard-as-hell levels, we love them too !
Actually I downloaded all the packs categorized "easy, my 10yo kids can play it", often need to relax and save Lemmings without torturing my head for a millenia.

Now that I looked at your solution too, I find it way more natural than mine. No pixel-precise bomber here, all goes smoothly for you.
The part you do have and that I've missed, is the lemming landing safely on the grey crate at the top of the barrels. He is the one to save the bottom batch, and to join the bridges like you did, great job.
Saving the bottom batch was the big road block to me, and using 2 bombers to get through the barrels is the only way I found.

Sorry double post, but this one is definitely a feat to me !

Quest From Kieran, Hard But Still Fun rank 12 : Boxed In.

More than 5 hours of searching solution here, making bombers everywhere, reading the clues given by kaywhyn and Swerdis who cleared the level too, not looking at videos, and dreaming about it at night.

My attached solution works too, but requires so many precise bomber placement that I think this was not the intended one either. I also end with an extra lemming, and just let one of them die in the middle of the process because he has nothing else to do...

Hardest bomber placement was actually the first bomber, who needs to climb precisely 2 steps from the builder before him then fall, or else his explosion is either too high or too low for the bridge to the exit on the right. 95 RR did the trick here.

I then used a basher under the trap at the bottom left. Also cleared the barrels obstacles with 2 bombers, the first one of which falls from the upper bridge, which definitely looks intended.

Curious to know what you people think was intended and what was not here ?

I'm currently, slowly, grinding up this level pack. Now at Hard But Still Fun 10.

Some levels I can figure by myself, and am quite happy. Others I just cant.
For instance Star Trek was a real road block and I had to watch 56 minutes of kaywhyn trying to get them Lemmings up there to get burned at the correct timing ; this kind of relieved to me to think that if kaywhyn struggles, then I am allowed to get stuck.

All in all I'm having a great time with the pack, good job for the custom musics, clever level design with 8 skills only. I must say I have to relax on some easier packs from time to time though, Quest From Kieran is devil  :evil:

Thank you for your input Armani. Now your name is definitely associated with tough levels for me.

I could for sure use some recommendations for packs with different levels of difficulty :

* easy and fun : playable for my 10ish years old kids
* moderate difficulty : need to think, but can figure out the solution in a matter of minutes.
* harder : where I begin to struggle, like this Holiday Lemmings 2024.
* too hard for me yet : where I wont find the solution without hints, frustrating.

Considering I'm quite new to NeoLemmix, this was a really good, and hard, trip there to my first pack of custom levels (not counting Lemmings Redux).

Those tough levels from Armani, I sometimes had to resort to the "How to solve it" videos : play the level for about one hour, get stuck, watch the video until a point it shows something I did not try yet, then usually I can figure the rest.

Hardest levels in that regards imo :
All I want for Christmas is
The Bear Necessities
Sky Shield
Watch Your Step
Warm Cosy Basement
WHere Angels Dwell


Curious to know if more veterans players than me tried this pack and what their toughts are on the general difficulty of those levels. Just to give me an idea of what to expect from a next custom levels pack.

I'd say if you want to sort the level by difficulty, just put all Mobiethian's level in one rank, and the Armani ones in the others !

Very slowly progressing through daytime.

Level 6 Skating On Thin Ice is another masterpiece by Armani. Glad I could clear it, this half turn with dig and platform is hellish.

I have an alternate route than the one shown on your "How to solve it" videos. Using that little gap at the top of the left one-way pillar seemed mandatory to me :

Thanks for the advice. I was kind of sure about it : need to get both lemmings batch out of thier cages after all. So I guess this is a problem of using them at the correct time and place, and maybe setting RR when needed.
I'll give it more tries...

[EDIT] ok got it. This is indeed dig and bash, correct time and correct place. One loss possible.

Oh come on, now bring Armani here ! Someone needs to fix his twisted brain.

Daytime lvl 1 took me ages to figure : survival of the fittest, or rather, suicidal or the least fit.

Then daytime lvl 2 starts and it takes me more than 5 minutes to actually understand what I have to do. Possibilities are endless here, and that righmost neutral is facing the wrong direction ?!? Twisted, twisted, twisted. Need a one week break from the game to even think about this level again.

(talking loud for sure, but I actually like doing this to me ; tough will have to aknowledge that I'm not at that solving level yet)

Ok got it. Did a little cheating since I watched your video, up to the point where it became different from all my previous attempts.
Turns out this "block and release the crowd with 2 diggers" occured to me, but I did not know how to do it since the digger needed to release also has to climb, and that climber I had always him stuck at the end part. That is some serious time and crowd management here, congrats to Armani for the design and kaywhyn for solving it.

Ok so, now on to Daytime...
