To start:

A lemming is given a skill.  Soon after, he knows that he will soon die.  Why is this?

HINT:  Skill stock/selection matters.

Lol, one scenario could be a Lemming who has just been made a climber, but can see in sight a large drop and not a brolly to be seen for miles.

This is one that happened to me in real life. I'm a college student and live in an apartment. One day, I lacked a certain item for a particular task. I still managed to get the job done using a hammer, a screwdriver, a pipe wrench and a towel. What did I want to do?

Okay, maybe this thread won't work as an anarchy.  I must question the possibility of this riddle being solvable.  Please read the newly added rules.

I have played this one with a friend over Instant Messaging. He solved it after around 20 yes/no-questions without hints. He had a bit of experience with lateral puzzles, though.

Major hint: I was hungry. Damn hungry!
