I could use some pre-testers so if you are interested in helping me, please leave a comment here or pm me on the forum or LF discord server then I'll get the demo pack sent across to you! :D


1.) Introduction

I’m working on a small seasonal pack! : Lemmings Halloween 2023
I know this is not the most creative name for a pack so I hope I can think of an better name for it before the release. The pack is a little bit more than 80% finished now and will feature 30 levels when it’s done. :D


2.) Difficulty

My current plan is [Medium ~ Very Hard]. It will be similar in difficulty overall to my previous pack Xmas Lemming 2021.


3.) Rank

There’ll be two ranks: Festival and Funeral. Both ranks will have 15 levels each. Funeral rank is entirely consists of zombie levels :evil: while Festival rank is completely zombie-free! Both ranks use same set of tilesets:
  Spooky(ryemanni)
  Beast(gronkling)
  Menacing(gronkling)
  Halloween(dexter)
  Candy(namida)
  Agony(zanzindorf)
all of which were recommended by people on LF discord server :D

October 1st

Here're my replays to the final rank! (I had a quick look at the early ranks but it looks like they are mostly just repeat levels so i just went for final variation of the levels. ;) )

Overall nice levels and I had fun going through the challenges. Though I felt like some levels have unnecessarily tight timers and certain tricks occur a bit too often.(most notably, compression method)

My favorite levels are 5 08 NEO Star City and 5 28 Jumpers Onto Field.
The latter, I made my life harder by trying to save 5 lemmings(which is hypothetically maxmum one can save) and it pays off :laugh:

Now since the whole pack is fallen, I will see if I can make some kinds of creator's commentary series. Commentary video series would be ideal but if my lack of English skill strikes back, I may instead consider simple posts on forum about thought process while I was making levels, some random fun facts about titles&level themselves, my level making process in general etc...
We will see...:laugh:

You will get the green marker(and the talisman accordingly) only when the username of the Neolemmix and the replay file are identical.


When you first install and run Neolemmix, you are asked to set you user name.(default is "Anonymous") If you solve a level and save the replay, the replay is assigned the username of the NL.(Open any replay file and look at the first line of the file. You will notice that every replay files have User names assigned to them) So if you run a replay of other users, you won't get a green marker even if the replay is valid and complete the level.

I watched the video and I noticed that you have a lot of different version of Neolemmix installed in your PC and it's possible that you accidently set the username differently on them. That's also a possiblity.

Any inputs while you're running a replay will immediately stop the replay. From there on, you can do whatever you want and  you will get the green marker when you complete the level.(and new replay file with your name on it if autosave option is activated) Changing the release rate is just one way of doing so

I really enjoyed making my first level pack and learned a lot from it. I can see many things I could've done better.(bad music choice, several level relying on fiddly and obscure tricks, wonky difficulty curve etc...) Good luck and have fun! :thumbsup:
