Wimpy 18: Down The Wall

Lemmings: 50
To save: 45
Release rate: 50
Skills: 20 of every skill except floaters

Good: The lack of floaters makes for an interesting puzzle revolving around trying to get a large crowd of lemmings safely down the level. There are many, many ways to go about it and all of them are unique.
Bad: Just a personal preference but the small red pillar terrain towards the center doesn't look like much at first but it's possible to use it for more trivial solutions that completely skip using the wall that the title of the level is referring to.

Granted! ... but WillLem managed to find the Delorean back in 1988, accidentally crash it in 2020, and cause a rupture in the space-time continuum that caused the collapse of society therefore making money worthless.

I wish my voice wasn't so cringy on YouTube.

Granted! ... but with this new and less consuming way to make sprites you make too many that half of the forum forgets what the original sprites were like which leads to a giant civil war on what the original Lemmings look like.

I don't wish for anything.

Hello again and thank you for your patience. I am now and finally in the process of looking over replays carefully and fixing levels. Once I update all levels that have been backrouted I'll post a detailed log of what was changed/fixed along with the updated version of the pack in the original post.

In the meantime I have updated the second post of this thread with some music credits and some fun facts about selected levels from the pack :) It'll also be updated regularly with hints on selected levels as more feedback comes in.

Hello, it's been a while. I haven't been active at all on the forums or the dedicated Discord for this community these last few months. I must confess that I don't want to detail why this was the case (it has nothing to do with the forums though), but I'm hoping that after this long break I'm ready to come back into the swing of things :)

Thanks for playing everyone! Here are my responses to your replays:

WillLem (click to show/hide)

I am in the process of slowly going through my own pack looking at replays and fixing levels so when I'm done with that I'm going to post the fixed levels on here.

Lemmings Main / Re: My Introduction and my Lemmings History

Sorry if I'm a bit late but welcome to the forums kaywhyn! :D This truly is a great community and there's a little bit of something for everyone whether you just want to solve puzzles, make your own content, etc. I'm on the side of the spectrum that seems to love making my own puzzles more solving them because I'm actually not that good at solving :P I also tend to be more of a traditionalist when it comes to making levels but I'm not afraid to try out new things every now and again like new skills or custom graphic sets.

Look forward to seeing you around the forums

I'll be away on holiday between February 29 and March 8 so my activity will pretty much be zero.

Hopefully when I come back my interest in Lemmings will pick up again and I'll finally get around to doing things like fixing up my new pack :D

Wimpy 15: Just When You Think You Know!

Lemmings: 20
To save: 5
Release rate: 99
Skills: 20 of every skill

Good: Given the strange shape and structure of the terrain it provides an interesting challenge of having to control the crowd in a way where just simply placing blockers to control the crowd is no longer the most ideal strategy especially considering the 99 release rate.
Bad: I want to say that the terrain is a double edge sword because without any knowledge of this level's repeat (which you shouldn't have anyway when playing this level for the first time), the terrain seems a bit... random? Like I guess another way to reword is to say that the level definitely does feel like an easier repeat of something which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it does diminish this incarnation a little bit once you solve the harder version of this level.

Wimpy 13 - A Magician Would Be Handy

Lemmings: 80
To save: 40
Release rate: 75
Skills: 40 of every skill

Good: This level introduces you to some pretty extreme obstacles such as having to build up to really high places, manage and prevent lethal falls, and having to figure out a way to dig out a ceiling of terrain to reach the exit without any proper upward destructive skills. However, the level does give you a very large skillset that allows players to freely experiment with them and start figuring out some more advanced strategies and tricks all on their own and without having their hand held.
Bad: I wouldn't say this is a "bad" thing but I guess for this level still being early on in Wimpy it can be a bit intimating for new players especially if they somehow don't learn any new tricks and they just brute force through everything.

Wimpy 10 - Labyrinth of Despair

Lemmings: 80
To save: 72
Release rate: 80
Skills: 30 of every skill except Floaters which is 5

Good: One of my favorites from this rank. The fact that you don't have a lot of floaters now presents the challenge of having to navigate some pretty tricky terrain to not only save the lemmings from the hatch on the right but also make sure you don't accidentally crave out a path that leads to lethal falls as well.
Bad: Not much to say. I guess having 30 of all the other skills does neglect the need to conserve or use your skills wisely so it becomes less of a puzzle since any type of mistake can be easily fixed or any type of strategy can be executed. Then again this is only the second rank so this is without a doubt a nitpicky thing :cute:

First of all thank you so much everyone for your very kind comments and replays

I deeply apologize for the lack of any type of feedback posted on here after checking your replays. My interest and motivation for Lemmings went rock bottom after completing the pack and I think it just sought of happened after completing a larger project that was a lot more ambitions on every level than my previous pack. I know it's not a good excuse but it is the truth. I do hope to slowly go over everything this week and at least give you guys something even if it's just feedback on the easier ranks. Thank you for your patience and I hope to slowly regain my interest and motivation again :)

General Discussion / Re: Post some jokes here!

Corny jokes posted in another Discord server I'm a part of. Enjoy!

- Thanks for explaining the word "many" to me, it means a lot.

- Past, present, and future walked into a bar, it was tense.

- Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewbacca walk into a bar. Yoda walked under it.

- Son: Daddy, I'm cold. Dad: Go in the corner. It's always 90 degrees over there.

- I got so bored watching the earth rotate, so after 24 hours I called it a day.

Finished playing the new Switch remake of Link's Awakening. It's a very faithful remake of the original with the exception of very small things here and there. Honestly, the only really noticeable change was the possibility that the boss of the secret, optional dungeon only present in the DX version of the original game was nerfed a little bit. I'm not complaining because from what I remember he was a pain :P My next step is to 100% it (which I've never done) and to try to do a deathless run of it to get the best ending.

I'm also going to take advantage of the at-the-time-of-this-post Steam sell going on to finally pick up a copy of Five Nights At Freddy's Help Wanted especially now that you no longer need a VR headset to play it because there's now a non-VR gameplay mode available in one of its recent updates. I might even get another copy of World Of Goo: a beautiful game that introduced me to the wonderful world of indie games over a decade ago
