I forgot to say something about #8.  I should've asked for a clarification but it wasn't clear to me if a "break" simply means something as simple as "I need to go to the bathroom" vs "I am actually choosing to put aside that level for maybe a day or so, and either try another level or just do something else, and hoping to get a fresher look by the time I do decide to try the level again".

Obviously my "1 day" answer has the latter in mind; I'm not that crazy/obsessed to skip eating, peeing and sleeping even for a tough level.  I swear!  :P

I'm guessing most of everyone else are probably reading it as the former--any interruption that temporarily takes you away from the computer/level, but you may resume as soon as that interruption is taken care of.

I think that's the first time I've done remotely well in one of these. :P
I don't know why I couldn't think of "Code" or "Bug". >.< Now that I know these, I can think of two other possible answers: "Test" or "Run". But both of those weren't submitted by anyone either. :P

I actually did interpret it as the second, interestingly. However, I thought "1 hour" was a nice 'round' choice (as opposed to my '6 minutes'... :P), and it would actually be fairly close to what I'd do, probably. I'm not at all a hardcore Lemmings player, though. ;)

Thanks for the pm, I'd rather not miss this.
Some of these are rather tricky, though... :P 7 seems especially tricky for me because I'm not well acquainted with this forum, and 10 seems tricky for me because I am very well acquainted with Simon's runs, but many other players might not be. :P

I also made it a thing to never get into anything remotely associated with Justin Bieber (I tend not to like pop music anyway), so now you're making me learn about him!!

Here are the results! 17 people participated, Julian is Simon’s brother.

1. Name a metric unit prefix.
kilo (1 pt) -- Akseli, 607, Simon, ccexplore, Proxima, Nepster
centi (0.50 pts) -- namida, Nessy, Julian
metre (0.33 pts) -- Crane, kieranmillar
milli (0.33 pts) -- bsmith, grams88
femto (0.17 pts) -- SQron188
giga (0.17 pts) -- geoo
gram (0.17 pts) -- IchoTolot
micro (0.17 pts) -- Raymanni

2. What's your least favourite skill in Lemmings 1?

floater (0.62 pts) -- geoo, namida, Akseli, kieranmillar, Proxima
builder (0.25 pts) -- 607, IchoTolot
blocker (0.12 pts) -- Raymanni
miner (0.12 pts) -- SQron188

Quote from: geoo
floater, Simon thinks it's useless (or blocker, for all the lovely glitches)

Quote from: Raymanni
Blocker (I'm assuming geoo will answer this too.)

Quote from: Nessy
Bomber [When it was timed it didn't have the puzzle-ly power it has now in fan-made levels :)]

Quote from: 607
Hm... that's a hard one, because I think all original skills are quite good. :P I'll go with "Builder", because I've heard they're overused.

3. Name an animal with 4 letters.
bear (1 pt) -- Akseli, bsmith, Simon, ccexplore, Raymanni, Julian
fish (0.50 pts) -- Nessy, Nepster, IchoTolot
lion (0.33 pts) -- namida, grams88
alligator (0.17 pts) -- 607
bird (0.17 pts) -- SQron188
deer (0.17 pts) -- Proxima
degu (0.17 pts) -- geoo
frog (0.17 pts) -- Crane
mole (0.17 pts) -- kieranmillar

Quote from: Simon
Bear (We had Bear in that in the last feud, it was very popular. Frog is very tempting but I'm not sure how many remember it from the Alligator TV feud episode.)

Quote from: geoo
Degu (I wonder if people remember bear from the last round)

Quote from: Crane
Frog (what else?!)

Quote from: 607
"Alligator", I guess. ;) Or Frog, perhaps? Hm... I think if people don't look it up, they might indeed go with Alligator. I wonder how many people will pick something other than Frog and Alligator. ;)

4. When will Simon get his PhD (he's currently finishing his thesis)?
never (1 pt) -- geoo, Akseli, Proxima, Nepster
1 year (0.50 pts) -- Crane, grams88
next year / 2019 (0.50 pts) -- ccexplore, Julian
2020 (0.50 pts) -- namida, 607
In 5 months (0.25 pts) -- Raymanni
In 6 months (0.25 pts) -- Nessy
May 2018 (0.25 pts) -- bsmith
Summer 2018 (0.25 pts) -- Simon
When he finishes his thesis (0.25 pts) -- kieranmillar
soon (0.25 pts) -- SQron188
waaaaay later than he should have ;P (0.25 pts) -- IchoTolot

Quote from: Nessy
Six months [Disclaimer: forget popularity I have no idea how realistic this answer is]

Quote from: Nepster
never (for feud purposes only)

Quote from: grams88
1 year (That's a top qualification, hope all goes well for Simon)

Quote from: 607
"2020". Just because it looks nice. :P

5. Name a Justin Bieber song.
Baby (1 pt) -- geoo, namida, Akseli, 607, kieranmillar, ccexplore, grams88, Raymanni, SQron188, IchoTolot
Sorry (0.50 pts) -- bsmith, Nessy, Simon, Nepster, Julian
My World (0.10 pts) -- Crane
You're so vain (0.10 pts) -- Proxima

Quote from: Nessy
Sorry [On another note: the Brick tileset is not overused; Justin Bieber jokes are. Seriously get a life people! :lix-evil:]

Quote from: Proxima
You're So Vain (I know he didn't sing this, but it's the first song that comes to mind when I hear his name :P )

Quote from: 607
“Baby". That seems obvious to me, so I wonder how this will turn out.

6. Name a Greek goddess.
Athena (1 pt) -- Crane, 607, bsmith, Nessy, ccexplore, Nepster, Julian
Aphrodite (0.86 pts) -- geoo, namida, Akseli, kieranmillar, Raymanni, IchoTolot
Artemis (0.29 pts) -- Proxima, SQron188
Hera (0.14 pts) -- Simon
Zeus (0.14 pts) -- grams88

Quote from: 607
"Athens". Hm... that was instant for me, but now I'm afraid more people might go for Aphrodite. I think they'll surely come out on top; poor Hera. But nah, let's go for Athens, she's way cooler. ;)

Quote from: ccexplore
Athena (but wonder how many would say "Venus" even though she's Roman)

7. Name a Lemmings Forums member that hasn't been active for a long time.
Clam (1 pt) -- Akseli, Simon, grams88, Proxima
Insane Steve (0.75 pts) -- geoo, Nessy, ccexplore
namida (0.50 pts) -- namida, 607
Gronkling (0.25 pts) -- IchoTolot
Mindless (0.25 pts) -- kieranmillar
Pooty (0.25 pts) -- Raymanni
ProbLem (0.25 pts) -- SQron188
Ramon (0.25 pts) -- bsmith
pass [he doesn't know any forum history] (0.25 pts) -- Julian
pieuw (0.25 pts) -- Crane
tseug (0.25 pts) -- Nepster

Quote from: grams88
Clam :8(): ( Now I could be wrong but I was wondering if Clam is doing more behind the scene things. Oh good question, I have a few members I can think of but what one would top the list). A few names I have in mind might be (Prob lem, Adam, Mindless)

Quote from: 607
"Namida". That's probably untrue, but I wouldn't know what else to say. Actually, I think we might have got this question before, in an old round? I'm not sure, I won't bother trying to look it up. :P

Quote from: ccexplore
Insane Steve (tough one, hard to tell what the newer members would pick)

8. A policeman caught you crossing a red light. What do you say to him?
sorry / I’m sorry / I’m very sorry officer (1 pt) -- Crane, Akseli, 607, ccexplore, grams88, Raymanni, Nepster
I'm colorblind (0.43 pts) -- geoo, Proxima, IchoTolot
It was still green/yellow when I entered the junction! (0.29 pts) -- Simon, Julian
hello / hello officer (0.29 pts) -- namida, bsmith
I didn't see the light! (0.14 pts) -- Nessy
It's my first day (0.14 pts) -- kieranmillar
When crossing the road, it is always at one's own risk and own resposibility. I save mine and the drivers' time. (0.14 pts) -- SQron188

Quote from: Simon
It was still green when I entered the junction! (Also traffic lights are questionable design. When users try to bypass the semaphore, it's a hint that the junction should be designed lock-free.)

9. Name a Finnish word.
perkele [dammit] (1 pt) -- Simon, Proxima, IchoTolot
sauna [sauna] (1 pt) -- 607, grams88, Nepster
Hei [hey] (0.67 pts) -- Crane, kieranmillar

hyvää päivää [good afternoon] (0.33 pts) -- SQron188
joku [someone] (0.33 pts) -- namida
kalsarikännit [underpants drunkenness, see quote by Julian] (0.33 pts) -- Julian
poyta [pöytä, table] (0.33 pts) -- bsmith

Quote from: Simon
Perkele (Jääkaappi is a strong second choice. I learned it from the back of a frozen pizza package.)

Quote from: Raymanni
Jääkaappi (Solely based on the fact that at least geoo and Simon know this too, alongside with 'makkara' and 'laulu'.)

Quote from: Julian
Kalsarikännit (Getting drunk at home in your underwear with no intention of going out.)

Quote from: 607
I had a tough time here, but then I found out "Sauna" is Finnish. That seems like a good choice, then.

Quote from: ccexplore
Suomalainen ("Finnish" courtesy of Google translate, although fiddling with it more suggest it's not exactly the wording you'd use for the language itself, but most people won't go any farther for feud purposes)

10. Name anything that could distract Simon during his Jazz Jackrabbit speedrun attempts.
Lix fanfiction by JudgementalSkeleton /  inventing Lix fanfiction (1 pt) -- Nessy, SQron188
chat messages / Twitch chat (1 pt) -- 607, Simon
computer crashing (1 pt) -- ccexplore, grams88
A freshly found new glitch in the game (0.50 pts) -- IchoTolot
Eva Earlong (0.50 pts) -- Proxima
Someone's eating noises (0.50 pts) -- geoo
Talking about things you want to hear Simon say to you. e.g. I want Simon to teach me Linux. (0.50 pts) -- Raymanni
Typing his name in IRC (0.50 pts) -- kieranmillar
aliens attack (0.50 pts) -- Julian
antivirus program (0.50 pts) -- bsmith
earthquake (0.50 pts) -- namida
nothing (0.50 pts) -- Nepster
pizza deliverer (0.50 pts) -- Akseli
telephone ringing (0.50 pts) -- Crane

Quote from: 607
"Chat messages". I am sometimes afraid my own messages will distract him, but he seems to know when to read them. ;)

Simon will tell the truth now:
Quote from: Simon
Twitch Chat (Twitch Chat is very general answer but there is really little elsel. I live in a 1-man apartment and there is no distraction, especially because I plan things around the stream. Doorbell hasn't ever rung during runs. I don't remember whether the phone has ever rung but I wouldn't answer the phone.)

1. Akseli (8.65)
2. ccexplore (8.58)
3. Nepster (7.75)
4. 607 (7.42)

6. Simon (7.18)
7. Nessy (6.31)

Hmm, I'm guessing question 1, 4, 7, 8 and 10 as geoo's, assuming an even spread of questions between the two.  Even though it's totally flimsy reasoning, I'm excluding questions 2 and 3 since geoo had commented on his answers, and including 4 and 10 due to being Simon-related.  Question 1 feels technical enough to be more geoo than Akseli, Bieber for questions 5 seems very unlikely to be geoo (then again I wouldn't guess Akseli either unless I missed some major epic IRC chat session), and the Finnish question 9 has to be Akseli.  Then I flip a coin basically.

[Alternate guess:  1, 3, 5, 6, 9 as Akseli's because their phrasings are all short and direct.]

I actually totally forgot about Clam when it came to question 7, so I guess in that sense the answer is indeed very correct sadly. :( tseug was my first gut answer but I suspected it is too obscure especially for the many recent members.

I refrained from answering "never" wrt Simon's PhD since that felt more like the old, long-running in-joke amongst the long-timers here (and the parentheses in the question would especially seem to suggest to new members here that Simon is indeed close), and I expected there would be a lot more non-long-timers participating this round.  But I should've figured that the people who didn't answer "never" would have too much a spread of different answers compare to those who stuck with "never".

Fun feud, lots of variety in the answers. Very hard questions.

I was surprised Hera scored minimum points but the others are all strong answers.

I guess that 1 (metric), 5 (Bieber), 6 (goddess), 8 (police), 10 (runs) are from Akseli and 2, 3, 4, 7, 9 are from geoo.

ccx has sensible-feeling reasonings, my previous Feud indeed had short questions. However, Simon guessed 80% right.

1. Name a metric unit prefix. - Akseli
2. What's your least favourite skill in Lemmings 1? - geoo
3. Name an animal with 4 letters. - geoo
4. When will Simon get his PhD (he's currently finishing his thesis)? - geoo
5. Name a Justin Bieber song. - Akseli
6. Name a Greek goddess. - Akseli
7. Name a Lemmings Forums member that hasn't been active for a long time. - Akseli
8. A policeman caught you crossing a red light. What do you say to him? - geoo
9. Name a Finnish word. - geoo
10. Name anything that could distract Simon during his Jazz Jackrabbit speedrun attempts. - Akseli

My comments:

Q1 - [20:18:09]    <SimonN> "metre" wtf, and it got several answers
Good variety in answers, even though I thought this to be "an easier" question and set it as a number 1. I am a natural sciences student, I like unit prefixes. :P

Q5 - I got this "aha moment" from the discussion about my 2015 Feud from #lix IRC channel Monday the 26th of January 2015:

[23:05:31]    <mobius_> Minim should be banned for mentioning One Direction
[23:06:16]    <Akseli> mobius_: I was thinking of putting in my next Feud a question: "Name a Justin Bieber song."
[23:06:38]    <geoo> ok we'll make sure you won't become quizmaster ever again

Q6 - [20:23:54]    <SimonN> wtf Hera is minimum answer, what has everybody been smoking
Another standard question. There was the risk of answering Roman equivalents of gods for example, like ccx mentioned, or seemingly even male gods, like grams88 answered. I agree with Simon, I briefly considered Hera, she's the queen of Greek gods after all, but thoght that Aphrodite would be better known for her relation to love and planet Venus, for example. I'm surprised that Athena got that many answers.

Q7 and Q10 - Deviant questions compared to my earlier Feud questions, now forum related ones. People were marveling the enormous diversity in answers that Q10 generated in the lix IRC chat, I concur.
[20:29:10]    <SimonN> Eva Earlong is quality answer
[20:30:35]    <SimonN> I'm surprised how inventive people are here
[20:32:04]    <SimonN> the pizza delivery is a strong answer but I have deliberately never ordered Pizza immediately before the runs, only once before the Lix
[20:33:39]    <SimonN> earthquake, there are no earthquakes here; and computer crash and antivirus are unlikely on Linux
[20:34:04]    <SimonN> not even a power outage cut my computer time within the recent 10 years, it's really rare
[20:34:20]    <SimonN> Lix fanfiction is strong because it's true

geoo's Q4:

I refrained from answering "never" wrt Simon's PhD since that felt more like the old, long-running in-joke amongst the long-timers here (and the parentheses in the question would especially seem to suggest to new members here that Simon is indeed close), and I expected there would be a lot more non-long-timers participating this round.  But I should've figured that the people who didn't answer "never" would have too much a spread of different answers compare to those who stuck with "never".

[21:17:28]    <Akseli> I think that if and when next time a Feud question begins with a word "When", "never" should be not allowed to answer
[21:17:54]    <Akseli> too dumb a shortcut for a questions about time
[21:17:56]    <SimonN> because it's so compelling? Hm
[21:18:31]    <SimonN> "name a state in Cntral America", that's easy, Mexico, "Hint: Mexico is not part of Central America and can't be an answer."
[21:20:06]    <SimonN> It's certainly possible to forbid answers and threaten with zero points
[21:21:10]    <Akseli> I don't even know if it's allowed
[21:21:38]    <Akseli> the most popular answer is the most popular even if it would be a factual error or something else
[21:21:38]    <SimonN> the Quizmaster can bend the rules as long as he explains everything nonstandard thoroughly
[21:22:35]    <Akseli> you asked "Name a jump and run game other than Super Mario" I guess
[21:23:33]    <SimonN> yeah, I ran a round where I thought of questions with obvious first answers, and then forbid those answers
[21:23:44]    <Akseli> yes, good

geoo and I have the password for Quizmaster if someone wants to host next round, I'm not that willing to do it immediately again even though I ended up at the top of the scoreboard in half my own Feud.. :o

You'd think there would be more "nothing" answers for #10, I wonder if the question's phrasing may have played a factor there (ie. if it had started with "What could distract..." like #4 started with "When...", would that have encouraged more "nothing" answers?).

[Then again, maybe "aliens attack" should be considered a synonym for "nothing" in the context of that question. :P]

There definitely seems to be a general gender bias when it comes to pop culture/general knowledge of Greek mythology, I think most people can name Gods much more readily than Goddesses.  While I don't remember exactly where I picked up Athena (maybe it's just easier to remember given Athens is an actual place), I definitely cannot remember Hera off top of my head for example, without looking it up.

Welldone to Akseli for winning that one. That was a good round of family feud, thanks Geoo and Akseli

I think I done it again, today we were watching the chase and I answered a question which I thought was 100% right then once I found out I had the wrong answer, I realised I read the question wrong. I think I made the same mistake again by misreading the question about the greek goddess. :)

Good questions which get you thinking.

Family Feud! These questions are by Forestidia and Simon. Only Simon, not Forestidia, will participate (immediately, so that he can't see what anybody else will answer).

1. Name a species of large cats.
2. Name a DOS platforming game.
3. Name the average number of skills (total skill usages available) in a Lemmings/Lix/NeoLemmix level.
4. Name a country in Africa.
5. Name the cutest rodent species.
6. Name a destructive skill in Lemmings/Lix/NeoLemmix.
7. You're having a restaurant meal. What is your side dish?
8. Name a species of fish that makes a popular dish.
9. State a tautology.
10. The Lemming and the Lix went to Just Dig for their first date, the level where it all started. What pick-up line did the Lemming say to the Lix?

The feud will close on Friday, August 24th, 00:00 UTC . Send a PM to the Quizmaster with your answers, trying to match the most popular answer between all players.
