Top 10 Google Translate Fails
« on: April 14, 2015, 07:36:48 AM »
While looking into Google Translate features I found this (courtesy of Google search of course ;P).  Funny machine (mis)translations are of course rather old-hat by now, but I have to admit I haven't seen some of the ones listed there:

Some of those are pretty funny. I haven't tried it with Google Translate, but at least with Babelfish, it's often a good laugh to translate something into one language (preferably one you also know, if possible) and then back into the original language and see what it did with it. Or run it through a whole bunch of different languages, give up on being able to understand it at more than one or two steps of the way, and marvel at how little it resembles the original text.

Haha, thanks for this.

I had a particularly good laugh at the translations relating to Pokemon, and the various singers, for some reason. Those were delightfully absurd.
