Alternative Selection Method in Lemmings 2?

I figure I might as well ask now.

The first two versions of Lemmings 2 The Tribes I've played are the SNES and Sega versions, and in those versions they have this "cursor lock" feature that allows you to lock the cursor to a particular lemming, after which the cursor will both highlight and follow the lemming as he moves about, until you unlock the cursor.

One critical use of this feature is allowing you to select a lemming you couldn't otherwise select by just clicking.  Such as selecting a walking lemming when there's another lemming doing something under the same cursor.

In Lemmings 1, in the PC version for example you can hold down the right mouse button while clicking with the left to select a walking lemming when another, non-walking lemming is also under the cursor.  In the two versions of Lemmings 2 I mentioned, the cursor-lock feature effectivel
