Title: 2012-06-27 released
Post by: Simon on June 27, 2012, 03:34:31 PM
Hi,

I don't have much time in the upcoming weeks, so 2012-06-28 is a small intermediate release that gets everyone up-to-date with user content. All the terrain and traps scrattered throughout the Lixlfpack thread is in here. Physics have stayed the same, so it's not necessary to update in order to play networked games.

Changelist
Download page

Not included yet: Lixlfpack levels (only the terrain/traps from the thread is included), tutorial levels by geoo/me, minimac's terrain. Also no analysis yet of Steve's Win 7 crashes, TM didn't have problems on Win 7 though.

Thanks for the update -- it's great to see my terrain included and the ability to mirror multiple objects (invaluable for designing MP levels :P )

However, you have an older version of my tile set -- after you pointed this problem out, I moved round several of the wall-like pieces so they fit together properly when the "16" grid setting is on. I've attached the current version. I also added spheres in a few more colours; no-one is using these yet, but the other terrain sets have very few circular pieces, so I felt it's good to have these just in case.

Thanks, I've reuploaded the archives with the updated terrain.

The updated version is 2012-06-28. I've changed the version number belatedly. If you have 2012-06-27, to find out whether you have to redownload, look at the directory images/proxima/spheres/. If it has 2 files, download the current version, if it has 14 files, your -06-27 is identical to -06-28.

I just downloaded the build with my new laptop and the mouse cursor does not appear anywhere when I open the program. I have no idea why this is.

Hmm. I don't have Win 7 around anywhere, otherwise I'd try compiling the game (or test applications with Allegro 4) right on there. The build is by geoo on XP.

Do you see the game's cursor sitting in the center without motion, or do you see a missing image notification (reading "frame?!?!") or no cursor at all? I assume the dialog boxes appear as intended?

Standard idea: Try running the game with -w for windowed mode.

No cursor appears at all. The dialogue boxes appear fine, but I accidentally set the language to German.
