I am without hosting right now, so I'm working on putting the level pack database on Google App Engine.  Don't worry; they're not gone forever -- but it will take me a bit to get everything working.

Until I get it finished, you can use http://www6.camanis.net.ipv4.sixxs.org/lemmings/.

Pretty much done, so here's the new Lemmings Level Database which is hosted on Google App Engine.  I've populated it with the data from the old database.

The only major feature missing is uploading a new data file for an existing level pack, so currently you have to delete the level pack and upload a new one if the data file needs to be changed.  I may or may not change this depending on if I have free time to work on it again.

If you encounter any issues with the new database, let me know. :)

I think you should give it a background and a Page seting how many level pack per page and there you have it but thanks for bringing it back

Many thanks for bringing the database back! The rating feature will be useful to find which levels belong to the difficulty category that one likes.

I see that you also implemented the sorting by rating now which didn't work yet when I tried yesterday. It's only a bit weird that all sorting criteria seem to share the same Ascanding/Descending Flag, so whenever you pick one criterion, the flag gets toggled, while I think it's more common to set it only when you click the same criterion twice in succession; sorting also takes capitalisation into account. But neither is much of an issue that affects functionality.

I tweaked this a bit, now there are arrows, so you can pick the sorting you want right off the bat.  Slightly smaller to click on though...

sorting also takes capitalisation into account.

Unfortunately, case-insensitive sorting isn't build into App Engine.

gj on providing the packages in a way that's even easier to browse than before.

The black stars are a hard to distinguish from the hollow ones for me, see upper part of the attached image. Maybe color the hollow ones differently in addition? Maybe use a different symbol other than stars for either the fun or the difficulty? Maybe don't display the symbols when a pack has zero votes?

Done, hollow stars are now gray.  Those are some sad-looking stars you've got there though -- no anti-aliasing.  :(

I like stars pretty well, but if there is a really good replacement suggestion, I'll consider it.

Maybe don't display the symbols when a pack has zero votes?

The only way to get zero stars is to have zero votes, but I suppose having zero stars is somewhat misleading.  I don't want to leave the cell in the table blank though, so I'll probably leave it for now.

Any chance the Lemmings File Portal can be made functional again?  In its current new location:

http://www6.camanis.net.ipv4.sixxs.org/lemmings/lemmingswelt

you can download files okay, but uploading doesn't work.

Unfortunately, it appears that the IPv6 gateway doesn't pass on POST requests.  If you have IPv6 (probably most easily via a Teredo tunnel), you can get to the site at the old address and upload.
