Bugs & Suggestions / [BUG][PLAYER]Graphical visual oddities of a laserer
« Last post by Armani on Today at 07:06:19 PM »

If a lemming get killed while he is lasering, the laserer's sketch remains permanently.

Bonus)

If a lemming get teleported while he is lasering, the laserer's sketch points to the old location for few frames.
I think this is relatively well-known but anyway.

In Development / [NeoLemmix] Lemmings New Worlds Demo
« Last post by Mobiethian on Today at 10:31:23 AM »
Now presenting a 10 level demo of Lemmings New Worlds! My second level pack using styles (with permission) made by 92Dexter11 and they are beautiful! This is what gives the level pack its name.

With this demo, I am looking for suggestions, routes to take as far as difficulty and design, any ideas that can be thought up to help this pack along. Also, level name suggestions are welcome!

Download link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1h5_yj7AqnDHdYYtq5nht5RcQfbbzMlMU/view?usp=sharing

A few previews (Names are subject to change as well as the levels):

"Golden Hills"

"Lemming Power"

"Broken Pieces"

The first playable rank is Breezy. There will be 10 levels in each of the three ranks planned and there will be 30 levels total: Breezy, Windy and Stormy.

Enjoy the levels! I am looking forward to your ideas and adding names to the list to helpers and to make the best use out of 92Dexter11's excellent community contributions. This forum is welcoming and helpful. Thank you for the help and respect! It's nice to know that there are still people willing to help out when it's needed.

Lix Main / Re: Lix chat history
« Last post by Simon on Today at 07:49:53 AM »
In 0.10.23, chat lines will be colored according to player colors.

I haven't touched the line wrapping behavior for 0.10.23. Only the first display to receive chat wraps correctly. After you return from play to lobby, the lobby will obtain the chat lines (which the game's chat display has wrapped) and chop long lines, which is the bug.

Level 4 was another quick one, although I have gone ahead and added some pieces to l2_beach:

As well as the terrain piece mentioned in Reply #16, I've added the chain as a terrain piece (for now) and I've extended the beach umbrellas' handles by 1px; a number of the levels so far have featured slightly longer umbrella handles, so these pieces were probably longer originally.

Level 3 was much quicker, took about 10 minutes as it's only a small level.

I'm fairly sure there's a terrain piece missing from l2_beach. It can be made from an existing piece by placing an erasing piece, this one here:

The one on the left exists in l2_beach | The one on the right can be created by placing an erasing piece and then grouping

It's not a major issue, but if I run into it again I might just go ahead and add the piece.

Finished Level 2. This one took about 20 minutes; some of the terrain arrangements are a little bit unusual, but it was easy enough to figure out. It's a bit like doing a jigsaw puzzle:

Haven't play-tested it yet, that will come after I've finished doing the map work for all 10 levels.

I've taken my demo topic down, it didn't save the final level changes. I'll have to do them over again. Done! :D

I'm actually making a new level pack using these styles only. Just wondering if I should release a demo. Very creative styles going on here! I admire your work! 8-)

These are just the sorts of styles we need - clear theme, beautifully crafted, high versatility. Excellent work, Dexter

Phenomenal stuff. Wow!

Autumn:  Very nice!  If I didn't know better, I'd say this was a style that they just forgot to ship with the original game.
Circuit:  It's alright.  Like the Brick style, the primary color is a little overpowering.  Brick has the advantage that it's used for real-world structures.
Mosaic:  I stared at this for a long while, and I almost can't believe that this follows the palette restrictions.  Marvelous!
Palace:  Not bad, but I think some of the the wood and marble textures could be a bit less realistic somehow.
Rust:  It looks monotonous yet very busy.  It's kinda depressing.  Taking parts from other styles and junking them was clever though.

Thank you all for your kind and thoughtful words!

My apologies if that was more negative feedback than you wanted.  Even my least favorite of these styles was better than a lot of styles I've seen over the years, so don't take it too harshly.

Any and all feedback is much appreciated, even negative feedback as this helps me to improve my work in future, thank you!

I really hope you'll make more of these palette-restricted styles in the future.  It really gives it that retro feel that I love.

I think I definitely will do another pack like this again. In fact, I think all my new packs will be like this in the future, since I'm really proud of how it turned out. I don't have any plans to make any styles right now, however.

I've released a new update for the style pack, this is just a quick fix to correct an issue with the water in 'dex_circuit'.
