Lix Main / Re: [BUG] Hardware fullscreen not working
« on: January 27, 2024, 07:28:58 PM »
If I dont change the value beforehand it works but has a poor resolution. If I do make it my monitor size it just makes lix windowed and smaller.

Lix Main / Solved: Hardware fullsreen not working
« on: January 27, 2024, 07:25:48 PM »
Hardware fullscreen doesn't work :lix-sad:

Edit Simon: Solution was to enter exactly the native resolution of the monitor.

If you put an irregular value as your Lix window size it opens and closes again. At least I think that this is what this is. Maybe add a warning before making it an regular value?

Lix Main / Allow draggaing Lix's window to resize
« on: January 27, 2024, 07:23:45 PM »
Be able to drag Lix like any other normal window without having to specify a specific resolution first.

I plan to attend. I have no preference for date nor time.

Lix Main / Re: Lix chat history
« on: December 07, 2023, 01:12:57 AM »
In my personal opinion, I think it would be pretty important to add scrolling UI, more than 8 lines back could could include important information you didn't get a chance to read, and you might not want to wait to go back to the lobby to read it. Perhaps the reason it sounds low-priority is because we normally play the sessions with Mumble, so now we've played some 1v1s, the chat becomes more important? Perhaps the full chat should only show when you start to type, to avoid clutter, and then when you're not typing you can't scroll?

Also, while we're on the topic of chat suggestions, perhaps the names could be the colour of your Lix's colour as well? Sometimes I found it hard to differentiate between which messages were mine and yours.

Lix Main / Lix chat history
« on: December 06, 2023, 12:05:00 AM »
At 19:00:00 UTC today, me and Simon played some 2-player Lix. During it, the chat went to fast for me to properly read what Simon said, so the conversation topic come up of a suggestion for Lix that you should be able to go back and see the full chat history.

Site Discussion / Save "Who's Online" list prefrences
« on: December 03, 2023, 12:50:20 AM »
If I got the "Who's Online" list, set it to "Show members only", log out and log back in again, it will change back to showing every member. Is it possible to save your preferences for this list between sessions?"

Is it possible to add an option to log in to the forums with your email address as well as your username? I thought this used to be an option but I might be misremembering, but even if I'm not it would be good to add anyway.

Also, if any one wants to look at more pleasant/cute pictures, look at the Lix releases, because Simon puts a pleasant picture with each new release. :lix-smile:

Lix Multiplayer Dates / Re: Multiplayer Lix players, we need to talk!
« on: November 30, 2023, 04:57:04 AM »
The time and date is fine for me and I currently have no preference.

As for feedback for the sessions, I notice sometimes we play a map a few times, I slowly but surely get familiar with it and then we just switch to a new map after only a couple of games where I am familiar. I would prefer it if we played maps for a few more times before switching. I don't really know what maps count as "classic" or not. I'm speaking more about specific to the session, than between sessions. I suppose I would prefer playing the same maps between sessions too, though. Does "classic" mean simple? If so, I suppose more simple maps would be better too. However, I don't really mind what maps we play, I would just prefer to play them more times in a row per session. I do like the map where you have to send your Lix down, build a bridge back up and then free them. Just throwing my feedback out there though, nothing has to be changed.

Also iirc have we even been using the handicap feature, I think we only used it the first session after it was released?

The central gameserver is always online (Network Game -> Play on the Central Server). You don't have to wait for our scheduled sessions. Ask your friend in your favorite chat tool for a spontaneous session.

I used to have a couple of friends from other online communities but they now we're not friends anymore now. If we can make up and be friends again one day in the future, I'll ask them if they want to play Lix, and maybe we can have a couple extra players, but I don't know if they're busy, if they'd like Lix, etc.

If you have nobody to play: Ask me in IRC (Quakenet #lix, you can join chat in your browser). I'm happy to play 1v1, or with a group of new players. We can play even games or handicap games, as you like.

Sure! I'd be happy to play 1v1 with you. I heard that the IRC was deprecated now but I guess not.

(this is Silken BTW, despite the incorrect username!!! :forehead::forehead::forehead:)

I should be good to join.

Why did we not play Lix over the summer? Is there something specific about the summer that meant we didn't play or are you just noting that it was just coincidentally that it just happened that no Lix sessions happened over the summer?

Thank you for sharing PySolFC! Like you, I am into card game programs a lot and this is the best one by far! It brings back the good card games on Windows and not the bloated versions we have with adverts like now. Before this, the one I played was called "xmsol" if you want to check it out https://sourceforge.net/projects/pysolfc/ but I think PySolFC makes it obsolete.

Do you mind publishing that the full dark-mode pack? In my personal preference, your design is probably my favorite playing card design ever both from the perspective of talking about the card designs for the topic and just what I genuinely what to use in playing PySolFC on my own lol.

Sorry I can't contribute to the blog much in the terms of the actual linear algebra part as I have not learned linear algebra in school yet.
