So I decided to make a Classic version of SEB Lems for RetroLemmini. It took over a week to convert all the levels in my other level packs which were compatible solution wise with RetroLemmini. Out of 373 of my NeoLemmix levels, only 42 made the cut, the main reason being that the majority of my levels don't stick to the classic 8 skills making a conversion to RetroLemmini not possible.

36 levels came from SEB Lems itself, 4 from Lemmings presents Gotta Go Fast, 1 from Modular Lems and 1 from MegSEGAbytes.

I have reordered the levels collectively by difficulty across 4 difficulty ranks: Paradise, Bittersweet, Stormy and Murder.
Each rank has 10 levels except for Murder which has 12 levels.

Paradise Level 10 "Hurry Up and Wait" (returning level from Lemmings presents: Gotta Go Fast - originally a Marble Zone tileset level)

Bittersweet Level 6 "Until The Stars Collide" (returning SEB Lems level)

Stormy Level 1 "It's An Automatic Lock-In" (returning Modular Lems level - originally a Raymanni Toy tileset level)

Murder Level 3 "Going Deeper Underground" (returning MegSEGAbytes level - originally Medieval tileset) - one of many Flopsy/Wafflem collaborations in the pack!

Murder Level 10 "Everything Falls into Place" (a classic returning SEB Lems level)

Download the music pack for SEB Lems Classic here. It contains 22 tracks and is 93MB.
SEB Lems Classic for RetroLemmini Music pack.
For the music pack download above, place the folder marked "seb-lems" inside your resources/music folder, the pack is programmed to use the tracks inside this folder.

Download the pack at the bottom of this post, the download also includes the solve replays. Extract the download to your RetroLemmini folder.

Nice! :) Does it have any special styles?

Looking forward to playing it :)

Flopsy

No styles to download, I remade levels which were not in the classics tilesets in the styles which are included in the RetroLemmini download, hence why it is "Classic"

WillLem

Solved the Paradise levels. These are excellent! :lemcat:

Flopsy

Thanks for your replays Will and I'm glad you think the converted levels are of excellent quality so far!

Spoiler
1. Back to Paradise - Nice 100% solution and trying to avoid bashers at the end for some reason.
2. 13 Little Stars - Again determined for the 100%, glad it's possible without too much trouble!
3. Welcome to the Highlands? - Not seen someone dig through the entry platform onto a splatform below before. It's always amazing how new methods come through in these early rank levels. Also 100% again :)
4. Cake Shop Visits - Usually other players come entirely from the right, you came from the left and then turned back to the left. Really thought you were going to go for the right hand exit which no one ever goes to. 100% also
I then noticed your 2nd replay which goes to the right hand exit, nice to see someone do this at last and save 100%!
5. In the Dead of Night - everyone seems to get the same solution for this one. Not much to say really
6. T-Shirt Level - that was smart mining into the metal support before the fire pit and one way wall, made a turnaround crowd less problematic! 100% again!
7. Lemmtris 3D - First level which wasn't 100% but I'm not sure if 100% is even possible so 79/80 is still great!
8. Party in my Head - 100% is definitely impossible on this one, interestingly Simon played this level on Lix yesterday and managed to not use the Blocker, made a double bridge surrounding the water pit on the right instead.
9. It's the Name of the Game - Wow first time I've ever seen 100% on this level, it's nice to know that it can be done. The save requirement is so low that you can just lose lemmings to the first pit usually.
10. Hurry Up and Wait - I can see why you provided 2 replays now after seeing the first attempt. The exit...

WillLem

Solved the Bittersweet levels. Another high quality batch, and these are getting tough now! :o

Flopsy

Thanks for solving the 2nd rank. Glad to see you enjoyed these also

Spoiler
Sweet Memories - This was the exact solution found by Simon in SEBLix on the same level. I've never seen the blocker used like that and you and Simon submit this solution less than a week apart.
Vertigo - Pretty standard solution, never see any variation here. This was originally a Highland tileset level in SEB Lems
One in a Billion - standard solution, only difference is you waited to save the right hand crowd before route building
The Acrobrats - this level is pretty open ended so any solve is acceptable here, 100% as well!
Tricks of the Trade - like the mininalist skill used approach here
Until The Stars Collide - like the use of the star to actually turn the Lemmings! Taking the level name seriously here. Nice 96% save too.
Don't Play With Fire - intended solution :)
The Legend of Ray Beeston - intended solution :)
Today The Sun's On Us - intended solution :)
The Big Bang - intended solution :)

Hello Flopsy,

I have played and solved all of your SEB Lems Classic pack for RetroLemmini! My replays are attached and of course I'll drop off some feedback :)

General Feedback

SEB Lems Classic is a RetroLemmini conversion pack by Flopsy which takes select levels from his released packs SEB Lems, Gotta Go Fast!, Modular Lems, and MegSEGAbytes and gives them the "classic" treatment by remaking the levels in tilesets found in RetroLemmini and which can be adapted to work with only the classic 8 skills due to RetroLemmini being part of the Lemmini engine family which supported just the classic 8 skills. Of the more than 300 levels by Flopsy, only 42 made the cut for SEB Lems Classic. These 42 levels of this pack are split among 4 ranks of 10 levels each, with the exception of the final rank of Murder which has 12 levels instead. In order, the ranks are Paradise, Bittersweet, Stormy, and Murder. These ranks are also found in Flopsy's NL SEB Lems pack in the same order, though it also has a rank called Revolution which comes between Bittersweet and Stormy.

As I've recently played through GGF, I was able to instantly recognize these remade levels. I can't say the same for all of the SEB Lems levels, though in fairness it's been 5, almost 6, years since I played that pack :P

As I've reassured to Flopsy, I am a fan of custom graphic sets in Lemmings, but I am just as equally a fan of the official Lemmings graphic sets (L1, ONML, L2, and L3). I must say, Flopsy did a wonderful job remaking these select levels in the original classic graphic sets! I also like to revisit old roots from time to time by playing Lemmings and custom Lemmings content on the original engines (Dos, Lemmini, SuperLemmini, etc), so I immensely enjoyed SEB Lems Classic and its return to official Lemmings graphic sets and classic 8 skills! It was pretty fun to see how these select levels from Flopsy's level packs play out when restricted to just the classic 8 skills ;) Finally, the music pack used for SEB Lems Classic is also quite ace IMO :) Well done to Flopsy on all of these areas, and I can highly recommend players give this RetroLemmini pack conversion a go, especially if you fancy playing Lemmings content the traditional way with just the classic 8 skills, especially the native high resolution graphics RetroLemmini uses, though all engines in the Lemmini family come with them

Paradise Rank Feedback

With the exception of the Lemmings 3D remakes, which I remember being my favorite levels in SEB Lems for NL (I also liked them very much here in SEB Lems Classic ), I vaguely recall all the other remade SEB Lems levels in the rank. As mentioned, it's been a while since I last played SEB Lems, but I think the biggest point here is that even after looking at the corresponding level with the same title in the NL SEB Lems pack, a lot of the SEB Lems Classic levels don't come close to resembling the NL level design. That's just mostly due to a lot of terrain pieces in the classic tilesets not having matching and corresponding pieces to the NL graphic set that was used to make a lot of the SEB Lems levels. I also am not very good at remembering level titles :forehead: In my defense, I have played way too many Lemmings custom level packs in the last several years that it's pretty much impossible for me to remember where every level comes from. Not to mention my memory isn't as good or as sharp as it used to be :'(

Even though these are all easy levels for the most part, I still enjoyed the Paradise rank very much. I especially loved going for 100% saves as much as was possible, just as a way to challenge myself. Two replays for Paradise 9, first of which seems to be the more "intended" way, while the second replay is my 100% ;)

Probably Paradise 8 - Party in my Head is the only level of the rank that feels a bit out of place difficulty-wise, as it does seem somewhat difficult for its position and is probably better for the second rank. However, it is currently close to the end of the Paradise rank so it's probably fine.

Paradise 10 I remember liking a lot in GGF, though maybe the

Spoiler
Hidden terrain surrounding the Marble exit is a bit much and unnecessary, though I don't see players ever running into the problem of being a a skill short to access it, so it's probably fine. I kind of see this as "going all out" as much as possible on the level given that it's the Paradise rank finisher :P Plus you're not the only one who's done this. GigaLem was infamous for this in his really old level packs when it came to the L1 Marble exit. Hence my remark to you of pulling a GigaLem

Bittersweet Rank Feedback

I think I did worse here in recalling the levels, as I didn't really remember much of these :forehead: Bittersweet 2 - Vertigo feels pretty difficult for its position TBH. It feels more like a late Bittersweet level rather than being so early as it currently is. Still, a great level.

Spoiler
I only realized just now that the bomber and miner are interchangeable in the solution. Also, the building later on is probably a bit too tight and precise, though I suppose this is somewhat of a minor nitpick on my end :P

Similarly, Bittersweet 6 - Until The Stars Collide IMO feels difficult for its position, though it's definitely better placed than Bittersweet 2 as it starts off the second half of the rank here. I think I even remember struggling with this level in SEB Lems. Bittersweet 9 - Today's The Sun's On Us itself is pretty easy for its position IMO so could probably swap with Bittersweet 6. At the same time, with maybe the exception of Bittersweet 8 - The Legend of Ray Beeston and Bittersweet 10 - The Big Bang, both of which are probably just as difficult as Bittersweet 6, if not a tiny bit harder, the remaining two levels after Bittersweet 6 are easier than it.

Other than what I've mentioned above, Bittersweet is a great rank, so well done with it ;)

Stormy Rank Feedback

I had much success with remembering a lot of these levels, though it kind of helps that a lot of them come from GGF, which as I've mentioned I recently played :P I think the only thing I wonder about here is why Stormy 9 - Leaving Behind All We Know... is a 10-of-everything vs an 8-of-everything which it is in GGF. No worries though, I'm just curious here as to why 2 extras of each skill ;) On the flipside, this does at least make 100% possible, unlike in GGF

Stormy 1 - It's An Automatic Lock In! You mentioned it's from Modular Lems, and I didn't remember that until I checked. Just like SEB Lems, it's also been a while since I last played Modular Lems. In fairness, this one doesn't look anything like the Modular Lems level, but again, Flopsy did the best he could in recreating it in a classic graphic set.

Stormy 2 - This Is What You're Getting! I thought I had recognized this from somewhere but apparently I can't find it anywhere else? Anyway, this was a big favorite of mine in the rank! I especially like the release of the crowds here!

Stormy 4 - Marble Garden Lemmings I think I remember this one and here I was a dummy and overlooked one thing at the end

Spoiler
Blocker to turn the digger to build at the bottom to catch the others after bombing away the thin floor.

Stormy 5 - The Story of the Missing Present I thought I had remembered this one from somewhere but like Stormy 2 I can't seem to find this level anywhere else. Really nice puzzle here, though

Spoiler
the bombers are pretty precise here, especially with clearing the snowman arm for the climbers, though I believe you should see timed bombers in my replays, so admittedly that makes it far harder! :P

Stormy 6 - Synchronised Nice challenging puzzle and probably a bit hard for its position, but maybe not. Then again,

Spoiler
I thought that the blocker turning the builder wouldn't work here as I thought the Lemmings wouldn't be able to follow the builder up the staircase. It's only because I remember this being super difficult to pull off in SuperLemmini and/or I think I even remember doing it in a certain direction isn't possible while in the other it is. I think this has been fixed for RetroLemmini so that the blocker/builder should be equally possible in both directions now, though it's still pretty precise, as the success of following up the staircase seems to be very dependent on whether the builder brick shifts over significantly the other way, and to achieve this one must block at a very specific time to turn the builder at a certain point in its animation

Stormy 7 - A Classy Rock Heelflip Ah yes, I remember this one and is one of my favorites!

Stormy 10 - Running Circles Around The Moon I also remember this level of yours and Wafflem. I think I remember struggling a bit with it from where it originally comes from, though I think it was just the timing I had a hard time with. Nice level to finish off the rank!

Murder Rank Feedback

I pretty much remember all of these levels   Murder 2 - Can You Hear Me? is probably too difficult for its position, though looking at all the other levels after it in the rank, they're just as hard or harder, so as such this level's probably fine where it is ;)

Murder 1 - The Five Arches Think I remember struggling with this one in SEB Lems, and IIRC I believe this was one of several from SEB Lems that made it to the finals of LOTY. This level might had even won the contest too.

Murder 3 - Going Deeper Underground Another one that is difficult for its position IMO but again should be fine as placed looking at the rest of the levels after it in the rank. This was pretty fun to figure out again, especially with how to overcome the builder supply shortage! Here, I encountered a pecularity in that the Lemmings don't climb up the wooden plank. What seems to be happening here is that it detects the solid side much sooner than they're supposed to, because I remember not being able to assign a digger. Perhaps I should report this to WillLem?

Murder 4 - Birth of an Empire Ah yes, I was wondering if this was originally a L2 Cavelem level, and indeed it is. Another great level, this time by you and Nessy (I think you told me that Nessy helped fine-tune the solution?), which was fun to piece together the solution bit by bit and it all coming together quite nicely! The release of the left entrance is especially great :) Probably a bit too precise, though maybe I made that part a bit harder than it needed to be?

Murder 6 - We Build Castles Made of... Ah yes, this was originally in Gronkling's Castle Slime set (I'm sure that's not the name of the style, I can't remember what it is exactly) and is much harder there due to the trap triggering much faster. Here it's a lot easier. I enjoyed this one too

Murder 7 - Pipe Dream I think I remember this one taking me a while to figure out in SEB Lems, especially with how to release the crowd, though here I kind of couldn't remember how to solve this. Even then, I remember the hardest part was timing the climbers correctly for the end part. This is another excellent level and nicely done in the Bubble set, my favorite ONML graphic set!

Murder 8 - Can't Have It All...Or Can You? I think I remember this one being difficult in SEB Lems but again a great solution, especially with releasing the left crowd.

Murder 11 - Leave The Others Alone Ah yes, I remember fiddling around a lot with the RR in SEB Lems on this level. My solution here seems much cleaner in contrast!

Murder 12 - Hush Little Voices Oh yes, I remember struggling a lot with this one in SEB Lems, but that's likely due to how I really overcomplicated the solution in NL. Here, I surprisingly didn't have as much trouble with the SEB Lems Classic version of the level and hence it's not as difficult as I thought it was from all those years ago. Probably helps that I did the level slightly more properly this time!

Again great job Flopsy for this RetroLemmini conversion pack! I really enjoyed this very much and with returning to playing on RetroLemmini after a while since the last time I played on this engine
