Second Holiday Lemmings upload to display the Alt-F12 trick!
https://youtu.be/Q9ENROswVS0
TURN SOUND DOWN A BIT. Fast forwarding is noisy!

Thanks, it appears I have HL94 with the ONML tunes and one level with non-holiday tile set.
Luckily, now that I've learnt of the alt-F12 function that works like a fast forward button in DOSBox, it's become bearable! ;)

Not sure about where to put this, but by pressing Alt-F12 in DOSBox you can speed up emulation. Meaning you can use this as Fast-Forward button in Lemmings versions that don't have this.

How It Works:
Start up a level where you have to spend some time waiting
At the point where the waiting section start, press and hold alt + F12 to speed up the game
By letting go of the keys, DOSBox returns to normal speed.

Thanks Qbix for the tip!

At present I'm gritting my way through Holiday Lemmings. I love the puzzles but if there's one reason why I can't keep up a decent playing speed, it's the infernal tunes. I'm now at the Flurry 16 level after playing through all the 1994 levels.
I have a Holiday Lemmings re-release by Dice Interactive. It was bundled in one Christmas package with Lemmings Revolution, quite an odd couple. I wasn't sure if I could get it to run by using the MSDos starter, so I copied the game contents into a folder and am playing it through DOSBox.

The game only plays 3 songs, always in the same order and always the same one upon start-up. So when you're stuck on a level and you fire up the game again to give it another go, it'll always play the same midi. I'd hoped that upon reaching the 1993 levels, the game would change its tune. But it hasn't. I'm still listening to the same three buggers.

Is that normal for Holiday Lemmings 1994?
Or is it related to the Dice re-release?
Or is it related to me running the game in a way it wasn't really supposed to run?

8-) Just uploaded my first Lemming video to Youtube!
https://youtu.be/FVEQjarLIMY

I found the 4 stairs solution to Steel Block Party to be too hard to manage - invariably I'd run out of diggers/set climber to dig too late / miss the timing and have all lemmies walk back / dig in such a way that another little step would form so all lemmings would walk back etc.

So I came up with this one.

<--- Well, for starters there's my avatar...

There's this birthday cake I drew back in 2009 when I was member of this Lemmings forum, bugging everybody about my troubled copy of Lemmings Revolution:

There's these croched Lemmings I made using the pattern already posted about here: yet I didn't like the hair in that, so I used different yarn to make it look more like hair. All the strings are individually knotted. First I made the one that doesn't have much hair, because I didn't like how he looked, I always thought they wore this sort of blue dress. So I made another one in white and crocheted a blue dress around it, and gave that one a lot of hair.
My father's trying to press me to make a hundred of them to match the game, but luckily there's The Great Lemming Caper. :)

Then I once knitted a Lemmings wig and once made a video of me as Lemming, then made a gif out of it, but I'd rather not share that one.

Non-Lemmings Gaming / Re: Any forum about The Incredible Machine?

Cool!

I'm on a Sierra fan forum at http://www.sierrahelp.com/forums where there're a lot of fans of the Sierra games and Sierra family games, Dynamix games were later published by Sierra. There's a subsection on TIM. Unfortunately posting in one of the Other... game sections can mean your posts would get buried, but if you have any TIM levels, that's one good place to share!

Never got to play much TIM but I was a huuuuge fan of Sid & Al's Incredible Toons, later re-released as The Incredible Toon Machine.

Thanks for the tip though, very nice!:D

Also made a new avatar for this place...

I'm sorry, did I say I was having fun replaying Lemmings? I've been stuck on King Of The Castle (Win95) for days!

You're correct, thanks for letting me know!

Anyway... textless is great. I love using it to add information that may not be interesting to the casual viewer, like technical issues or side info. Though I can imagine that in, say, horror games, voices do have added value.

It still tends to cut off ends of video segments. Though it doesn't jam as much as it did back when I made my first film.

Oh please not Windows Movie Maker... that gave me such trouble when I made a compilation video...

Yeah I have a Dice re-release box that also packs X-mas Lemmings. It has High Dive patched, but the incorrect fall-height leaves Tanks A Lot and one other level unfinishable because the Lems are likely not to survive the fall they need to make. So instead of one unplayable level, you have two unplayable levels. :o

I'm not sure if there's been any interesting patch development since then - there's one I found that fixes the colours, but I couldn't find any that fix the fall height.

Since then I did get to finish all the levels of the original game, as I got two copies (one test copy even) of the CD-i version, and at present I'm having fun with replaying the Windows version.
