If I'm able to get my passport sorted out, I'd love to make holiday arrangements to spend a week in Germany. Flopsy and I have had a little talk about it in PM.

Quote from: WillLem on July 31, 2026, 05:19:49 PMYeah it looks like it's worth dropping the 14th and just doing Leeds on the 13th.

I'm a +1 so there should be at least 6 of us in Leeds.

If we're dropping the Liverpool visit. I'll cancel my hotel booking and the train tickets for the 14th.

It's a shame but I hope we can give Liverpool a chance in the future.

Looking at the poll results so far. It seems to be a split decision on where people want to go.

One option that might be open is to do both places (This was a possible idea that didn't come to fruition during the last meetup). One day in Leeds, the other in Liverpool. I do have an idea on how I can make this work for myself. If we went to Leeds first, I would book a Hotel in Manchester and buy single train tickets for getting to each location. (Leeds from Sheffield (Morning Day 1), Manchester Piccadilly from Leeds (Evening Day 1), Liverpool Lime Street from Manchester Piccadilly (Morning Day 2), then finally Meadowhall from Liverpool (Evening Day 2)).

This is one idea but I don't know whether this would be too much for some people (Either by being too expensive due to parking and travel cost or being too tiring). It also allows people who can only do one of those days or can only get to one of the locations to meet up at the designated location.

Does this sound like a good idea or is there too much of a problem to do that?

Quote from: Flopsy on July 12, 2026, 11:03:49 PMI'm open to both suggestions as well, as always I drive to the meet ups anyway and the biggest obstacle for me is finding somewhere to park. Parking is expensive in Leeds and I expect it would be expensive in Liverpool as well but if I were to book into a hotel if we met up in Liverpool, the parking has a chance to be included in the price so it would be a nice saving.

Unfortunately most hotels near the city centre don't seem to have free parking included with the stay. Only the ones further away seem to have it. I am willing to compromise for your sake. From my research into the matter, the "Premier Inn Liverpool (Tarbock)" hotel is only a 30 minute drive from the city centre (Or an approximate 1 hour bus trip), has free parking, the price for a night doesn't seem too bad (right now) and it's near an ALDI. That seems to remove a chunk off your parking expenses.

QuoteI don't mind giving you a lift up to Liverpool and back if you'd rather save on the train fare plus there would be no time pressure there, you're pretty much on the way for me anyway. It's upto you ultimately, if you'd rather get the train, that is also fine :)
Chances are I'd probably book into the same hotel as you also if this were the plan ultimately so it would also help you get to the hotel from the train station.

I appreciate the offer. I'll need to wait whether we are actually going to Liverpool and if so, I'll consider your offer. I don't mind taking the train to Liverpool if it's too much of an inconvenience for you. We need to ultimately decide whether we are going to Liverpool before the hotel booking prices become too expensive (As they tend to increase as they get closer to the date).

I have nothing planned for either 13th or 14th (despite being a weekday) so I should be fine.  :)

Leeds is easy for me but Liverpool is not an impossibility (Just harder and more expensive).

For Leeds, a single day visit is okay for me.

Liverpool on the other hand, I am considering an option open for a two-day visit (both 13th and 14th) for extra time, booking a night at a Premier Inn as it's further away for me and what Will has claimed, has more things to do. I'll scrap that option if it's too expensive for most of you or if there are any other complications. I don't have an issue going to Liverpool just for the one day but I must be back at the station by 8pm to get home (Unlike Will and Flopsy, I don't drive and I'll get stuck pass a time where there are no buses running).

For Leeds, I'll get a train from Rotherham Central Station like usual. For Liverpool I would need to get a train from either Meadowhall or Sheffield instead at about 8am or 9am depending on when we are going to meet up.

So. It all depends on whether people prefer to go to Leeds (For a more simple meetup) or Liverpool (For a more grand but more complex meetup) and what ideas they have in mind.

I'll still suggest Leeds like usual as ∫tan x dx already lives there and it's familiar to us.

So the main ranks of this pack are words describing levels of solitude? Quite clever...

I'm up for it just like the meetups from 2023 and 2024. Leeds is the easiest location for me to meetup. I don't have any preference on which day right now.

For Leeds, I can take a train like the last two times.

Unless something serious crops up IRL. I'll be attending.

Congratulations Kingshadow3
That was an excellent level!

Congratulations to you too Armani for getting second place.
Your level was also cool.

And thank you all for the congrats. I'll be choosing the rules for the next contest and I've already submitted them to IchoTolot. The topic for the next contest will most likely be either be made tomorrow or next week as he told me he'll will be away this weekend. :)

(this is Silken BTW, despite the incorrect username!!! :forehead::forehead::forehead:)

I should be good to join.

Why did we not play Lix over the summer? Is there something specific about the summer that meant we didn't play or are you just noting that it was just coincidentally that it just happened that no Lix sessions happened over the summer?

It mostly has to do with how hot it can become during the summer. We presumed that not many people would actually want to play during the summer heat, especially in the warmer countries and states.

I'll be joining. It's been a while. :lix-grin:

Resolved and I think we finally got it, so I have a good feeling about this :)

Intended solution.

And just in time too as the final day to update levels is approaching. Anymore backroutes found won't be patched out during the contest. If I were to finish a level pack with these levels in, I will have further backroutes patched out when I release it.

I've added more steel onto the whale. Unfortunately, this change has made it so that IchoTolot's solution is no longer possible.
