Thank you everybody for the replies . I will take a look at them and give you my detailed comments about each replay (especially for you Akseli like I promised in chat ;)).

streamed the contest #13, (in two parts) about half of the levels, solved some of them. Had fun; thanks to those who came :D

didn't solve: Nessy's level or BSmiths level but made some interesting progress on them.

Sorry I couldn't make it to the livestream :(, but I saw a little bit of your attempts on my contest level and I have a few comments:

I can probably watch the stream if you start now, but I may not stay for all 2 hours. I might, but no guarantee :)

I might be able to make this stream if it's in the afternoon, but I'm not 100% certain yet.

Sorry about that :-[. Disregard everything I said ;)

Okay, so I really like the ordering of the first two and three ranks, and the talisman as well especially the gold ones that can even give people familiar with those levels a good challenge.

Sorry for my absence on this thread lately.

I really like the ordering of all the levels. The only level that really stood out to me as being out of place was Down The Tube. Maybe it's just me, but I don't feel like that level should be one of the last levels of the final rank, especially after Let's Go Camping, No Added Colours Or Lemmings and Lemmings' Ark strictly from a difficult-for-a-beginner perspective and not a popularity perspective. However, I don't think we should move it into another rank because that's going to cause more of a headache figuring out what to add to replace it and what to take out and such. Maybe switch it with another rank 5 level? Maybe with Final Impediment or Fall And No Life Part 2 like you suggested a while back?

What does everyone else think about this?

And nin10doadict you should never feel like a moron ;), but personally I found No Justice For The Hero to be a tough level to figure out the very first time you play it. That and With A Little Help From My Lem, whose difficulty we underestimated when we went through the list for rank 2.

NeoLemmix Main / Re: NeoLemmix - Returning user experience report
« on: October 03, 2017, 03:52:45 PM »
Hi Nezz,

I'm the one responsible for the website. I want to apologize that you had a bad user experience. I'm afraid that it's my fault. Somewhere along the way it seems that some files went missing when I was trying to convert the downloads to the format that already exists on the server and database.

Fortunately I have fixed everything and here are some steps to make sure you don't run into any more problems:

1) Delete everything NeoLemmix related on your computer.
2) Download NeoLemmix again, and extract its contents into your desired folder.
3) Download the Styles folder again (all unnecessary files have been removed), and extract its contents into the "styles" subfolder in your NeoLemmix folder.
4) Everything should work now. Keep in mind that all levels you want to play must go into a "levels" subfolder in the same directory as your NeoLemmix player, but you should be able to open NeoLemmix right out of the box regardless.

Hope this helps and if it still doesn't work please make another post about it here.

Thank you, and welcome to the forums :).

NeoLemmix Styles / Re: Lemmings Plus Graphic set redesign thread
« on: October 02, 2017, 02:50:50 PM »
Very nice GigaLem  I especially like the background of it and the detail that went into the trees, but like everyone else said the only thing I would change is the name of it so that the file doesn't accidentally conflict with levels that reference tree.dat or so that the file doesn't accidentally overwrite it. Maybe gigalem_tree_md.dat (md for modification) or gigalem_tree_remake.dat.

I like your edit to Private Room Available Proxima . My vote is to include it in the pack.

V2 Update

Also, is it too late to include custom music? I attached it below if yes.

No, it isn't generally frowned upon. That's just my personal opinion. Some people like huge lemmings crowds and some (like me) prefer a minimalistic approach.

Oh okay, but I still might reduce the number of lemmings because the current number doesn't really add anything to the solution and it doesn't prevent any backroutes.

Site Discussion / Re: Attachment Too Large? Rewrite Your Whole Post!

I would never pitchfork you Simon ;), but in all seriousness I think that this problem can easily be solved using PHP. I can make it so that PHP saves a cookie to the browser that contains the content of the user's post and where it is going to be posted. It will update every few seconds quietly in the background. If the user leaves or the post gets deleted for reasons explained on this thread the cookie will still exist, and the information it stores can be retrieved and pasted automatically in the text box when the user returns. The cookie will only be deleted if the user finally posts or decides to post in another thread. The code would know that by comparing the current topic with the topic saved in that same cookie. If they don't match then the cookie gets cleared for new post content. The advantage of this is that I don't think a user will (or at least very unlikely to) clear their cookies while posting and the cookie will be terminated after posting so it does not linger in the user's browser. If this is done the only page that needs to be updated is the page that is displayed when a user is writing their post.

- NeoLemmix Introduction Pack has been removed.
- New Flexi Toolkit is available to download independently under the Flexi Toolkit page.

And of course please be advised that all feedback is welcomed 8-).
