how does Lix test such pixels

The physics map in RAM is already separate from graphics, and tracks terrain, steel, and gadget triggers. I duplicate this along with the graphics on every savestate.

The ruler sticks to terrain edges very nicely but by default the ruler gets obscured by the terrain.
Could something be done about that?...

Yeah, definitely needs clearer visuals.

The other criticism has been (it's different from NL) and (it doesn't go where I want); I would like to re-test with clearer visuals first before changing the snapping.

Function is coupled with dude-where's-my-exit: Apparently the coupling is annoying, but the only alternative seems to be more UI/hotkey bloat, which I'd like to avoid in multiplayer.
