Since rtw hasn't done any lemmings streams in a few months (due to being very busy), I have decided to start my own custom lemmings streams. If you send me your custom levels via email (send to colorfularty@gmail.com) or PM I would be happy to play them. Make sure you include your Lemmings Forums name, the level in question, the engine it is for, as well as any others necessary files such as custom music or graphic sets. I will play Lemmini, SuperLemmini, or NeoLemmix levels, so you have some options. Replays are also useful for me, as I don't consider myself to be great at Lemmings, but not necessary. Don't be afraid to send lots of levels, as I am more than happy to archive them.

Before I do any streams though, I want to get some feedback from you guys. First of all, is this something people are even interested in? Second, what day/time works the best for the most people. I am quite flexible, especially on the weekends, but if I stream on weekdays, then I will have to plan around classes and make sure to book recording rooms in advance. I'll post a poll for which days work the best.

I would have done it myself if my internet connection wasn't pants. I'll happily send you the levels which I sent to RTW and he hasn't played though

Just because one day gets the most votes does not mean I will exclusively stream on that day. I'm just trying to get a ballpark of which days have the most people available. I will make sure to not play a person's levels on a stream if that person cannot make it to said stream. Plus, even if you have to work on a stream day, I may not stream until you get off of work.

One thing I should point out: It'd be helpful to people who may not know you so well, if you either state what time zone you're in, or give all dates / times in UTC (and state that you're doing so).

That will be the next poll: determining the best time on the best days. I am in Eastern Standard Time, but I have a lot of flexibility for streaming times, especially on weekends, so I'll leave it to a poll.

My first stream is planned for this coming Sunday (October 2nd) at 7:00pm Eastern Standard Time. I was going to start at 8, but I could only get a room from 7-9 as opposed to 8-10, and I want to allow for more than an hour for the streams just in case. I'm sure those who are following the poker videos on either mine, namida or Arty's channel may be aware that we've started doing Skype chats during our poker games and it has led to some interesting conversations caught on video about any topic in general.

Anyway the idea I have is there could be a massive Skype chat going on during the stream, of course joining in is optional and the normal stream chat will still be there for those who don't want to but I just thought it would be interesting to see many people gather and Skype chat during the stream about the levels we watch Arty solve. Of course Arty himself is welcome to join the Skype as well!

Some of us on the IRC are already friends on Skype but if anyone on here is interested in adding me on Skype, just PM me

Of course I'd record the whole thing myself and put it on my youtube channel (with Arty's permission of course).

I'm planning on another stream this Saturday at 7:00pm EST. This time, it's not lemmings, but I will be speedrunning Mega Man Rock Force, a Mega Man fan game which is extremely well-done and fun. Even if you are not normally a Mega Man fan, I invite you to watch, as it should be quite a fun watch. Also, it hopefully will be under an hour. My last speedrun I timed was around 1 hour 12 minutes, but I ROYALLY screwed up in several places which cost me around 10-15 minutes. I hope to see you then!

There were quite a few ones that were always backrouted, which I would love some additional input on as the intended route needs to be "fun checked" ("not fun because too hard" I will ignore as this is not a argument for me )

Arty: Enable saving past broadcasts. The option is dug within the twitch account settings. Twitch then saves broadcast for two weeks.

Hey everyone! I want to stream the contest levels relatively soon, I'm thinking maybe this Saturday. I'll be using Youtube streaming because I'm SO sick of Twitch dropping my stream all the time.

I want to ask: how do people feel about me playing my own music for the contest levels? I dropped the idea and IRC and a few people weren't too happy with the idea, and I want to respect people's wishes. I understand people not wanting people to change the music they personally selected, but I see it as a way for me to enjoy the levels even more! Basically, let me know either via posting here or as a PM if it IS alright for me to change your music. I will assume by default no one wants me to change music.

Also, would anyone be interested in a stream of me just making Lemmings levels? I had the idea the other day and basically saw it as a way for me to get off of my lazy butt and start making some more ArtLems levels. Just let me know if this is an idea I should do.

Nessy's mentioned the BGM; I recall you changing the ambient/atmposheric track to my Contest #14 entry and I quite liked your choice. This time, however, I don't expect you to mind my selection judging by what you told me on IRC some time ago. I love sharing music with others, it's a topic very dear to me especially since next to nobody I know IRL has similar tastes.

Still, I see no reason to prevent anybody from enjoying a level if they'd like a different BGM to go along with it.

If you do make a change, please don't hesitate to tell me why on IRC/here in the thread/in a PM! I want any and all feedback!

This has been on my mind for a while now, and I want to get you guys' opinions, since you're my main viewerbase. I've been debating whether or not to focus less on Youtube videos and more on Twitch streaming. While I love making LPs (and I won't be stopping anytime soon, as I have many future LPs already planned/recorded), I also really like the community Twitch offers as well as the audience interaction. I also believe Twitch is much better for the future of online gaming, and thus more likely to draw new viewers.

What do people think about this? If I do start focusing more on Twitch, my Youtube uploads should not slow down, since most of my future LPs have already been made and just need to be edited/uploaded, and I'll start streaming around once a week at a consistent time (consistency helps the audience). Mainly, I've been considering trying to get good at the Link to the Past Randomizer or playing Roller Coaster Tycoon (if I can get it to work) or trying to seriously speedrun something.

Please let me know what your thoughts are about this. I really do want some feedback from you guys.

If you think that focusing more on Twitch is a good idea then I say go for it It's not a bad idea considering the fact that the live streaming has the advantage of the interactive audience as you mentioned. This can be especially fun for certain games where you can have the audience actually participate in a way. I can definitely see potential in that

Yeah, similar for me, and that takes away the whole point of the interaction with the audience. Well, of course you have interaction via the comments, but that's just like on any other YouTube video - the viewers can't give you hints on the levels, or comments about them.

It was really fun to watch Nessy stream PimoLems twice, but these are events people actively have to allocate time for. Doing this on a regular basis, on weekends or so, might become quite a bit more strenuous on people's schedules, both on yours as well as that of your viewers.

I'm taking my final vacation day of the year this Wednesday, and I'm planning on streaming that day at around 2pm EST (18:00 UTC). I'll be playing the OoT Randomizer, which I'm getting addicted to ever since playing with nin10doadict. I should have a way of recording it by then, and I've fixed many of the problems I faced during my first run.

I know I'm just the one guy, and that you stream HQ stuff and the fact that I've probably requested this of everyone and their dog by this point... but I wanna say this: it would be great for me if you lowered your stream's output quality / resolution. Otherwise, my connection just won't keep up. Or I could catch up after the stream; there would be less interaction from my side this way. I'm saying this because I enjoy your streams.

It depends on whether I record the levels, or stream them. If I stream them, then I do like to do it toward the end of the playing phase so make sure people have time to solve them on their own before watching me; I don't want to spoil anything.

In case you indeed finish the game, are looking for a "new" one afterwards, and should you decide to pick up Lemmings World Tour again, I just wanted to let you know that it's now available in both Old and New Formats .

Some remarks on this...

In general, I'd always advertise the Old-Formats version, because it includes the levels as intended, but in your case, I think you're already past all the major noteworthy radiation- and slowfreeze levels (like "Ayo Technology", "Japan", and "Only time"). After a quick look, there should only be a single one remaining on the Legend rank ("Blowing in the wind"), and two on the Groupie rank ("All you zombies" and "Hiroshima"). Meanwhile, the New-Formats version doesn't crash due to graphic-set mixing, which is a huge mark in its favour, considering overall game stability.

So maybe, whenever you decide to continue LWT, it's best to do so in New Formats, and then only switch back to Old Formats for these three select levels? Or playing them in New Formats first, just like any other level, and then showing the Old-Formats version for comparision.

Of course, continuing in the Old-Formats version would also be perfectly fine, since I'll continue to maintain both versions; any backroute fixes will be done in Old Formats first, and the level will then be re-converted to New Formats by opening it in the new editor. And you actually haven't had nearly as many graphic-set-based crashes as I would have expected, so the Old-Formats version still seems to be quite stable on your computer as well.

Just to clarify, I'm not in any way saying that this is what you should do next!   I just wanted you and your audience to be informed about these things, for whenever you feel like proceeding with the pack.

Since this information might also be interesting to other players and viewers, I'm putting it here publically (in the spoiler above), rather than just informing you via PM . I remember you contemplating a while ago whether you would prefer to do the rest of the pack in the context of a stream one day, or rather continue with the 5-levels-per-episode format.

I will indeed be finishing Lemmings World Tour Strato, make no mistake about that!

I can't say when I will be uploading more videos of it, but suffice it to say it won't be until my current LP is done, and I'll likely do one or two other short LPs afterward before doing World Tour again. I intend to continue doing it in the old formats, both for consistency's sake, and because it is the intended way to play. (Having made Sublems for SuperLemmini and NeoLemmix old formats, I personally like the SuperLemmini levels better, so it's a similar situation )

Sure, take your time with it! That will also give the more advanced users, like IchoTolot, who haven't been paying much attention to LWT while it was only available in Old-Formats (understandably so), more time to discover backroutes, so that we're going to see a greater share of fixed levels on camera.

Ah, yeah, right, for SubLems there were even some levels which didn't work in NeoLemmix, because they relied on certain "quirky behaviour" in SuperLemmini, as you called it.

It would still be great to have a version of SubLems available for new beginners who start out in New Formats, even though that might require sacrificing some further levels. I doubt it, though, since I don't recall any radiation or slowfreeze objects in the NeoLemmix version of SubLems. And how should they be there, if those objects were never available in SubLems in the first place?

So while you may have lost quite a few levels transitioning from SuperLemmini to Old-Formats NeoLemmix, I doubt you would even lose anything by converting SubLems to New-Formats. And since it's the pack with the best difficulty curve I've observed so far, it's probably also one of the most motivating ones for beginners!

Tomorrow, I've decided to do a marathon stream of the first 6 Mega Man games! This is something I've wanted to do for months now, and with the quarantine it's the perfect opportunity!
