Hey all,

My brother and I came up with a fun concept which we developed into a level.

It's for NeoLemmix, and requires the 'Hoard' tileset from Lemmings Faithful.

Solution is also attached as a separate file.

I've played and solved your guys' new level. Replay attached. It's essentially the intended solution but I did better by saving a builder ;) Nice level nevertheless! :thumbsup:

Made this level to show off some tricks and to create a very technical and hard level in both execution and solving ability. I know most people arent particularly interested in these sorts of levels, but i hope someone can have fun trying to solve it.

Format: New NeoLemmix
Level Name: Gaps
Difficulty: Extreme
Graphic Set: orig_dirt, orig_fire, orig_pillar, orig_crystal, ohno_bubble

 
(i didnt put much effort into making it look particularly nice, too much backroute risk)

V1 of this level had a backroute in the first section. Please play V2 instead. Note that V2 does not have a replay, so Good Luck!

That's actually a really awesome level, Velixi! I only got so far in it, but I'll keep trying, even if it takes me a long while. :) I like the combination of tilesets used in this one. Great job!

Yeah, let's say there is one trick in here I would open a bug topic for, if we were still the the physics cleansing phase of NL.  ;)
That one is more of the bug side rather than the feature side in my opinion and I would not use it in a normal fair level.

It's a very special case so if the situation was not specifically tailored for it like here you probably would not encounter it. (Top right section and I even needed to enter clear physics mode to even check the correct terrain situation)

It has to do with the miner position that jumps ahead a pixel on his positioning while mining, so in a very very specific setup you can disconnect the miner from the crowd. This needs a 1 pixel thick steel plate on the floor and either only 1 row of terrain under it or some extra skills like builder+basher and a digger to seperate in him thicker terrain.

The other things I already knew of, but yeah let's say it's very fiddly and something I would not put on mass in a normal level.

Still a nice concept level for those things  :)

since V1 had a backroute in the verry beginning i have updated it, please download the V2 version from the original post showing the level.

@kaywhyn As requested, I attach my replay for your AWESOME Fire Level.

Kaywhyn, looking at it again, it may have been a slight backroute as I didn't have any use for the sliders. The execution on this one was pretty tricky to get right; dunno whether I over-complicated it? I don't think so, given there is only one miner.

I actually save all of my replays for everything, so I've got most of the levels on this thread with the exception of a couple from authors whose stuff is generally too tough for me (I'm afraid I got nowhere with saba's level above).

I'd be happy to be a pre-tester for your WIP pack, if you like - just let me know.

@Armani I finished all your levels from this topic, with the exception of Lemstein's Special Relativity :thumbsup:

I heeded your advice there and watched your replay after spending not a lot of time trying to solve it!

I knew the solution would involve a nuke, but didn't even know that teleporters reset the nuke timer like that! Even with that knowledge, the timing is very precise, in terms of when to hit the nuke and make the last lemming a glider. I didn't even get close to this solution. I guess in theory it could be worked out (I believe kaywhyn did just that) but it's a very hard trick/glitch to just stumble across!

In terms of the other levels, Cloud Kingdom was BY FAR the hardest. The others took quite a while, except for Thank You Mr Snail, Secretly Greatly and Welcome to The Woodworld, those were fairly easy by your standards ;)

As I've said before, big fan of your level design - they are very satisfying to work through and solve! Replays attached, if you're interested.
