So during todays Lix session, we all decided to log off the network and make frog maps lol.
Heres the final edit for mine.

We All Stand Together (3p / 4p)

Of course, everytime you see this map, you can think of the frog song now.

MoArrrrribbit frogs
New start location
Exits are 2 levels down
Slight modification to skills.

Both Left and Right routes should feel very plausible strategies

What's behind the curtain?

It's very hard to guess, so some curtains have been lifted to reveal the secret.

You have two hatches next to each other. One gets frogged until you secure it. Interaction is quite high with this extra hatch, because it's an interesting target.

Hmm, that is one MP map I might actually consider playing. :-\ :P 8) [Coming from someone who absolutely sucked at MP and too lazy to prep for an optimized hotkey-setup for MP amongst many other things]

[edit: then again, didn't we already have something exactly like this?  Ghetto Wars anyone?  Or was that more complex than this?]

Ghetto wars was much more complicated. Here's the screenshot. Lots of lixes flying through the air and exploding, plus the whole deal with the one lix you have to send climbing to rescue the rest. It's fun and, compared to most other levels, a fairly simple (but smart) concept.

This is more like geoo's "Let's Play Poker!" level, or "Shrug, I don't know about this...," except even simpler :) It's kind of a dumb mind game of trying to get the other player to waste their batters.

It might be enhanced with some shruggers, actually...

*By the way, I've never optimized my hotkeys either :) Of course, I consider myself pretty bad at MP, too.

Oh yes, thanks, I remember now after seeing the screenshot.  Yeah, didn't do very well on that one either that one time I tried MP, IIRC. :XD:

There are other simple batter maps like this one:

Last Man Standing - More lix per team but you have to kill off all the opponent's lix, typically resolves to 1v1 or close to that
FIGHT! - as above, but one lix per team and up to 8 teams on the one platform

There were screenshots of them somewhere that I can't find now ??? but both maps basically consist of one flat platform.

And then there's Superbowl
Just batting lixes into your own area above.

Still think its funny that Superbowl is for american football, not baseball ROFL
Poor geoo, let's all laugh together

Those maps still had fairly complicated interactions between the lixes. In this one, the release rate is so low that, in the time it takes for the next wave of lixes to come out, the previous wave's fate is already decided. Essentially, victory goes to whoever hits the "bat" button first. There are no other options except to nuke.

My new map
Its an Asymmetric!

Map Name: Showbiz (4p Asymmetric)

Information:

This map is definitely something where you can't just get a flowing group of Lix going from start to finish any time soon.
You will more than likely be working 1 at a time.  (until late game, possibly flowable)
O/T Set quite high

Players 1 and 2 are opposite eachother, and basically share the same type of route path.
Players 3 and 4 are coming from below or above.

No Floaters are given, or the top player would have it easy.

Basic Screenshot

 Route Information
The X's show routes that will not work right away 'UNLESS' someone has built something that you can drop down to on that route.
(So thinking about your route will be pretty important if you want to be successful, depending on skill of the player in each location)

As the game progresses, it will surely be quicker to get Lix home with the amount of structures built.
However, seeing as there are NO floaters, if you make bad judgements on where you build, you can simply cut the bridge forcing someone to re-route as they can't just simply fix what you did.
(Infinite jumpers will help you in places where you probably shouldnt be building)

Example: if you are Player 1 , dont build across the entire right-side allowing green to drop onto your bridge from their start location.  You can jump the remaining gap onto the ledge to the right.
(Player3 can only go so-far before hitting their head on the red laser beam)

Hope we can test this out soon.

Other Versions:
Left+Right 2player version so that's almost just balanced play except for a few differences on each side of the map.
Top+Bottom 2player version which may be very interesting, as everything will surely rely on each others efforts.
3 Player version which has 1 player in the middle instead of 2, which should work out quite well also.

A new 3p map

Map: Living the Vertigo Life
Style: Classic

A lot of easy re-routing possibilities to mess with your head.
