A ScreenThief question
« on: October 01, 2005, 03:22:58 PM »
When I use ScreenThief (the dos screenshot maker), it always works for a while, but it eventually jams X_X

Does anyone know why? Or should I try using it with Dosbox? :???:

I have no idea about ScreenThief, but If you're using DOSBox, then you can use Ctrl+F5 to take screenshots.

In the next version of Dosbox, it will be possible to record animations frame by frame. :D

Sprite rippers rejoice!

Except we already have the means to rip sprites without waiting forever for the next version of DOSBox.

In fact, I think the Windows version of Lemmings actually comes with a bitmap that has all the relevant sprites used for playing a level (namely, all the Lemmings animation).

What would be useful though is the ability to record solutions.  This is assuming it will not degrade performance too much (depends on your machine I guess).

Of course, you can already record frame by frame:

Just slow down the cycles and take a screenshot for every frame. But this is kinda boring!

This is why I talked about having a frame recorder on the next version of Dosbox and QBix accepted! :D
