updates to The climber and the Floater.

Also I made a mistake in the way we score the solving of levels but now I'm afraid it might be too late to fix it. Because changing it during playing may reveal who's who... Well I could just fix it when it's over (duh..)

Tonight I'll begin the last phase and try to end the contest before/if the forum moves

Dude. Could you at least announce your deadlines a week or so before they actually take effect? Seriously. This is about as spontaneous as things work here in Ghana...

the solving phase will end on December 26, (that's next Thursday), so no more replays will be excepted after that.
I apologize for not making things clear and there ended up being [imo] a too secretive contest.

In the meantime the voting and guessing will now begin! Please feel free to discuss the levels now. Guess who made each level right here, there's no voting or scoring on that

Anyone [players and authors or even anyone who hasn't participated in either first or second phase so far] may vote on each pair of levels with three categories:
appearance
F-U-N funness
originality

Vote each submission (consider the two levels together) a 1.0 (low) through 10.0 (high) You may not vote for your own submission.
You may also make a guess as to who created each level.
-Enter your votes to me via PM. Votes will be keep anonymous.

I noticed, that in the last few days, the newest version of Eyesis was downloaded about 5 times (out of 7). So I would be in favour of extending the solving phase even more (e.g. until January 1) in the hope to gain more players. This way all the holidays around christmas/new year will give them more free time to try the levels.

PS: I will definitely vote, but only after the solving phase is finished and I can watch all the intended solutions.

Mobius, maybe you can put the latest versions of the levels into the collection so that we don't have to hunt down your amendment posts? If that's not too much work.

this is a zip of all the recent versions [if I didn't miss any posts]

note: some of the files have different text format which means people aren't using the same version of Lix?

Correct, depends on the C++ core library used to compile the game. The Windows build makes CRLF endings, the Linux builds make LF endings.

The game doesn't care, it eats all line endings alike. The source code management has levels in their authors' original endings. Thus, line endings differ already among the levels in the main downloadable.

Only about one day left to hand in solutions! Do not be shy - even if you have only one single solution, the level creators will surely appreciate your effort!
And having played (or at least tried) all the levels myself, I can ensure you that trying them yourself will be well worth your time!

I have work overtime tomorrow  :'( so I may not get to wrap up the contest then. If that happens you'll have an extra day.
