General Discussion / Re: Lemmings Gamebooks

They arrived today! Can commence soon.
This section allows you to view all posts made by this member. Note that you can only see posts made in areas you currently have access to.
Do you aspire to make a website out of them with one section per webpage, possibly even with cookies tracking the statistics? If yes, turn to 372.That's exactly what I was planning, yeah (although I would need help with something like cookies). The reason this came about is because I've been reading Ryan North's excellent Choose Your Own Adventure-style version of Hamlet, called "To Be or Not to Be". In ebook (kindle/mobi) format, the sections can be linked like a webpage (I'm pretty sure you could do the same thing with a pdf), so I've been reading it by tapping away on my phone's kindle app, if that makes sense.
Text files or HTML are easier to read than a PDF. If you wish to scan the books, then of course release the images or a PDF as-is.

May I just add that it's also the location of a lesser-known graphical bug on the mac, wherein the little wall near the top isn't straight, and a climber will stop climbing halfway up. If he manages to place a single step before falling again, which is slightly difficult because you often miss the chance, the wall becomes climbable, but it's a particularly annoying extra step!
Bad:
-the steel extends out too far on the steel block at the top. (though it doesn't matter that much)
-there's a pointless trap in the lower left corner area. there's no reason to go there other than to explore (I only found it in Lemmix)
-(I could say this for many levels but) in DOs and Lemmix picking the right direction lemming is MAJOR pain
MacThe music on the Mac sounds almost indistinguishable from the Amiga version (there are a couple of minor changes that I only notice because I've played it a million times), and they're in the same order. DOS lemmings is the one with a different order.
- High-res graphics (with occasional large effects on gameplay, e.g. Mayhem 26)
- Max # of Lemmings reduced to 80
- I haven't played DOS Lemmings to compare, but I believe the musics are in a different order?
Well, this post hasn't been moving for a while. Anyone mind if I continue it ?A while?? It's only been two weeks. I can remember making that last post.
(In L14, each entrance has another one behind it. Since there are only two lemmings, this is totally useless (but it would be useless anyway wouldn't it?)You mean on Lemmix? That could be to force the lemmings to come out in the correct ABAB order (on the Mayhem version where there's more than two lemmings) rather than the weird DOS ABBA order. Basically if you have extra entrances which are in the same place, they're effectively invisible but will change the order in which lemmings enter the level. I used it on a custom level with 4 lemmings, where I wanted 3 lemmings out of one entrance and 1 out of the other – I just placed three entrances overlapping.
