ask for help/suggestions
« on: February 08, 2013, 07:45:10 PM »
Is there anyone out there who would like to help/review my database design - which is almost ready - for lemmix?
The goal is to be able to import different types of 2D lemminggames (and  creating new types).
If so, tell me and I will upload a doc here for review.

I'm not an expert in database design, I only have some basic theory knowledge (and basically no practice, but then I don't like implementing stuff).

I wouldn't mind taking a look, and see how flexible it would be for uses I could think of.

Also, it'd be nice to see a short list of the design goals you had in mind.

I'll try other sources. This is all too slow :)

Seriously? I'm away for a day, only quickly reading your post when I was in my office yesterday with the intention to give it a thought and reply today; I'm not available 24/7 to check and reply in the forum. Whatever.

You deleted the details, so I can't really reply anymore.

I know. It's not against you or something like that.
It's just not going to work this way I think.

Are you still working on the new Lemmix? If so, is there a way to increase the number of trigger areas that can be on a level? I want to start making remakes of PS3 levels, but there's this one level with too many arrows.

in case you didn't know; Lemmini supports a lot more trigger areas (i don't know the number but it's well over enough I think) and up to 8 entrances. Plus steel is fixed and the mechanics are a lot nicer.

You mean if I run out of trigger areas in Lemmix and place ten more arrows with no triggers, those arrows with no trigger area with have it in Lemmini?

yes. But Gronkling or Akseli could give you more detailed info.
If you haven't used Lemmini, look at the topics in the help here. (...*goes to look for this... realizes there isn't one* --------

I put a bunch of arrows and it works. Looks like Mayhem 9 can be made in Lemmini, which is my favorite level in the game. Not all levels can be remade, because most of them have pick up skills and teleports. Tricky 2 has a teleport, but it's not needed.

Up to 32 objects can be made, any more and you can't save the level.
