...you think the fireplace was created using the fire tile set.
...you apply for a job in the boiler room.
...you dig the dirt with a pickaxe.

*Cracks his knucles* Okay, guys. Let's give this one a go...

You know you've played too much Lemmings when...
  • You try to make your hair bounce when you walk
  • You hold buckets high over your head to pour them out
  • You're only comfortable putting twelve books in your backpack
  • You'd rather hear the MIDI version of the radio
  • You scream "Armageddon!" when you need to clear something and start over
  • You've researched Lemming on Wikipedia
  • You begin to associate individual musical pieces with different kinds of weather
  • You try to stomp on metal surfaces just to hear them go "clink"
  • (Insert here a joke about posting on a Lemmings forum)
  • You think clams should have eyeballs (oh, I so went there!)
  • Jellybeans make that one music get stuck in your head...
  • You're agitated when a five-second countdown doesn't end with "Oh no!"
  • A friend of yours hears you listening to the music and wants to use it as her cell phone's ringtone...
  • The same friend uses the "Oh no! *Pop*" sound on her phone for text messages
  • Still the same friend and you immitate the Lemmings voices while playing the game and something happens
  • I should really give that friend a call and see how she's doing

For most of the year, yes. But you know you've really played too much Lemmings when...

- You think that when you decorate the fireplace for Christmas, you can put your hand in there and you won't get burnt.

Hey, you guys just gave me a great idea for something to put in my "personal text" space :D

  • You walk into fences expecting to be able to climb through them
  • You go to a baseball game expecting to see the players whack each other around the park (Simon: "to turn around")
  • You forget everything you ever learned about percentages - but on the plus side you can count past 80 now :P
  • You see someone change direction when walking and lament the waste of skills
  • You put a buzzsaw in your mousetrap

 :)

You know you've played too many Lemmings games when...

  • You put a jelly bean dispenser on your desk, and then wonder why there aren't lemmings building around it
  • Your grandmother knitted you a toy lemming when you were a kid
  • You still have the aforementioned lemming
  • You've been creating ongoing Lemmings-derived fiction for most of the time that the series has been around
  • You work lemming puns into your life as far as is possible
  • You expect your hat to magically come back to you if you throw it at people
  • You expect the aforementioned people to be happy and grateful that you threw your hat at them or otherwise collided with them
  • Saying "Let's go" before you go out somewhere is commonplace for you
  • You frequently find yourself saying, or at least thinking, that funny little "Uh?" thing from the builders in Lemmings 3D if you see something bizarre or confusing
  • You install a sensor in the frame of your front door that causes the playback of the appropriate sound effect when you leave and return home
  • Your first thought when you see chunks of steel is of Lemmings
  • You've taken a "What Type of Lemming Are You?" quiz and the result was actually your favourite tribe
  • You have hosted a Lemmings-themed pencil-and-paper RPG session
  • You have a mortal fear of the common, humble potato, even though research thus far has proven nothing*
  • You can look at a bottle or tin and imagine a revolving puzzle on its surface
  • The Lemmings games have somewhat influenced your sense of humour and speech-patterns in some way
  • You wonder what "Lemmingese", as joked about on the box for Lemmings 3D, might sound like if it were a real language
  • You noticed that the removal of the animation frames that show Evil Ed with a cigarette from the PlayStation version of Lomax was not as thorough as it could have been
  • Your Christmas cake this year is going to be Christmas Lemmings-themed

*(Potato fields are somewhere you just will not go. It's far too risky.)

Whilst some of these are purely humourous, there are a number that really do apply to me. :P (And, yes, I'll try to get a picture of the cake once it's been made.)

You know you've played too much Lemmings when...

  • You buy a crochet Lemming! (I have..)
  • You make a CHINK sound whenever you hit metal.
  • You make a Lomax hat out of a metal cup and red feathers.
  • You pretend a play house as Mr. Lemming's house.
  • You bash snow like a Lemming. (I did that too...)
  • Hack a game's graphics to replace the character with a Lemming
