Thanks for playing ericderkovits!

Yeah it looks like my attempt at fixing a previous backroute in Neon 10 created a horrible new one :forehead: Thanks for bringing it to my attention I'll go ahead and produce a fixed version during the next update :)

I'm not playing this but my brother is and I thought I'll share it on here anyway.

I've been watching my brother play a Paper Mario romhack called "Paper Mario: Master Quest" which is supposed to be an INSANELY hard version of the game where enemies and bosses are buffed as hell and overpowered moves and badges are nerfed by having them either take less damage or cost more FP. My brother has managed to get all the way to Chapter 7 at the time of writing this post and I am completely amazed at how he managed to beat some of these bosses.

His first major roadblock was Chapter 3's boss which is actually two parts. In the vanilla game the first part is supposed to be the true boss while the second part is extremely easy and is merely there to prove a plot-related point. In Master Quest that second boss is now a more legit boss battle that has to be fought after fighting an even tougher first part. His other roadblocks were Chapter 4's boss and Chapter 6's boss... and Chapter 6's boss was already a fairly notorious boss battle in the vanilla game.

General Discussion / Re: Dreams

I had this dream a few days ago and forgot to write it down here so some details have become even more fuzzy but here we go :8():

I don't remember why but I went with someone to the store but I don't remember who I went with or what store we went to. The weather was getting ugly with dark clouds overhead ready to start sending rain down. In the area that I live this is pretty much a common occurrence during the summer-ish time so I didn't think much of it at the time. We finished shopping and went back to the car (which was a pickup truck) and the rain and wind started to pick up. Once we got into the car suddenly a HUGE gust of wind passed through. Even though I had no conclusive evidence, in my dream in my mind at that moment I knew that the gust that passed by was almost equivalent to a gust of wind in a category 5 hurricane! During that gust the back side of the pickup truck moved so that the car was now 45 degree to the parking space, and as easy as the gust passed it was gone and the weather continued with normal rain and wind conditions. Me and whoever I was with got out of the car to go around inspecting the damage caused by what I nicknamed at the time "The Gust" (not creative at all, I know). The only damage I remember seeing was an empty wheelchair made of glass (for some reason) that shattered up against a wall and other people were already inspecting it. Afterwards me and the person I was with decided to take shelter in someone else's home... which was filled with other people trying to take shelter as well just in case another "Gust" passed by.

Later on in the dream I found myself in the very back row of a stage theater about to watch... something. I don't know and I don't think the dream ever specified what it was. The person I was with was gone and instead I found my old boss there sitting close to me. I asked him what he did during "The Gust" and he sat up, looked at me, and was ready to tell me an entire story about what happened to him. Unfortunately that's when the dream ended.

Even if no one reads them I find it quite enjoyable to write down these dreams :)

9-8: Feeling Gravity's Pull

Lemmings: 56
Save: 50
Time: 6:00
Release Rate: 1
Skills: 2 Climbers, 10 Bombers, 2 Blockers, 12 Builders, 4 Bashers, 4 Miners, 8 Diggers

Good: Oh boy this one's a fairly tough one! There are a ton of moving parts to the level such as switches, lasers, teleporters, and upside-down and it isn't trivial on how to approach them all especially with a deceptively large amount of skills.

Bad: I'm going off of memory so I'm not 100% sure but I think that it is possible to hit the switches in such an order that the lower platforms over the balloon are opened before the top ones are which leads to the main crowd of lemmings actually splatting as they fall towards the balloon. There is no indication as to what switch opens what and it comes down to a small amount of trail and error. Nothing too major but it can still suck for it to happen after going through all the trouble of solving the rest of the level.

"Can't get there from here" is another one of my favorites and one that did truly stump me back then :)

9-3: Lemmings Four the Drop

Lemmings: 4
Save: 4
Time: 5:00
Release Rate: 69
Skills: 1 Floater, 4 Bombers, 6 Builders, Four Diggers

Excellent: The pun in the title :P

Good: A nice, simple puzzle revolving around the theme of four lemmings having to be released from their initial areas in the right order so that they can help the other lemmings in the level.

Bad: It's way too easy of a level for its late position especially considering the fact that it's surrounded by "Can't get there from here" and "Booby trap". This level would have been perfect towards the very beginning of the game in order to ease players into actual puzzles instead of having the huge amount of tutorial levels it had.

"Walk the plank or join the crew?" was actually one of my favorite levels as a kid and I was able to do both solutions assuming that long bridge directly to the exit strategy is intended. I'm actually not sure but it works pretty well  I was also never sure about that weird teleporter behavior and why it spits you out the other side. Wonder if it was it supposed to be an intended troll or a bug?

9-1: Bamboo Maze

Lemmings: 50
Save: 48
Time: 5:00
Release Rate: 49 (I think)
Skills: 1 Climber, 1 Blocker, 10 Bashers, and 10 Diggers

Good: Visually beautiful looking level and insanely fun to solve as there are multiple solutions through the maze and none of them are trivial especially with the lack of builder skills and only having one blocker skill which makes crowd control more important.

Bad: It's still very easy to backroute this level and I can't help but wonder what exactly was the intended solution supposed to be, if any? There just seems to be a lot of obstacles on the level that don't seem to get used (such as the switch that opens up the 2-lemming countdown wall at the bottom right) or they just seem to be so insanely easy to bypass due to a lack of steel in some areas.

I think I finally got it. ;)

Well done that's intended!

V7 of "Built To Rule The World" in Rule 2!

Made the pillar on the right hand side of the "tower" thicker.

72
@Armani: yep your solution is still a backroute.

@IchoTolot: actually your solution on the left hand side uses the intended trick but that right hand side is similar to Armani's solution and still very much not intended :P

73
@IchoTolot haha nice backroute :D I'll have to think about this one for a bit before V4

74
Very good attempt Armani! Unfortunately, there is one central trick missing from your solution so I have to fix it :XD:

My non-Lemmings gaming has been pretty packed lately :)

First off, I borrowed a copy of Doom 2016 from my brother and managed to beat it not too long ago. Epic game! The Doom series is always going to have a special place in my heart because I have such amazing memories of my childhood self playing the first two DOS games with my dad. It's one of the very few games that we can both understand and enjoy.

Next up, I finally started playing Super Meat Boy (another epic game!) and Final Fantasy VII (the original not the remake). I've been interested in playing a Final Fantasy game for a long while now and I thought the 7th one would be a good starting point. So far I'm really enjoying it
