3D Lemmings Custom Level
« on: April 08, 2013, 10:26:21 PM »
Hello, Lemmingangsters. ???

I've made a level in 3D Lemmings. There are two files attached.

The LEVEL.000 file contains the level information, and the BLK.000 contains texture assignment data for each block. I've explained all this in the technical forum, so I won't get into it now. Just that you will need both files in order to load this level properly.

Anyway, just copy these two files into the LEVELS folder of your 3D Lemmings directory (this will replace the file of the same name, so you may want to back that up first), then load the first level of Fun.

That's just incredible! I have always wanted to create Lemmings 3D levels! How did you do it? Did you just write in the level file with notepad?

So, I took another look at this level, and managed to solve it. I'm pretty sure this is a backroute, though, due to how the miner is used and that the bomber isn't used.

That is the intended solution. Well done.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

There is a backroute in this level, but I see no way of fixing it. I've attached a replay of it.

I mainly used a hex editor, but I also used Minecraft (which I was using as a level designer) and a spreadsheet (to make it easier to identify where to edit hex values and what to edit them to) as tools to aid in the process.

I have located the Minecraft world I was using to design this level. I can't get it to run at the moment, but I did remember to take some screenshots at the time.
