Closed / [Suggestion] Amiga skill buttons
« on: January 06, 2017, 12:41:50 AM »
I always thought the DOS skill buttons were... kinda ugly. Especially the christmas ones. Is there any chance of neolemmix ever getting an option to use the much nicer amiga ones?

Lix Main / Re: Colorblind multiplayer

One thing that might make sense is trying to sort them in terms of likelyhood to be distinguishable. Most users are lazy and will use the first four colors for a four player game or the like. If you make those most likely to be distinguishable you minimize problems even if you can't get a full palette of eight. For instance, the first two might be blue and yellow, which can be distinguished reliably by all three -anopias, followed by a deep red (using saturation and lightness)? I'm going off the top of my head and a couple reference pictures admittedly, but it's a start.

If it's under a different format, it should probably be saved with a different extension. .nlvl maybe?

I honestly like the new design more in 3d. It's slightly cuter and looks more like how I always imagined them anyway.

Well that was pointless - Beat two levels rendered identical by Neolemmix changes. (Fun 6 - A Task for Blockers and Bombers and Tricky 17 - Diet Lemmingaid, or Fun 18 - Let's Block and Blow and Taxing 19 - Bomboozal come to mind)

One thing that might be considered if you do remove it is coloring moderator and admin names. That sticks out but doesn't take up extra space.

Level Design / Re: Timed vs. Instant Bombers

Instant bombers are preferable, but I don't think applying them to old levels the way NeoLemmix does is a good idea. It just rubs me the wrong way... despite hating bomber-timing levels.

At the very least, a widescreen layout is probably a good idea. Implement the minimap from Lemmings as the rest of the status bar maybe?

Aw man, I only just beat Lemmings 1 finally, so I'm still stuck on Crazy 16.

Do we stick our names in the creator field, for engines that support it, or is this a 'blind' contest?

I only just recently finished Mayhem for the first time, so my perspective is rather different, but I voted for
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It took me to juuust before I got significantly frustrated with it and then made me feel like a genius after beating it, which is the hallmark of a perfectly balanced level.

Lix Main / Re: Feature Request: Next Level button

I'd probably just go to the next level - if the player is hopping around, they're going to want to use the menu anyway.

Lix Main / Feature Request: Next Level button
« on: January 08, 2015, 09:40:01 AM »
I'm liking the Lix engine for a lot of things, but it really, really needs a 'next level' button in single player mode. Going out to the menu and selecting the next level works, but it kind of breaks the flow. Is that something we could see soon?
