Version differences
« on: March 16, 2008, 02:38:20 PM »
I remember reading about version differences some time ago, but wasn't aware taht there were version difffernces within a system. I am currently watching a video of the Amiga version on YouTube (warning: cringe-worthy solutions), but some of the levels (Fun 22 being the first one that I've noticed) don't look anything like I remember. Any ideas which levels changed and when or why?

You're looking at what might be referred to as the real original Lemmings.  It had four special levels that used graphics and music based on other DMA titles.

Subsequent versions and ports of Lemmings, though, sometimes removed those levels.  My guess is that you had a single-disk version of Lemmings, one which replaced these levels with ones using normal graphics to make it all fit on a single disk (I think one was called "Go For It" and was the "new" Fun 22).  The original Amiga version of the game came on two disks and had the special levels.

Yeah, our version was one disk, part of the 500+ pack.
