SMS and Genesis Levels
« on: March 17, 2005, 05:33:03 PM »
Following on from Conway... I know, it was just to clarify that it was not going to be classed as spam.

I'm working on one of the levels now, Watch this space.

Cool, but it's kind of annoying having to play each level individually. Are you going to put them in a set when they're done?

Cool. Some of the duplicate levels seem completely pointless! (Not your fault, I know.) I don't understand how Sega One and Sega Five are harder the second time around... They all seem easy, but Menacing does not have tools so it's unplayable, and I have a feeling Sega Two (Two) is impossible in its current state as well. Some of the terrain seems to have gotten messed up since the black areas act as transparent and become space in Cheapo, making some bashing, etc. impossible, and requiring more builders than are available.

Also, please add music to the levels!

Well, that was surprisingly easy! I passed them all except Menacing, since it has no skills, and it definitely isn't one of those 'nuke'em' levels! I passed the second Sega Two, but in quite a different way than I did the first. I think Sega Two II is probablymy favourite of the lot, and the hardest.

Cool set, Adam, but very easy. I look forward to making some levels with your new styles, with your permission, of course!

Be patient! It hasn't been up long.

 Anyway, here are my thoughts.

Having the same five levels repeated three times in a levelpack in the same order can get a little boring, especialy with only two other levels in between.

The only level I couldn't pass was the second Sega Four. Is there supposed to be a bomber? I was only able to pass Sega Four Harder through a small trick because there was more time.

Also, the Sega Five levels didn't seem to get harder at all, maybe because I was just getting both lots into the middle exit the same way each time. Maybe Sega Five Harder could be restricted to 1 minute, 20 to be saved and 3 of each skill? Just a suggestion . . .

Anyway, it was fun, and my favourite level is probably Sega One Harder.

Thanks Conway, I am going to do my own SEGA levels for the pack. The new pack will probably going to be out today!

Neither can I.

I've had an advance look at some of Adam's Genesis recreations this morning and I'm liking them very much. He showed me two Tricky levels and "Acrophobia" (I think that one's from " Present"?) -- I found all three very easy but I know there are some much harder ones coming.

Just to let you all know that I'll restart doing these levels if there's any interest. Please tell me if you'd like me to restart it.

Maybe slightly less interest now that I've been able to play these levels on the emulator...... but if you want to go ahead with this, you're welcome to take the levels I've done from my backroute remakes set.

I'm interested. Cheapo has a lot more features than the Megadrive. If you want I could help you create some of the levels (I did for Ahribar). Just tell me what you want and I'll do my best!
I did a remake of "Lemmings Ark" btw. Do you want me to send you the *.lvl file.
