Lemmings Forums UK Meetup Winter 2026 - Bristol (November time)

It's only been a few weeks since the previous meet up but I thought it is probably time to put a topic up so we can plan the next one.

It was discussed that we would most likely be venturing south of the UK this time and we'll not be meeting up in Leeds this time.
Bristol has been suggested as a good meeting up spot by Will and hrb264.

Anyone who is able to get to the meet up is welcome even if you've never been to one before. The more the merrier.

If we decide on Bristol....

Since it might be far for some of us to travel to Bristol (140 miles from me in Mansfield), this could be considered to be a 2 day meetup for some. I'm certainly going to be staying overnight myself if this goes ahead. We should liaise about what hotel we will be staying at if a significant number of us need hotels. (like when me, Simon and Will went to Dundee, we booked into the same hotel so we had fun in the evenings on that trip, it just makes the meet up more enjoyable between days!).

Like with the previous meet up, I'm willing to offer to pick forumers up who are en route between Nottingham and Bristol, likewise if you can make it from up north to Nottingham for a reasonable time, I can pick you up from the railway station before we head south (like I helped hrb264 at the previous Leeds meet up).
The only thing is I will be staying overnight most likely so you'll most likely have to stay overnight if you want a lift back.

When?

I'm putting this topic up early so we can start planning it but I'm probably thinking of Oct/early Nov time for this. It also gives people plenty of notice to sort out accomodation/train travel and get them cheaper.

I'd like it to be over a weekend Sat/Sun, I'd be willing to go for a 3rd day also and include Monday or the Friday before if there's interest in that. That would require me to get time off work now as I'm on a Mon-Fri schedule now.
Pretty much any weekend would be good for me, I'm guaranteed to not be working.

So let me know what weekends are best for you. If weekends are not great, let me know also and we'll try and accommodate everyone best we can.

Even if you don't know about your availability, just let me know if you're interested in coming!

I'm definitely up for Bristol, and would also be happy to travel to anywhere on the coast. Seaside in Winter can be very beautiful.

Ok then, ample interest so far 

Some have suggested November so let's aim for that to accommodate, work wise for me I can do any weekend but would prefer the weekend of 14/15 Nov because I'm on early shifts the week leading up to it and then on late shifts the following week so it would have the maximum time between the 2 weeks of shifts (finish early Fri and start late Mon). It doesn't mean the other weekends are off limits though, that's just the weekend I prefer out of the Nov weekends.

To bring the topic up to speed, there has been some organising in DMs on Discord. I'll most likely be giving Kingshadow a lift from Rotherham to Bristol and back and we'll book into the same hotel. We can let you know what hotel we're booking into when we book if you're interested in joining us in the evening(s) to have rooms in the same hotel for activities. Kingshadow is possibly bringing a board game and I'm bringing my Nintendo Switch 2.
Also I have offered to pick up hrb264 on the way to the meetup if she needs me to, she has advised me that she'll most likely stay with her sister who lives in Bristol.

One thing that hasn't been commented on is, are we doing a 2 day (Sat/Sun) or 3 day meet up (Sat/Sun/Mon)? I don't mind which personally and I wouldn't mind opting for the 3 day if there's interest.

Where on the coast were you thinking of? Perhaps if this was a 3 day meet up, we could possibly realistically do this.

I've suggested above weekend of 14/15 Nov since no one expressed any preference except November, but I'm open to the other weekends in Nov also.

Your girlfriend and your sister's family are more than welcome if they want to join us, whatever works for you 

Not sure if this helps in any way but if we all booked into a hotel nearby your sister's place in Bristol, would that help your plans in any way?
