Let's continue this game. Remember, if a person answers correctly, he/she can ask the next question.

Here we go:

What's the name of the only Egyptian Lemmings 3D level that appears in the Taxing difficulty? No looking!

There were four custom levels in the original Lemmings. What are the names of the four games they're based on?

There are a total of seven computer-themed levels, and their names (in order of appearance, I think) are:

Lemmings Inside
Breakout!
Motherboard
Lemtris
Family Tree
Across The Network
Critical Path

Suggestion: make the rule that you don't wait to be told your answer is right, you ask the new question in the same post as your answer, just as we did before. That allows people in other timezones to get a look-in! As it is, I now have to wait for EvilWeevil to be active again, by which time I'll probably be asleep and it'll be all IceEagle and EvilWeevil all over again.

If someone answers a question wrongly, the questioner points this out and the sequence of new questions is halted until someone can answer that question and the latest not-yet-answered question (if any).

Let's start again with a new question. I'm a bit annoyed by the overload of Lemmings 3D questions, a game I've never even seen let alone played. So you ask your first question, if I or someone else can answer it you can try to answer ours to earn the right to ask another

My first question is this:

As for tseug's question, it's a blocker, and IIRC, the level is called 'Everyone turn left!' somewhere is the Present set.

I don't think any of them are? I just played through all the Tame levels and I was able to get 100% with only one type of skill on all of them except for level 5 and level 20, and I don't see how you could complete either of those levels with only one type of skill. (I guess you can save a few lemmings on level 5 using only diggers but not nearly enough to pass the level.) Of the remaining levels, only level 7 and 14 required any thought as to how I could complete them 100% with only one type of skill (both used builders).

Edit: Scratch that, I just saved 56% using only miners. So I guess level 5 is the answer.
Question: Which ONML Tame levels can be completely using exactly one skill?

Probably Cascade (Tricky 25), only 10/80 needed to complete.
Question: What (original) lemmings level gives you twelve skills total but can be completed at 100% using just three of them? (Forgive me if more than one level meets this criteria)

Hmm, that's quite interesting, while The Lemmings Solutions refers to the two levels you called, my version, and e.g. Lemmings HQ has 'Time waits for no lemmings' and 'This corrosion'. So apparently there are two versions out.

Finlay's answer to the no builders question was Crazy 1, Wicked 1 and Havoc 20, but I just checked and Wicked 7 also has none.

I'll answer nobody's question with Taxing 9, Perseverance. I know that Compression Method 1 can be 100%ed on some versions but I don't know whether that uses just three of the skills.

* * *

Name the level with the fewest letters in its title
(a) on original Amiga Lemmings
(b) on ONML
(c) on Genesis Lemmings (three are tied in this case)

Hint: the answer to (a) is not Cascade.

Let's see here.

A) Save me. (Mayhem 29) 7 characters, only 6 of them letters.
B) This one took a bit of thought, but I think it's called "ICE SPY". It's one of the later have Wild stages. If I have to guess, I think it's Wild 14.
C) No idea, honestly. If I were to guess, I vaguely recall a level called "Libra", though I don't remember where it is in the sets at all.

Bah. Next time I make these questions up I'll have to check my data. I ripped the data from two separate walkthroughs; the one for Lemmings was taken straight out of the mac resources, and the one for ONML was just some guy writing it down, it seems, and I've noticed other errors. I'll try and fix it when I get home.

Save Me, Ice Spy and Libra are correct. Wild 14 is correct, and Libra is Sunsoft 6. To complete the answer, there are two more Genesis levels tied with Libra at five letters. (Sorry -- I overlooked one when I asked the question.) Can anyone get them? (Whoever gets the last part now earns the right to ask the next question.)

Then I'll finish it for you. The last one-minute level is Five Alive.

Quote
Name the level and its repeat in Lemmings that have both left and right one-way walls.
"They just keep on coming" (9 Tricky). The repeat is "One way or another" (6 Mayhem).

There are four ONML levels, excluding Tame, with at least one of every skill. This is quite a tough question, so I'm only asking you to name at least two.

Hmm, I played Lemmings and ONML far too few. I'd have to look it up, and that's most likely not the intension of this game.
So, just some wild guesses: 'Five alive' could be one, 'Lemming Hotel' had a strange skill distribution with every skill available IIRC, and then there was some long and boring snow level with five of each skill, but I don't remember its name/position.
EDIT: Just looked it up, it's Crazy 9, 'On the Antarctic Coast'.
EDIT2: More looking up, I was wrong with the first one, and right with my second guess. Hmm...

I doubt that this is enough to consider the question answered correctly...

The shade-effects thing is vague and confusing.̆ I know the Highland tribe has flaming red hair, that much is unambiguous.̆ The Shadow tribe definitely looks different from your standard lemming colors, but I don't remember for sure whether the hair still looks green or not, I just know it is of a darker color (which makes it harder to tell which color exactly!).

New question:̆ the 10 levels in Classic tribe in Lemmings 2 all use the same style (terrain and object graphics) as one of the Lemmings 1 styles, but on 2 of the 10 levels, there is an interactive object that is from the wrong style (ie. the corresponding style in Lemmings 1 does not have this interactive object).

Name (or describe, or reference a Lemmings 1 level) which Lemmings 1 style, name/describe the wrong-style interactive object, and name one of the two Lemmings 2 levels using this object.

You forgot about the Polar tribe whose lemmings have light blue hair.
Well, saying "assuming there's no shade effect" I meant assuming that the pixel color is the original color of the hair. It was very difficult to distinguish from the background which was blue, so therefore I assumed that the hair was blue. Just looking it up, it seems to be #202050, brightening it up #4040A0 which is definately blue-ish.

As for your question, too bad for me, it's far too long ago that I played the Classic tribe so far. Some time ago I re-played it trying to get 100% on level 4, but didn't manage that and therefore didn't go further...

Tame 13, Thunderlemmings are go!

Annoying question time: what's the fewest possible builders to save 100% on King of the castle?

I gave it a try and did it with 18. Probably not the minimum.

EDIT: Or maybe it is. That also appears to be the minimum with the conventional solution.

Given that the Mac and Windows version allow you to stretch bridges equally far going left as going right, the answer may well be one lower for those versions compare with the rest (Amiga, DOS, etc.)  I'll take a look this weekend I guess.

Oh -- not a good question then. I'm still interested to see what ccexplore concludes, but in the meanwhile, tseug can ask the next question.

OK... I'll give a similar one for no reason. :winktounge: However this one is much less fair.

What is the fewest possible builders to save 100% on Lemmingdelica? (Wild 19)

My record was 7 builders.̆ But, let's move away from these types of question please.

My Q:̆ In Amiga or DOS Lemmings 2, there are two levels that each have only two types of skills available.̆ Name the levels.

Not minimum, I have a 17-builder solution.̆ Lemmix replay:

http://it.travisbsd.org/lemmings/lemmingswelt/index.php?cmd=get&file=challenge_replays/Taxing23_saveall_17builders.zip

And it does look to me like you could save a builder on the Mac and Windows version due to the builder-stretching difference (in spanning the bottom gap).̆ I'll confirm later.

[edit: confirm on the Mac version able to get across the gap using 4 builders rather than 5.̆ Not bothering with confirming rest of solution on other platforms]

[edit2: now improve to 16-builder solution for DOS Lemmings, which should translate to 15-builder solution for Mac Lemmings and WinLemm]

16-builder solution Lemmix replay:

http://it.travisbsd.org/lemmings/lemmingswelt/index.php?cmd=get&file=challenge_replays/taxing23_saveall_16builders.zip

[edit3: actually it looks like you still need 16-builders for Mac Lemmings and WinLemm--although only 4 builders are needed to span the gap, it turns out the lemming that isn't assigned a builder then will still need to be delayed later while sealing the gap from the left]

I know that one of them is the first level in the Sports tribe (the one with the French name that I have no idea how to spell)̆
I think the other one is Successive Division (the second CaveLem level), but I'm not positive.̆ EDIT:̆ I looked it up, and I was right!̆

Here's my question:
Name all of the Lemmings games that have a level themed to Tetris.

Lemmings 2: The Tribes, and Lemmings Revolution. By the way, that french name is "Ceci n'est pas une pipe."

My question is: In Lemmings 2: The Tribes, what is the last level in the Shadow Tribe?

EDIT: There might be more Tetris levels...

Well PIGSgrame...

You are right! You have $1,000,000! Well actually, you are wrong, but close enough. You said "Moonwings"... The answer... is "Moonswings." But you won anyway! Now you ask a question...

OK, here we go:
How many levels that appear only once are there in the PC version of original Lemmings (i. e.: "We all fall down", "Just dig" / "Ozone friendly Lemmings" do not count)?

Just counted 33 Levels. The "Just a minute" levels probably don't count as identical :) If that's correct, then...
I don't think it is, as I've conted 39:
Fun: 3, 22
Tricky: 1, 14, 20, 21, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29
Taxing: 2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 24, 26, 28
Mayhem: 1, 2, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30

But I could be wrong as well, maybe I've overlooked a doublette? Possibly, this question was actually too hard...

Just counted again, and got 40 levels. Any odd number must be wrong :) I think I've already heard somewhere else that there are 40 repetitions, so 40 + 2*40 = 120 fits nicely. You seem to be missing Taxing 27, "Call in the bomb squad".

What is the highest number of builders you get for any level in Lemmings 1 - outside of the 66 builders in "All the 6's"?

Ya, I just came back to edit my post ;) So you were right, there are 40 non-repeating levels.

Because I just went through all levels to find out which one I've missed, I think I can answer this: It's 50, and you have it (at least) in Tricky 13, "Lemming drops".

If this is correct, then here is the next question:
How many levels in Oh no! MORE Lemmings require less than 50% to save?

Yup, I haven't found a level with more than 50.

And in ONML, there are only two levels with < 50% to save, Crazy 11 and Havoc 10... which are the only two levels actually about losing lots of lemmings.

What Tribes skill is missing from the PC version's practice mode selection? ;) Picture: http://eiderdaus.fateback.com/bitmap/l_tribes.png

I accidentally stumbled across that yesterday when compared the number used to represent each skill in the level format with the skill order in that screen. 0x33, the last one, was missing in the screen however. It's the blocker.

What does the title "22934" refer to? Wait, I don't know either... :(

What sports' devices/objects/etc. can be found in the Sports tribe levels? Name at least 5 sports (from scratch ;)) that is referred to in the sports tribe.

Golf, Billiard, Football, Tennis, Basketball.

Not to forget Wicked 6, where 37% are required although quite some more can be rescued...

Next one:
In the "original style" Lemmings games (Lemmings, Oh No and Xmas), there is one level which can only be solved by nuking the whole crowd. What is it's name?

Hail 6, "Surprise Package?". Great idea to use the "skill" like that ;)

(Blocker was the correct answer BTW.)

Next question: Which Tribes level gives you a total of 215 skill usages (at least in the PC version)? Deduce the answer by pure logic, as the Lemmings Solution is out of bandwith already for the next hours *grin*

Coincidentally this must level that I've been analyzing only today: I remember that there are 99 jumpers and balooners and it is an outdoor level, either the 3rd, 4th or 5th.
Got to check (the Lemmings solution outdoor tribe page is still in my cache :P): Ok it's the 5th, "Fridays walk".

The table in the sports levels looks to me very much like a snooker table. :P And I don't see a reference to basketball there, but I'm admittedly rather unfamiliar with that sport and might be missing some elements.
But I just noted (admittedly quite a bit late) looking up your profile, PIGSgrame, that you're from Dresden as I am. What part of Dresden are you from? (Maybe PMing is more appropriate for that topic...  :XD:)

EDIT: forgot to attach the new question...please wait...

"Have a Nice Day!" and "Have an ice day"

New question:  in Lemmings 2, which skills have, within their name, the name of another skill in the game?  [hint:  there are 3] [more clear hint:  there are 3 such skills, each of which contains the name of another skill]

In Lemmings 3, what does the text on the corner of the map on the loading screen say?

No, there are none. (Unless you don't count practice levels, in which case, Tricky level "Garden Maze"). Here, for each music, is at least two levels in which they are used(most have more, I'll point out if they don't):

Space Music 1: "Alilemms"(Fun) and "Lemlab"(Tricky)
Space Music 2: "Dot To Dot"(Tricky) and "Rescue Team"(Taxing) <--- These are the only two
Army Music 1: "Take A Dive"(Fun) and "Sliding Maze"(Fun)
Army Music 2: "Alpine Assault Course"(Fun) and "Let The Race Begin"(Taxing)
Circus Music 1: "Bounce Bounce"(Fun) and "T'uther Circus Level"(Mayhem)
Circus Music 2: "Which Exit?"(Tricky) and "Stilt Walker"(Tricky) <--- These are the only two
Computer Music 1: "Lemmings Inside"(Fun) and "Lemmtris"(Taxing)
Computer Music 2: "Breakout"(Tricky) and "Motherboard"(Taxing)
Pyramid Music 1: "Tooten Lemming"(Tricky) and "The Arena"(Taxing)
Pyramid Music 2: "King Coder's Tomb"(Tricky) and "Raiders of the Lost Lemming"(Mayhem) <--- These are the only two
Maze Music 1: "The M-A-Z-E"(Fun) and "Final Maze"(Mayhem)
Maze Music 2: "Garden Maze"(Tricky), and many of the Practice levels. If you don't count these, Garden Maze is the only level.
Golf Music 1: "Hole In Ten"(Fun) and "Land Ahoy"(Tricky)
Golf Music 2: "Fore"(Tricky) and "Driving Range"(Mayhem) <--- These are the only two, *I think*
Lemgo Music 1: "Attack of the 50ft Lemmings"(Fun) and "A Head Above The Rest"(Tricky)
Lemgo Music 2: "That's Right"(Fun) and "Play Time"(Tricky)
Castle Music 1: "It's A Run Around"(Fun) and "The Five Arches"(Mayhem)
Castle Music 2: "Castle Lemalot"(Fun) and "Catacombs"(Mayhem)
Candy Music 1: "The Bean Machine"(Fun) and "Candyland Climber"(Fun)
Candy Music 2: "Chocolate Drop"(Tricky) and "Jelly Belly Islands"(Mayhem)

EDIT: This is assuming you use CD Music. I'm not sure about otherwise.

I've got a neat little question... which outweighs the bumpage of this old thread, I hope.

Anyway: In L2, there are (at least) two levels that require just one skill usage. Which two?
